  1. Lack of keywords, yes. Payment options, also yes. But the first thing I noticed was, only one photo? I know you've got more! Show me all angles, up close on interesting stuff. Also, clean your lens and don't go so crazy in levels trying to get an "all white" background. You're killing the contrast and emphasizing the gunk on the lens.
  2. ... You very much remind me of myself: you are very clearly well read in this platform and have clearly done much research. I think, however, you may be very intently studying the intricate sap patterns of a young pine sapling and missing out on the awesome beauty of the forest around you. I agree with your choice of cartridge: I enjoy 7.62x39mm. But I strongly suggest you NOT make any changes to the underlying design of this weapon system: that rear sight block does so much more than just hold the rear sights! It's attached to the super-crucial rear trunnion, the gas tube locks up on
  3. My humble suggestion? Lower your visual expectations, stick to your performance expectations. You plan on reloading: great! You'll milk extra accuracy out of the platform. You mentioned getting some Tech Sights: great! you'll increase your sight radius and gain an aperture (You're reloading, no worries about cleaning corrosive here!). Don't compromise the advantage gained by the increased sight radius: leave the front sight block alone. Accuracy is your priority, so no need for a Bulgarian brake: you won't be shooting at a high rate of fire! Instead consider a $11 M16A1 style birdcage flash hi
  4. I've got the same TAPCO Saiga Intrafuse handguard as rangemaster, and if you DON'T have a lower handguard retainer and DON'T plan on using an Ultimak, I'm ALL for it and would heartily recommend it (And some loctite!) If you've got the lower handguard retainer and want to run an Ultimak... I'd go for the AK Intrafuse handguard. FWIW.
  5. Another +1 for YWHIC: He is truely an asset to this community!
  6. I like the concept, and think the only things I would add are the triangle folder and the extension. A good question would then be, is the rifle long enough with the stock folded? (Or is that a CA only law?). If a triangle folder can't be had, the 'faux' fixed triangle would be my next choice, followed by the Kvar standard stock.
  7. If it must be railed, I'd go with the TAPCO Intrafuse handguard for regular AKs. You'll need a bolt on lower handguard retainer, available from CSS or Dinzag (CSS's is cheaper but looks rougher and might require you to notch your barrel, Dinzag's looks awesome and no notching required.) For what it's worth, I just got my Ultimak and Primary Arms Gen 8 (Wanted the killflash!) and I LOVE IT! Outstanding upgrade! I modified a TAPCO Saiga Intrafuse (Full length no mods required) and it required MAJOR fitting... and I did a crappy job. (FWIW!)
  8. I just went shooting at the Manatee Gun and Archery club here in Florida: A guy was blowing dust all over the place with a .50BMG bolt gun. The ROs couldn't get ENOUGH of it!
  9. I really, really like it. Great Work!
  10. Notice how none of the 'good guys' have so much as even a soft patrol cap? If I was walking into a known war zone, I'd want my kevlar helmet! The two corporals in the first photo don't even have vests! If they do, they're the concealable, pistol only vests!
  11. Yeah, but I think the Kel-Tec RFB is quite a bit larger and heavier than a bullpup AK, all things being equal, and that probably helps the recoil. When I think, ".308", I think, "Reach out and touch something". When I think, ".22lr", I think, "Great time plinking! 25 yards, no problem!" So my vote's for the 22lr. (Maybe make this a poll?)
  12. Alright! Chalk another one up to hand tools and the Mark 1 Mod 0 Eye-Brain Linkage!
  13. Sure, lots of us have, myself included. Pick up a center punch (Mine was spring loaded, awesome! $3.00 from harbor freight) and make a good indentation in the trunnion. Using lots of cutting oil, drill through the trunnion with the provided drill bit, making sure you're drilling straight and true, and backing out after each couple of turns to clear the bit. After you pop through the trunnion, switch over to the tap: I used a cheap tap wrench, again from harbor freight. Lots of cutting oil, back out after 1/4 turn of resistance and clear it out. It takes less than 15 minutes and can be done pre
  14. Yikes, my gut reaction is to just send it back for another. I mean, it's not a recoil bearing area, it doesn't hold a recoil or action bearing part... but then again, if it's a bullpup, your face will be pressing against the receiver cover and therefore that lip. I don't like it.
  15. Taco pouches are adjustable flaps of cordura that hold magazines like a taco shell holds the meat and cheese: Here's a couch warrior talking about them, with pics.
  16. VERY nice Draco! You thinking of going SBR in the future?
  17. I'll take one AK Sling, One Romanian 2 Mag pouch and one oil bottle. PM on the way!
  18. I like it! I've also been reading that those M16A1 birdcages work surprisingly well for surprising cheap, and I gotta say, it looks damn good!
  19. KC, You know, looking back, you're probably right. I don't know for sure though, and don't want to get mixed up with the law here. If any mods want to weigh in with a yea or neigh, I'd appreciate it. Still looking, by the way!
  20. Also, a great wellspring of knowledge for those rifles is Survivor's SKS Boards. Hate to say it, but I've never seen an 'Unissued' Romanian: you may well have a collector-refurbed SKS, but hey, if it looks great and runs great... It's all win! Could you post some photographs when you have a spare moment? I'd love to see it!
  21. [Photographs would assist more knowledgeable members in answering this question!]
  22. ...and while it's what I'm looking for... you have to be a contributor to sell items on this forum. No harm, no foul, though: and thanks for taking the time to make the offer! (Becoming a contributor is super easy, by the way! Many options are super inexpensive, too!)
  23. [EDIT: No longer looking! thanks all!] Looking to buy a bolt on lower handguard retainer for my Saiga 7.62x39. Klassy/CSS or Dinzag style is fine, it can be used, just needs to function properly! I prefer to pay via discreet paypal but can send a USPS money order. Seeing as the part is tiny and weighs nothing, I'd prefer it go out USPS first class to keep shipping costs down. Thanks!
