Maybe if you have really young kids that cant seem to keep their fingers off the stuff or older ones that arent around it enough to know its nothing special... I keep it all on a big bakers rack style shelf... 5 shelves, 5 feet wide, 18" deep... screwed to the wall so it wont fall over. If someone breaks in and wants to steal my ammo that badly, they can have it, as long as the guns are secure. Yo

I have one on my Remington 870 and I love it. Lots of high brass rounds through it and its almost a pleasure to shoot. Its also my fav gun my GF likes to shoot she says the FAL and S12 has more recoil than my knoxx stocked 870. That being said you are putting it on a mossberg. I dont know about mav 88 has the same controls as a 590 590a1. I put one on my mossberg 590a1 but took it off cause the safety was awkward to reach and so was the slide release. The factory stock is back on and it now kicks like a mule compared to the 870 and S12.

Ive always liked pistol grips on shotguns. They give me more control of the weapon, puts my wrist in a better angle, and makes it easier and faster to reload. I like and can use both but I prefer a pistol grip.
