  1. Ok good. That's the way I was planning on going. It gets here tomorrow so we will see how it goes. This is all my fault. I got in a hurry trimming the mag catch and took a hair too much off. Gun functions fine but the slop annoys the hell out of me. Its a $20 fix and I am fine with that.
  2. Just so we know what we are talking about, these are the two guys that went into Chipotle... Yes, I agree with open carry. But come on....a little common sense goes a long way. We are in a battle to protect our rights, and this is simply not the way to go about doing it. I saw a survey once about guns and it was like 20% were pro gun, and 20% were anti-gun. The other 60% were undecided or on the fence about the issue. It is those 60% who we are trying to win over. I just do not believe this is the way to do it. Scaring the hell out of people in a restaurant is not going to convince peop
  3. Which install did you go with? The internally threaded rivet or the deformable rivet?
  4. Never put bho back and never had a problem.
  5. 2 conversions, both we with CSS trigger guards and hogue grips. One needed mod and one didn't. I agree it is the best grip so the frustrating mod was well worth it.
  6. Mmmm k. Well I ordered one so I will report back once I get it installed.
  7. When I first started to reload, this bite me fast, rolled and crushed a few cases. I still have the first bullet I ever made. A 230 grain RN. I did not have the bullet seating die correct, and it shoved the projectile way deep into the case. Only made that mistake once, but I have made a few others along the way. It is a learning process, and a damn fun one at that.
  8. Glad I could be helpful! Jim Fuller is likely the most knowledgeable guy on AK's alive now. wow you can't be serious Were you thinking Will Hayden?
  9. Just watched all four parts of that AK builder video series. Good stuff. Learned quite a few things. Thanks for posting that.
  10. Nice job man! And welcome to the forum. I think you also helped me make up my mind on the stock. I have been waiting on DPH to finally get theirs in stock, but have been eyeballing the ACE like you have. I like the look of the ACE. May have to go with that one.
  11. And this is good news. Now we just need $350 Saigas to come back around. I don't think that is unreasonable.
  12. Anyone ever installed one of these? It comes with two different methods of installing the rivet. One is to deform the rivet head, the other is an internally threaded rivet. Just curious if anyone has installed one, how you like it, and how difficult it is. Sounds pretty straight forward. http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=RAM%2DTACTICAL&CartID=10
  13. Wow. That's pretty sad. Hate that for his family. What a brutal way to hear about your loved one dying.
  14. 10 mags and 1k round per caliber minimum. Both will oulast you if properly stored.
  15. No kidding. I think Palmetto State Armory had complete upper kits for $400 earlier this week. Only missing lower, which can be had for $50-60. Unbelievable what has happened to the AR market. They just not selling apparently. Also 22LR's are sitting on the shelves because ammo is scarce for them. No one buying. S&W having a hard time selling their M&P 15-22 right now, as is Ruger with their 10-22. Good time to buy either.
  16. I think November elections will play a huge role in Saiga prices. Hell, prices for everything. With a 2/3rds majority of the government being democrat, there is always speculation about the next gun bill. If 2/3rds were republican, then I think alot of that speculation would end. Obama and the libs have been some of the best gun salesman of all time. While it is good for gun ownership to be ever expanding, when that many people jump in all at the same time over some BS scare tactic, then it hurts prices with supply and demand. When people are no longer worried that guns will be outlawed, t
  17. Our average response time is about 4 minutes. Well, unless the "Hot and Fresh" sign is illuminated on the Krispy Kreme, then you people are on your own
  18. Thats what I figured. Just pisses me off to have a perfect conversion, then make a mistake on the very last thing I did. I really do not think it will be a problem....there is much more slop in other AK variants I own and have shot. Thanks for the replies.
  19. Just a tad too much. Some mags have a noticeable wobble. Its not much. I probably shaved off a 16th or less too much. Is this going to cause feeding problems? Just asking because I would rather change it out before parkarizing
  20. Mine didn't bother me until I recently bought one that does not have it. Now it bugs the piss out of me. Problem I have is gun was parked and painted with Nurells Matt black. Its beautiful.....except for that damn velcro patch. I would have to get it refinished. Not worth it, imho.
  21. Amazing how much easier the bullet guide is with quality tools. Took all of 15 to 20 minutes. Also got the rear tang cut off. Now I'll park it and finish with nurells matte black.
  22. The only news I saw on School Resource Officers was that a security guard was involved in detaining him. Not sure what that means, but it sounds to me like their was no SRO on campus. Or that they do not have police on campus.
