  1. lol, that's what I said last month. (best Cartman voice) Screw you guys I'm goin' home.
  2. This is not an actual barrel, it's a piece of destroyed barrel from a parts kit I'm using for practice (good thing I didn't go right to the actual barrel). I'm beginning to think my die is f'd up or dull. It runs on pre-cut threads fine but just won't bite to cut new ones. My 1st threading attempt the barrel was slightly over size, maybe that dulled the threads??? Wouldn't think so but just in case I just ordered another die.. ouch. So sick of this.
  3. Smartbomb, Both sides of the die are tapered, tried both ways. CNC warrior says writing towards work. I'll chop again and try this. This is a real mystery. I'm no stranger to light metalworking and shop work. The die is adjustable and opened as far as it will go while still fitting in the stock handle. Tks for the replies.
  4. 1st time barrel threading this is all I get. Yes I'm turning counter clockwise and it's 14mm, see calipers pic. TAT face is about 1/2 way through the die.. It just rounds off the top and won't bite. This is a piece of chopped barrel from a barrel-less AK kit that I'm using for practice. I've cut it down and tried threading it three times.... I'm so pissed. Why won't it thread?
  5. LOL, so while this is BTT is there any updates?
  6. I'm also a fan of the Krebs. It's faster on target and does not obscure it. When/if you change your front sight try and keep it thin.
  7. A true 74 brake is hard to beat plus you get the bayonet option. I've never tried one @ night though, anybody? I'm also partial the PWS comps.
  8. Sorry I don't have any pics from the match. My grab from the prize table; Engraved on the other side. Wished it was the .357 for ammo commonality w/ my other magnums but that's okay.
  9. Tks. I've carried it around a bit. It's solid. I have zero indication that it will fail. Cold blued the hole last night.
  10. It's pretty solid. I'll put the fancy Magpul sling on tonite. It's one of those that goes from single point to 2 or 3 point. Drill pilot hole and then 3/8" hole being careful not to ream the hole out any bigger than needed. I would do it with your stock in place paying attention to yer depth. I did it with the stock out, PITA. Then take the stock out and ream it larger to account for the ball detents that hold the mount in place. Additionally the rec was just a hair thick so you will have to take some material off. I opted to do this on the internal side with a dremel tool. I stuck t
  11. Took the plunge. Turned out really nice, not like some of my projects hehe.
  12. This, just save your pennies and get a good one. You won't regret it, you really do get what you pay for and a 12ga is hard on optics.
  13. I did the ladder step adjustment thing at first too but even when I thought I had it set it would still fail to cycle occaisionally. I just locktited my adjustment screw and turned it wide open for ultimate reliability. It's just going to bleed off excess gasses anyway and I didn't feel any recoil dif even w/ Sluggers. Loctite is important, it will unscrew under recoil!
  14. I measured the depth of a aluminum DPH stock sling swivel hole and the steel S12 rec. thickness and they were very close. The rec being slightly thicker in fact. These were hard to measure with a calipers but looks all good. Only thing that bothers me is eventually it could waller out the hole I'll need to drill in the plastic stock stub which I could then epoxy a piece of 3/8" ID metal tubing. May just do that right off for support to keep it tight. I've tried to keep my gun light weight but it's still a bit of a beastie.
  15. I have looked at the Echo93 mounts. Good point about the US Palm grip not jiving with them, hadn't thought of that and I love my grip. +1 for the push button. I can't imagine it wouldn't work but I want to be 100% sure and exhaust my options before I put a gaping hole in the S12.
  16. Thinking about putting a push button single point in this position. 3/8" hole right in the side of the rec. Right now it's just sitting in place mocked up. What do you think?
  17. Prize table went over $100k and growing. Sign up now to ensure a spot.
  18. You freaks. I'm think I'm becoming a chilihead because of you. Is it bad when I stop by the cupboard for a dab of hot sauce?
  19. http://www.zombiesintheheartland.com Supposed to have a huge prize table and a belt fed I've been to this range/playground several times. It's a top notch facility.
  20. Tks for the tutorial. Bookmarking this. When cutting chromed barrels do they tend to crack or flake over time or is this just internet rumor? Tks ahead.
  21. Since this is still going. As someone who shoots a shitload of .45, .40 and .357, I said 9mm. It does the job, it's very available and cheap.
  22. Yikes. $50. I was excited before I saw the price.
