  1. Sim, those are all pretty simple fixes. If nothing else keep it as a spare. These old Saturns love to routinely make it well in to the 200 some odd thousand miles with a little maintenance.
  2. I'd love to find an old Festiva in descent shape to drive as a work/fishing car. Even more so I'd like to find an old diesel VW rabbit. Just don't see these little gems anymore.
  3. So you buy the card from a stranger on craigslist and then make them go with you to the store and make the purchase? Must be some awfully compliant people with gift cards to sell at a loss in your area. Can't you call the number on the card and do a balance inquiry anyways? Just curious because if someone demanded I go buy ammo with purchased card (especially a stranger off craigslist) I would likely have some not so nice words for them as I politely escorted them off of my property.
  4. Figured I'd give this old thread a bump. Love old trusty rusty vehicles. My daughter's 2002 Saturn SL1 just turned 170K this week. Still runs great. Fired right up in the morning after nearly a week of close to -15 wind chills at night.
  5. One of those shotgun shell wall clocks would look great in anyone's kitchen. Except mine, says my wife.
  6. I really expected a plug for Redwood Marine, in Eureka CA here. No idea how I remember that...
  7. If Roadhouse or Smokey and the Bandit happens to be on I'm all in for the duration.
  8. Better check head space on all those brand new rifles to be safe...
  9. Just watched Captain Phillips last night. Good movie. Whenever I stumble over Back to the Future I will watch it till its over. Anything with Eastwood.
  10. Muscle cars did the same the same thing....TheDodge Super Bee, a 280HP car, was considered crazy fast, and was a purpose built race car that was street legal. Now, 280HP is NOTHING. There are factory stock V6 cars our there that are faster and have more power. They frequently end up in the hands of beginner drivers with doting parents. Bad idea. Start slow. Ya gotta walk before you can run. The performance model of the Super Bee built for racing was the hemi version. 425 underrated ponies. These cars were true fire breathers that were by no means slow even by today's standa
  11. This, I love my old Max. They do have their quirks though Love love it man! If it were black it would be perfection!
  12. That's completely asinine to to me. No way to utilize iron sights with that heavy oil filter on there. Looks completely bubba. It wouldn't be worth the money to me even for novelty.
  13. I sold the wood furniture from my wasr on ebay no problems. If you notice nothing is ever referred to as "AK47", it is all listed as 7.62 X 39. I listed mine as 7.62 X 39 furniture. Agreed that it is a ridiculous policy. Not to mention all kinds of AR parts are listed.
  14. I would stay away from sport bikes in that price range. They more than likely have had the snot ran out of them. I always liked the Yamaha V-Max. I believe they quit making them in the late 2000's. Not sure what an older one could be bought for, but they were screamers and fairly comfortable to ride.
  15. Try not to drop the bolt on to a carpeted floor. That may cause more damage than no recoil buffer...
  16. What was it, 80000 rounds in three years that fella was claiming a couple weeks ago? I just got déjà vu...
  17. I'm in the beginning stages of seeking financing for a new garage/shop. I currently have an old, leaky one stall and want a 3 stall with loft. Going to have it plumbed and gas ran. Has anyone financed a garage addition and what kind of loan did you get? It seems as if old fashioned construction loans have been replaced with home equity loans. I don't really want an equity loan. Yes, in a perfect world I would pay with cash up front and go from there. However, I know this is going to be VERY pricey and that is not a realistic option.
  18. What a great way to make children afraid of guns AND law enforcement. No reason for this to ever happen when children are in school. I'd have somebody's ass if they pulled this shit on one of my children. Maybe this is part of common core now?
  19. I usually run a patch or two of windex through the bore after shooting corrosive, then clean as normal. I'm assuming the ammonia in it neutralizes the corrosive residue? I've never had any rust issues crop up after using this method.
  20. Talk to Greg at CSS before you do anything. Very knowledgeable stand up guy.
  21. If I gave the impression that I'm purchasing pallets, or even cases of ammo for calibers I do not own, that was not my intention. I grab a box or two when I buy for what I do have. Prices in my area have normalized, and ammo is plentiful. No harm no foul.
  22. I'm sure I'll happen upon a 9mm sooner or later. Just not priority at the moment. Easier to justify a couple boxes of ammo here and there.
