My father in law has his gun headed out to you later this year for an S17 build and that is the first thing I told him that MUST be done.There hasn't been a single person that I have let either shoot or dry fire that gun that wasn't blown away by how good the trigger is.It says a lot when guys that are use to $300 AR triggers were seriously impressed by the SRT.

That is why I love that SRT.

I shoot Saiga 12s often at Amelia Shotgun Sports (A.S.S. LOL!) in Yulee, FL. I am due for a test and tune soon. PM me if you want to exchange numbers. I may go in the next week or so. I am all for buying new stuff "just because" but if this thread is really about you getting your gun running because you fear a possible home invasion all this talk about unavailable russian mags is ridiculous when it can all be solved with 2 $6 boxes of 2 3/4 00buck. Hell,the Remington bulk 00buck they sell at walmart is loaded hot as hell and will damn sure drop a German Shepherd.Go buy a box of that,load your AGP and be done with it.

How do you like the slip on limbsaver pad? Is it worth the dough for the results? The CTR is a bit "narrow" and can feel punishing, so I was thinking about putting a car stock on it with that pad if it works. It is worth every penny.It completely eliminates the numb shoulder you get after a few hundred rounds of buck. The only reason I went to the IMOD was to be able to use Limbsavers slip on ar/m16 recoil pad.I have a CTR on my rifle and my other Saiga but it is a bit punishing when shooting a lot of buck and slugs through this gun.

This is a USP Full size variant 1(SA/DA with decocker) stainless.It has a KG date code(96).I bought this gun in 2002 from the original owner unfired.It has been a safe queen for the most part but has several hundred rounds through it.This gun is clean and in excellent shape. I have to agree with Parf.I have the standard non push button ACE with the AR/pignose adapter and an AR stock on My Tromix S17.This gun has well over 5k rounds through it and I have never had the hinge come unlocked while firing.

I am a member at FOP in st augustine and can take 3 guests with me at a time for free.Maybe a few of us need to get together and shoot.It seems that there are several jax people here that have nowhere to shoot.I have a dozen steel plates with stands and we can do what ever we want at FOP.You can run and gun at night there using nothing but weapons lights on the steels. Worth mentioning if you are using bowling pins;Do NOT use anything lighter than #4 birdshot on them unless your are shooting them from close up.The 7.5 bulk pack from walmart with ricochet off of the pins and can screw you up.The further they are with the lighter ammo the worse it gets. There are vendors on ebay that sell 8 inch steel plates with pads on the bottom(so they self stand)for cheap.I paid $140 for 12 of them.

Much like top maul and many others here,I am well invested in the Saiga. However, I am starting a 1919 fund. Anyone who easily over looks the potential of this gun is foolish. My saigas run and are durable but this gun adresses the "weak" points (ergos,lrbho,magwell) Once someone starts making mags I am all over one of these.

Tony,you're freaking killing me. That gun with an AR stock,Aimpoint micro,SBS'd and a railed handguard is making me really want one.

Well over 5k in my Tromix and probably 3-4k in my DIY gun.No problems with either.

What he is describing has happened to me and several of my friends I shoot with(one is a regular here I will IM him this thread)many times.To clear this up,it has happened to me with drums only and it doesn't have to happen while I am doing full drum dumps.It happens if I rip off 4-5 rounds really quickly.

I am using an internal reciver block and an ACE pignose adapter with a CTR.This set up allows you to move the adapter,reciever extension and stock up and down to fit your needs.I recently put an Aimpoint micro on the gun and removed the Krebs battle sights and I was able to slide the stock up to the right height without having to use a cheekriser.

I will second what joe just said.I just got my tomix s17 back from tony and he did the SRT and replaced the disco spring.I had the same thing the OP is describing happen to my s17 and my other s12 on saturday(it has done this many times before)while using MD drums.The carrier is dragging the upcoming shell,slowing the gun going into battery,you pull the trigger and the hammer rides the carrier leaving you with a live round in the chamber and an unlocked hammer.Try and "out shoot" one of these guns with an AGP mag.It wont happen.

I took the ace folding mech off of my gun after adding the Tromix/limsaver stock because the LOP was too long,ymmv.That said,it makes an enormous difference in felt recoil.Recoil is almost zero but if you don't pull the gun in tight it will "bounce" off your shoulder with that stock.
