  1. You clean a bore of a S12? I guess if you do from action to muzzle, if you go opposite you just dump shitty cleaning solvent into your action dept.
  2. Federal Bulk for me has always been better than the Winchester. The absolute worse I have had is Winchester low recoil. Try the Fed on setting 2.
  3. totally forgot about cutting it down. Thanks Gunfun for pointing it out. Totally forgot about that option. This forum rawks
  4. as for magazines, 8 or 12, go in between and get 10. The 12 are obscenely long. Best bet would be to order a MD20 Drum.
  5. Went to the range today. 200 rounds of Federal Bulk from Wally World and only one FTL and that was the last round on my MD drum. All the Surefire mags without a hiccup. So happy. Thanks all for chiming in with advice and opinions. They were all appreciated.
  6. Damn them are some nice weapons
  7. haven't put one on yet. Its just a cut 18.5" bbl at this moment. Not sure if I want to add one now
  8. Zambidis I fail to see any admission if you are implying I am guilty of something. As I am sure you can read since you quoted it I cut the bbl to 18.5 from the closed bolt. So that is legal from anyway you look at it, Even w/o the brake installed.
  9. Of course he would say all that. Thats like calling a Dr saying you have a medical problem. No matter how minimal they will say to go to the ER.
  10. Well i took Azrials advice and slowly took my time with a good pipe cutter. Approx 6 minutes it took and it is exactly 18.5" from closed bolt face. no indentations on inside of bbl as I took my time cutting. Just a nice even cut with no bad choke from rushing it. Used a conical stone to smooth out the inside and going to use blue wonders cold blue but in black for coloring it. Thanks everyone for chiming in and suggestions. This was before now after
  11. Is the s12's bbl carbon steel?
  12. I dropped the tape measure down my bbl and its 24.5" to the closed bolt. this is with my birdcage brake on. I want to cut it down but worried about possible rust/corrosion. question #1. Can i cut it to where it is 18.5 with brake permantly installed or does the bbl need to be 18.5 w/o brake? #2. I was going to use a pipe cutter just to lightly score bbl to get a good guide line then use saw. Any recommended blade over others or any hacksaw blade for metal? As for threading I was going to order the threader from CSS. Thanks in advance for all your help, you guys kno
  13. Try polishing the bolt and rails.
  14. 10 round clip with 2 3/4" with 00 buck and #4 shot alternating. The wife can shoot that with no prob and little recoil to stay on target or multiple targets for when I'm not home. Also do not have to worry about going thru walls and into a neighbors house like a magnum slug would.
  15. Merry Christmas to my fellow Saiga owners. Hope its fun, safe and full of family . JOhn
  16. Its actually the threaded 22" bbl but the brake gives it more
  17. I hear ya on that Danklab. My wife has been shooting the crap out of her Sig Mosquito and her Beretta Storm 9mm but I wanted her to make sure she knew the S12 behind the bed, like you said, it does no good if you dont know how to use it. Here she is during the summer trying a frinds Smith and Wesson 460
  18. Nice. I'm a member at the Newark Sportsmans Club. I try to make it there at least once a week shooting and during the nice months bring the kids swimming and fishing.
  19. Big Rock, just west of Aurora about 10 miles. The scope slips off. I was gonna try it deer hunting. That S12 is dead on with its iron sites at 75 yds and a Federal rifled slug, wanted to see what the scope would do.
  20. Wife tried the S12 and all she said afterward was "How much ammo did we bring." She told me she feels more confident with it now at home. In a way I wish it would of jammed so she could work on clearing it but this pig eats everything I throw at it. Almost positive I heard her utter "Get Some"
  21. Just outstanding. Thanks so much for this.
  22. I hear ya on the second round getting deformed. I usually make that one a slug instead of double odd. Still bends the rim of the casing but not as bad. Thanks for the quick replies
  23. Does anyone here leave their stored mags loaded? Is it bad for the spring or should it be no prob. Thanks in advance P
