  1. An old account of mine was hacked: PLEASE disregard ANYTHING that came from me that looks suspicious! I do NOT email random links to foreign websites!

  2. +1 for Raptor9000, this guy knows what he's doing, really quick shipping. Thanks!
  3. A big +1 goes out to John in AZ, a truely great seller. Large, complex item arrived professionally packaged, early, with zero damage. Would buy from again in a heartbeat! Thanks, John!
  4. Off to a weekend Appleseed! Should be good!

Shot 208... cried a little inside. Next time!

  5. GeorgiaPD tenders great advice, but at the very, very least, you MUST get that serial number out there as stolen. Cover your ass! THEN do what you feel is right!
  6. Jim, I know! I did hit them with a little Hoppe's 9 to clean the crud off them, but after that they were the best! I was just starting to really get into the groove, and I was literally sitting down with CC in hand to order a pair of tins when I noticed AIM was out. I didn't cry, but colorful language wafted through the air long after. I can only hope somebody snatched up more than they needed, or finds a link to some out in the wild.
  7. WTB a tin, or sizable quantity, of Polish 7.62x54R on stripper clips/chargers. AIM used to carry this, but no longer, and I've found myself preferring it over the other stuff. I'm interested in buying from a member here, but would also love a link to someplace I could purchase some. Thanks all! (Pic copyright AIM Surplus, to be used as reference only!)
  8. Negative and negative: this was covered on Fox News today while I was at work. Gates wants higher premiums for RETIRED, WORKING AGE servicemembers and their families. Active duty will NOT, repeat NOT have to pay for anything, as is current policy. We write a blank check for up to, and including, our lives. It's part of the deal.
  9. I'll respectfully disagree with Lupo and side with Major Al here: don't start off on the wrong foot. Also, I know the Coast Guard handles assignments and ratings a little differently from any other service: you may be undesignated for two years and THEN go to a school which you qualify for. Again, you'll do fine. Stay calm, focused and collected. Serve with honor, and you'll have no regrets.
  10. I'd recommend against the book: just show up well rested, hydrated, and calm. Keep your mind clear and simple: Listen carefully, follow instructions, ignore distractions. You'll be fine.
  11. A big +1 for Self-Inflicted: I couldn't be happier with my item's condition... and it came at an outstanding price! Thanks again!
  12. Seconded... not a fan of the pistol grip, which is a shame because I AM a fan of the rest of the rifle. Great work!
  13. Indy94, I'd consider using a Tapco or Arsenal Black Polymer stock instead, just to make things look uniform. Congrats on the successful conversion, though, and welcome to the boards!
  14. Right on, that's what the dual aperture set was designed for! Hope it works out for ya!
  15. Yes, at least one: the Mojo MicroClick. You get a drop in aperture sight, no modifications required, with a click wheel for elevation and a screw for windage. Runs about $71 shipped. [EDIT] Also Krebs Custom, Also a drop in Aperture sight but works with your standard elevation slider for elevation. No windage adjustment. Here's a recent thread about it.
  16. Yugo surplus from AIM: $2.50 for 15rds gives you $0.167 per round, plus shipping. They have a modest selection of Saiga-worth accessories, along with some other good stuff.
  17. The Echomaker's idea would work fine... if you can find one for cheaper than $85.00USD, shipped to your door! And hey, if you're half-way through the refinish and decide you don't like it, you have a repository of spare parts or a complete barreled action waiting for the bubba treatment!
  18. ...Or, if you're a C&R... grab a $85 (shipped) round receiver (w/ all the accessories, no less!) from AIM and go to town on it, before you do anything to your nice one. I'm seriously considering this myself.
  19. A great seller all around, fast communications and shipping. Many thanks!
  20. That doesn't make any sense. You can't sell it if you don't have any bidders! Who fucking cares how many people are watching it? Am I missing something here? He's inferring that folks weren't even clicking on, showing interest in or comfortable with the rifle. If you have people 'Watching' your auction, it shows up every time they log into Gunbroker, and lets them play the last minute bidding game... even though GB has a '15 minute rule'.
  21. I looked over this again after getting some sleep: I think you're already much closer, but when you relist, consider replacing all references to '7.62' with '7.62x39' or '7.62x39mm'. I'll second the advice of showing a cheap combloc mag in there, just to emphasize the point. Also, you don't have many auctions/feedback under your belt: consider grabbing up/selling off some small stuff just to prove to folks you've handled many transactions and are a pro.
