  1. Don’t know if you’d be able to do it in the officers model, too few people doing anything in that group. In a commander size it should be easy enough with maybe a Caspian frame and slide and a Kart barrel. I’ve used both Caspian and Essex parts and both worked fine but I always felt like I got a better quality gun from Caspian builds, but all the Essex have worked just as well. The other thing is I’ve always done government sized guns for myself last one (photo) with an Essex frame, same slide as a STI Trojan Spartan, and a Kart barrel ran just over $600.00 but I had some of the internals on h
  2. You mean you’re not driving one now? If the president with all the secret service protection he has needs an armored vehicle too, don’t we all need one? I'd go with one of the newer BMWs. Left out the part about the president with his worldwide popularity.
  3. If you know who hosts the show in this area, you'll understand why all of the prices are inflated. You know of that certain shop in Crestview? ETA: That's the shows here, Pensacola, and Panama City. Same guy owns shops in each. Yeah I know but Js setting up a big long bunch of tables in the middle didn’t take all the private owners tables out you use to see with a used Marlin 22, Mossberg 500, or a Ruger pistol. What happened to all these guys? Maybe the price of a table jumped too high or the internet sites are getting all those guns. Not after I came to believe it was the hot dogs l
  4. For the record what brand upper did you go with (DPMS from the start of this thread)? I got an old Oly carbine (one on the left in the photo above) the other day with a A1 upper and looking at going to a flat top.
  5. Well I for one am really glad to hear it’s all working out for you. S20s can be a WTF is this thing doing now gun that just need a little time and tuning to be a fun to shoot sweet shotgun.
  6. Oh well it’s not education, health care, government, or financial responsibility but it’s something let’s take it and be happy.
  7. Every once in a while I still drag my butt to a gun show, but it’s just not the same anymore. Too few private sellers with some good deals on some good old guns and the “show” part of it is totally gone. You use to get to see some neat old stuff like some museum quality Kentucky rifles, some cool old knives, and long forgotten pistols now its just rows of 1911s, S&W, AKs, and ARs stuff that's not at any kind of bargin price.
  8. Well the G19 went to the GSSF match in P’Cola Fl yesterday and was checked out by the people from the factory and as suspected is fine / safe to shoot. Only thing they did was replace the spring for the lock bar that retains the slide not related to the problem. Issue closed but I still think someone from Glock should have answered my earlier contacts about the gun.
  9. The stock is held by the being pushed against the receiver by the buffer tube. It was discontinued by DPMS but Midway USA may still have them in stock. It makes the gun like it had a Warsaw length stock extended I may look at adding a recoil pad just to put a little more length for my NATO sized body to shoot with. Not wild about the scope but they may or may not have any collectors value looks like I could get maybe $150.00 or a little more for it. Gun runs fine, trigger sucks I always hope to fall into a gun with a good trigger but never have yet. As far as long term I may go to a Left
  10. kind of different Sorry should have been a little more detailed in the beginning (was working on something else), that’s an Oly 16” PCR (politically correct rifle) from 1996 I traded for. Has the old DPMS M231 stock system and chances are I’m going to put a left-handed receiver on. That’s it compared to my Bushmaster 20” that I’m planning to move along soon. Swapped out for one of my 1911s. Gun also has one of the old Colt 4X20 scopes on it.
  11. Elks lodge turkey shoot Saturday in Crestview, FL and GSSF Glock match at ERML this weekend in Pensacola, FL going Sunday.

  12. Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc’-ra-cy) - A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.
  13. You know we’ve all seen this before: Weird obsessed dad Hot daughter Nympho wife / or not in some shows Kid who couldn’t get laid in a Mexican whore house with a hundred dollar bill stapled to his forehead. Thought about adding SOGs but might actually meet Will someday.
  14. I’m not giving / or selling classes as a business (to me that’s a nightmare), I’ve taught several people to shoot, my only requirement is I feel safe around them with a loaded gun. I don’t try to talk politics or religion with them before, during, or after but if there is anything about them that I’m uncomfortable about we aren’t going to shoot together (for my safety and theirs). If I wanted to go get certified as an instructor I’d still have that criteria and if that was not an allowable standard piss on it I wouldn’t be an instructor. Because of my sons friendships with a bunch of varied p
  15. When I’m in the store and walk by the bakery I look at all the fat pills available, but I don’t eat them all that would be awkward. Like some other parts of the show I’d bet some of the T&A is for getting ratings and some just normal teen girl stuff. My only child was a boy and I didn’t have the problem of anyone leering at him so someone with a daughter could address appropriate dress for teen girls better. Plus I live in Florida so after the beach wear I’ve seen she’s dressed normal.
  16. With some understanding of the points being made about “one Nation under God”, I still believe as an individual someone should have the right not to deal with or do business with anyone they don’t want to regardless of their reasoning.
  17. My personal policy is not to teach wives (past, present, or potential future) about guns or shooting. Have an ex that if she knew how a single action pistol worked I’d have been dead in 74 and a present one that if she saw anything about potential future wives, dead man walking. Still seems like he should be able to have the standard sign about reserving the right to refuse service to anyone.
  18. They say the camera adds 10 pounds looks it may also subtract several IQ points. I suspect some of it’s just showmanship for the TV show. The show might get more happy viewers if mom and daughter had more swimsuit time and dad didn’t have to take a helicopter to every sale. Should note I was more than a little disgusted they apparently didn’t just give the gun to the disabled veteran. They made money on the show did they rally need to make money on the rifle too?
  19. Nothing on a mount but just wanted to say I’ve heard and read some great stuff on those rifles lately. Have a couple of friends with Savages that shoot beautifully.
  20. You didn’t shoot yourself or the RO, you weren’t DQ’d so just a learning day at the range. That’s why we keep going back to get better at the sport, I’ve had stages that looked like Monty Python was running the match and I thank God no one filmed me.
  21. I’ll see if I can get a shot, me and cameras are always kind of a maybe thing. I’d worked on a 20 in the past that I had to clean up the track / groove on the bolt the ejector runs in to get good ejection. Without the gun in front of me I do believe I remember it is slightly angled up on all of them I’ve seen like an upside down flat bottom V. couldn't shoot a photo clear enough to see anything but it's shaped like this:
  22. I hope I never drink (or smoke) whatever he did when this whole concept seemed like a good idea. Maybe he was snorting the mace or maybe he should have. Somehow I don’t think his day job is fulfilling his needs. IMHO this is really just too damn dumb and funny to get real serious about on the rights and wrongs of it.
