Hi Mike-no it is a reg AMD 65 lower HG and pg but to get it on you would basically have to remove the gas block since it is a TIGHT fit around the barrel. Racer- yea it should help in stability. The other was the AMD 63- std length barrel,same wood pattern butt and pg's as mine, no upper hg on gas tube but std length piston. Hi guys ,I have asked cobra about this and he gave me an answer BUT I think the NEW Saiga 223 and 762x39 rifles have had a 'rework...' I was at a 'fun show 'last weekend and they are selling Saiga rifles for 275-380 depending on the model. here is the issue-tBOTH the x39 and the 223 rifles appear to have the trunnions and magwells redone at the factory so now they SEEM to have the same 'tapered contour' in the magwell and trunnion area as the S308. The mags appear to have tapers on them also?! I swear it figures, I can now get them but may have to do major rework on them to make them use s

See now I know I am asking the right questions...regarding the chamber pressures and bolt thrust(I will be honest -have NO idea about that issue), a barrel custom made for this conversion SHOULD be able to be made to handle the chamber pressure(?) I have been looking at the .444 Marlin conversion and I think THAT round has to be up there on the pressures also...Just saw the first range report and all seems good so far, or am I missing something in the translation?
