  1. I like how you got the dimpled one haha.
  2. Yep its the MKA 1919. The mods already have a section for it and tromix has already started making parts and mods. Check it out. Tromix has already made an sbs version, its pretty cool.
  3. Can your tri-rail be modified to fit a Saiga 223? Maybe do some fitting on the rear of the handgaurd or drill a new hole. I am impatient
  4. I guess this fits your criteria as much as the tapco does..... I have the CSS AR style handgaurd that I made into a tri-rail with their rail kit. This thing is amazing. The finish is awesome and its light. The rails are plastic but I am going to try and find some aluminum ones with the same bolt pattern. Ive shot almost 1000 rounds of bulk pack and about 300 slugs and buckshot. This thing fits like a glove and the Magpul AFG has been there the whole time. The pictures are from when I was installing the forearm so I didnt have the third rail on it. I installed the laser for about 200 rounds
  5. It depends on how bad the SHTF is. If it were a "Book of Eli" situation you have to think about gun lube. Something simple, light, an effective hunting tool, and lethal. I would honestly carry a Dual caliber rifle, 12 gauge/22lr. You can carry 1,000's of rounds of 22lr and after a decade of chaos everybody will be out and you have 3 bricks worth in your pack. Id use the 12 gauge for hunting. And i would carry a 22lr revolver. This is if society has been over for decades, clean oil is nowhere to be found, and everyone became nomads. But my fantasy load out for SHTF would be my NORINCO MAK-9
  6. Does the tech sights wobble at all in the dove tail? Your gun is pretty sweet. I like the gas block as well.
  7. Ok heres the response slide fire gave me when I emailed them.... Thank you for your interest in Slide Fire Solutions. Our products are currently designed for use on the AR-15 only. We are currently developing a Slide Fire for use on the AK which we hope to release before the end of the year. Once it is on the market we do have plans to release products for other firearms. Keep an eye on our website for the latest on new and upcoming products. Very cool.
  8. Badass. I just emailed them to see what they say about it. Maybe they will give me an approximate release date. We will see.
  9. Thanks ACER. Maybe ill give it a try. Now I just need a sand blaster or some kind. I dont like chemical strippers as ive used on my other bluing projects. They leave a weird film and residue on the metal.
  10. Ive owned my S12 for 8 months and ive shot probably 1800 rounds of birdshot and about 300 various high powered loads. Every time I go out i have a minimum of 200 rounds of birdshot. The fastest ive gone through 200 is about an hour. I love this gun. I will never sell it.
  11. The gun isnt proportioned right when its in the sporter configuration. My S-12 was the same way and when I converted it it made all the difference. Plus I think the barrel is thicker on the saigas than other ak's like the wasr's and what not. My Norinco MAK-90 has the 1.5mm receiver (RPK receiver) and a much heavier barrel. Its in the 9 pound range I think. Thats a good thing because it will last longer and be more accurate because its much more rigid. I saw a video on you tube a while back showing a WASR-10 firing in slow motion. The barrel had the rubber pencil effect. Then it showed the M
  12. I like the idea of AR ergonomics with the reliable AK action. Sharring mags are also a plus. Id take this over an AR anyday IMO. But dont get me wrong, I like shooting AR's but I like all my guns to be G2G in a SHTF situation. And I dont have the money to spend on a real high quality AR like the HK416. Plus I dont mind some weight. I could do without the flashlight though. I plan on doing the same furniture layout and mag adapter but im going to install the tech sights with a front tritium night sight. Im excited to get started. You will see it in about 6 weeks.
  13. After seeing Littlebigman's 223 I now have some inspiration on how im going to do my 223. Similar furniture setup but not an SBR. That is probably the coolest S-223 ive ever seen.
  14. If you own a Saiga and converted with your own hands and you still have $1000 in it, you have one top of the line Saiga 12.
  15. If midway sells them for $180, I think that is more than fair. Beta drums are bulky and hard to carry and the snail drums are just as difficult. 100 rounds in a 12 inch mag for the price of a beta is pretty sweet I think. I just need the Ar adapter and I think ill order a 60 round, or at least get on the list.
  16. I came across this while surfing midways website and I was wondering if anybody has used these in a MSA adapter. They also make a 60 round quadstack that would be a bit more practical but as far as reliability goes how do they perform compared to doublestacks? http://www.midwayusa...ctNumber=170129
  17. Ive ordered a Saiga 223 from them before. It didnt have a single knick on it. But they didnt ship it for like 4 days so I didnt get it for almost 2 weeks. But I couldnt get someone on the phone at all. I thought I was ripped off after not hearing from them for a week and a half and still hadnt received the rifle. But then my FFL called and said it was in and I felt better. They have good prices but they need to communicate a little better.
  18. Say I wanted to Rust Blue a Mosin nagant, how do I get a pan big enough to boil the barrel in haha. This is interesting, thanks for posting the link on how to do it. Ill give it a try. Maybe its easier than cold bluing.
  19. Damn cobra you beat me to it. I havent checked my email and I just noticed psl snipers PM. O well Ill just order one. Its hard to find stocks the 702. Ill see if I can get it to fit.
  20. Do you think this stock would fit a Mossberg 702 plinkster with a bit of filing?
  21. I dont know much about rust bluing but I tried to cold blue a sks without completely stripping all the parts off. It was one PITA. I had a hard time getting the tight crevaces to blue and I kept cross contaminating the gun as I worked my way down. I like a glossy blued gun but I absolutely hate doing it myself.
  22. I emailed the guy and he wants $300 or trade. So I asked what he was interested in and he said a walther 22 or sig mosquito. Since I had neither I offered him an ISSC m22. He said yes and that threw up a red flag for me. I was sure he was going to ask for cash on my end since these run $199 nib. So hes either not savvy with gun values or somethings wrong with it. I decided to keep my M22. Its pretty fun and cheap to shoot.
  23. Damn, I was hoping you would say BUY IT! Ok thanks for the heads up Shandlanos.
  24. Hey theres an add online from a guy selling a Kimmel AP9 assault pistol locally. My question is, does anybody have any knowledge on this Tec-9 look alike? I like how it looks and it looks fun to shoot.
  25. This happened to me when I first brought my S12 home. I actually managed to get the dust cover off and then i just used a pic reaching in through the left side of the gun and pushed it down. I just bent the spring so it would wrap around the BHO. Its been almost a year and no problems since. .....Off topic. My gun did this about an hour after I brought it home. I didnt know about his forum so I had no idea what to do. I took it to the shop where I bought it from and the guy had the nerve to tell me its "supposed" to do that. Everytime you lock it back you have to manually pull it out with
