  1. I also used the spring from a ballpoint pen and it's worked flawlessly for 200 rounds now. The next gunshow you go to, just pick up a regular ak spring so you don't have to pay shipping somewhere. The first conversion takes a couple hours just go slowly and you'll get the hang of it. The next one will go much quicker.
  2. I used Silver Bear in my 16" at the range a few weeks ago, I don't remember what the grain weight was unfortunately, but every round was keyholing the target at 100 yards. I had several fte's with it as well, but that could have been the 20 rounders fault. Didn't have any problems with the South African but it has become a bit ridiculous too. Bought the last couple battlepacks for $55 each and 140 rounds of Norinco for $50. LGS has alot of the Indian, so I'm glad I read this before shooting any. They have a bunch of Radway Green too, but it's $50 per 100.
  3. i believe you are right i heard those "things" are very affectionate... lol they need the extra body heat You are correct on both counts, if you take them in sunlight your supposed to put lotion on them and stuff. She is very affectionate, almost to the point of being annoying sometimes. She seriously wants to ride around on my shoulder like that all the time, still scares the crap out of me when I turn a corner and suddenly she is leaping toward my face trying to get up there. She does kind of resemble a bat and a rat too. It's weird but they have individual fingers inste
  4. Does anyone have one of the Vulcan Arms V15 short stroke piston ar's? If so, how do you like it?
  5. While my current pet is not a dog, due to recently having to put down my husky/wolf mix due to old age, and finding a more suitable home for a rescued golden , here is my cat. Note the resemblance hair wise. She is a cornish rex that had a little hair, (think she lost it all due to stress of being in a breeding facility). We've had her about 2 months and her hair is growing back.
  6. At the last gunshow here, I went on the last day and a guy had a Chinese 100 rd sitting on his table, since it was still there I figured it wasn't for sale, but I asked anyway, got it for $100. Immediately got offered $200 for it by the next passerby.
  7. Ding! the XD is great for the money, but the HK is still the better overall gun. I would keep the HK if it was my choice to make. My next handgun will be a HK or a Sig Sauer. I have decided to keep it, going to take Kysoldiers advice and get a full size or "tactical" too. Thanks for your input. I did like the XD and had no problems with it, capacity was nice, but I do like the HK a bit more.
  8. I love LP but I haven't heard their new CD. Guy I work with says they sound too much like any other boy band. He said they lost the 'edge' they had. I'll still give it a shot tho. Definitely not as edgy and they have more political stuff in this album. It's alright. Big fan of the White Stripes single "Icky Thump" probably going to pick that album up soon.
  9. I had a tough time getting mine cleaned out as well, but on the first conversion most of the particles were in my fingers and hands, learned very quickly for the other two!!! Try one of the bristle brushes with the bendable metal stems and pipe cleaners, those worked pretty well.
  10. Bleed it out by Linkin Park, be warned the new cd is alot more "rappy" than I care for. Also picked up the Chris Cornell solo album and it is nothing like Soundgarden/Audio slave stuff, very folky.
  11. At this point, I would settle for getting him to respond at all... I hate wanting to send somebody money in exchange for things they claim to want to sell, and getting ignored. I'll have to drop him another email. I emailed him last night and had a response in my inbox this morning, says he is 3 weeks out at this point, I also requested pic's. So we will see. I'm in for a group buy.
  12. Quick payment and good communication.
  13. Was that in reference to the Mueller scopes? Yes it was. Still waiting to hear whether or not a .308 is considered a MAGNUM caliber. Don't know about his opinion, but it's not in mine. Heck it's held it's zero on a .308 bolt gun. I think that's more recoil than the S-308 has. I didn't find any fine print on the Mueller website or in my manual that said anything about magnum calibers either. It says it on the gunkings.com website. But if you say yours holds its zero, that's good enough for me. I'm thinking about pulling mine off my 10/22 Ruger and putting it on the

  16. I second Mueller scopes. I've got the new IR Mildot x50 model, but I haven't put it on the .308 yet as I'm afraid the flying brass will bang the crap out of it. Probably going to fashion a deflector just in case.
  17. I think I remember seeing a silenced Saiga .308 on YouTube that was using subsonics and it didn't seem to have any problems, but I haven't tried them myself and I don't know what modifications they made to their gun.
  18. I would just save it and follow the details in the tech section to fuse it into an 8 rounder. Sorry I can't help with the extra parts though.
  19. Paypal is fine, PM sent to your inbox.
  20. Another smooth and flawless transaction from Mike.
  21. Hello, are you saying I have to take the pistol grip off the WASR-10 (AK variant) to use the Saiga sporter stock? Not at all, it mounts just the same at an ak buttstock but it is longer and has a sporter grip on the stock itself. Just look at a pic of a factory Saiga.
  22. Last I saw was $409, went to get it the next day and it was gone. Everyone round here is sold out. Hopefully the next gunshow will pull some out. Got my last one for $275 new in December.
