  1. I just think it's one more unnecessary thing to have hanging off the gun. To each their own.

    New Saiga 12

I bet you have three ports and two of them are hidden close to the gas block.
  3. Where I work we are taught to use the acronym "SAFE". S-Safety on a safe and clear weapon. A-Action closed on a known empty chamber. F-Five rounds in a box type magazine inserted into the weapon. E-Erect or upright in the rack. This is perfect for a weapon like an AK, Saiga, or AR that is apt to slam-fire if the chamber is left open with a magazine in the weapon, and the weapon is accidentally dropped or knocked over. I definitely don't want to take the chance of a slam-fire or negligent discharge in my own home because of wrongly thinking that I wouldn't have time to charge the gu
  4. No. SGM actually makes one to fit it, and it does fit it. Take the old one off, put the SGM on. ETA: It's a good, soft recoil pad. http://www.saiga-12.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SGMTRP&cat=10
  5. Why don't you just get the screw-on one that's made for the factory stock?
  6. Can't use it if it's not there. 'nuff said
  7. For that I give you this......... http://www.pown.it/3209
  8. My S12 has no problem running high brass express, magnum, maximum birdshot and turkey loads on setting 1. Those ARE high power shells. 3 3/4 Dram powder charge (in the Express) as opposed to 3 dram in the bulk pack loads.
  9. You can get high brass birdshot but it's usually going to say "Express" or "Maximum" or "Turkey" on the box and it's a lot more expensive.
  10. See how many times you can get it to skip across the water. You can mount it to the top of a fence post to hang your jacket on.
  11. Mags need to be fitted to the gun, not the other way around. There are threads here dealing with that.
  12. Were you filing the magazine or the catch on the gun? One good the other bad.
  13. Don't beat it to bad. Chances are the BHO spring fell off the hook where it's supposed to sit, down behind the BHO lever. Just use a pick or needle nose pliers to bring the spring back up to the little hook where it needs to be, then the BHO will go back down the hole. Do a search and there are pictures of that somewhere. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=58743&st=0&p=557517&hl=+Bolt%20+hold%20+open%20+spring&fromsearch=1entry557517 It show it real good in this video http://www.youtube.com/user/carolinashooters#p/u/6/Yek8AfLlu-s
  14. What do you do with toys? Play with them. Just as when I go out and have my big boy "playtime" out at my farm where I shoot or at the range. Sometimes you do things to thing to them like upgrade it, that make them able to be "played with" better or in a different way or function better. Just as how I added a pistol grip,CSS quad rail forearm, Magpul CTR stock...w.e. so that I can "enjoy playtime" with a different looking toy than I had originally but still the same one. I have never called it an instrument of death as I have never used it to kill something and until I use it for that intended
  15. I have never, ever called an instrument of death a toy, nor will I. I have a lot of fun with it , but it is NOT a toy.
  16. Know what? After thinking about it, my thumb gets awfully tired while shooting and I might just have to get one of these so I can rest it.
  17. Lucky! The best advice is keep reading here.
  18. Yeah, 1 is 1 and 2 is 2, as long as the detent is engaged near the last couple of threads.
