  5. not particularly, but if you wanted to install a red dot/scope mount it would be good. the irons are pretty high on an S12 as is. if it's too high, you can always sand it down. easier to remove wood than add it.
  6. here's a picture to give you an idea how the set will look on your S12: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?act=at...st&id=14002 this set is for an unmodified S12. the wood is jatoba. it consists of: 1) a quasi-pistol grip target stock with limbsaver recoil pad (pad not pictured) 2) a schnabel sporter style handguard, with vents 3) 3 QD sling studs, one on the stock, 2 on the handguard (for a 3-point sling, or 2-point sling + bipod, etc.) the set is unfinished, so you can finish them however you like. $200 shipped, PM me if you're interested.
  7. speaking of the Cx4, does anybody know for certain whether the Cx4 .45 can be made to use the same magazines as the Px4 .45? i've been trying to find the answer online and have conflicting information. currently awaiting a human answer from beretta customer service. anyway, here's what i've found: This answer from the Beretta support database seems to say "no". http://tinyurl.com/2ase2j This Beretta Cx4 magazine chart, however, lists an insert and a mag catch for converting the JX48510 .45 ACP Cx4 to use Px4 Series magazines. http://www.berettausa.com/product/spotlight/magchart.ht
  8. do you've got a CZ97? i always wondered about those... i always wanted a CZ but i hate having so many types of ammo around. so yea, tell us about the 97!
  9. would love to see a reloading section, especially considering ammo prices these days
  10. something like this might work/be adaptable too. or again, you could rig something. attaches to the magazine. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...&t=11082005
  11. if you shoot from a bench you can get one of those nets that goes beside your rifle. never used one myself, so i'm not sure how well/easily they work. my saiga ejects pretty forward so i'd have to probably have to angle it and have it almost touching the rifle while shooting. nothing wrong with that i suppose. example: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...&t=11082005 kinda pricey, could probably make your own. i just thought: it also probably wouldn't be too hard to rig up a charging handle extension so you don't have to remove the catcher. some kind of metal hook wit
  12. actually DaGroaner, you clearly don't know how the appropriations process works. this wall street journal article IS misleading just like Ron's spokesman stated. the fact of the matter is that money is already budgeted before it is earmarked. it is spent either way. if your local representative does not earmark it to help his constituents (you, and it is your money in the first place), some bureaucrat with only lobbyists' interests in mind decides where it is spent instead. like GOB said, he would be a fool not to earmark some spending for his constituents. the important thing is wh
  13. I wonder if I could get him to excempt half of my pay from taxes too. This just proves what a phony Ron Paul is. Everyone should pay the same percentage of tax on their income with no breaks period. That would be just and transparent. i'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that it proves RP is a phony. RP is the LEAST phony candidate out of all of them on both sides, IMHO. he has NEVER voted for a tax increase. you could get him to exempt ALL your income - and everybody's - from taxes, if he had his way; there would be no income tax at all. how you ask? just like Gaddis sar
  14. ... that said, i keep hearing that approx. 70% of the country is against the war and wants to bring the troops home. because of nonstop media brain-bashing on the issue, a good chunk of them will probably be one-issue voters in the upcoming election. the only republican any of them would consider voting for is Ron Paul. so - practically speaking, if you don't want a Democrat in office come 2008 you'd better go register Republican and vote for RP in the upcoming primaries.
  15. here you go gaddis: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/gunowners/ a bit about Ron's history with the 2nd amendment i like fred a lot better than most of the other candidates ... every one but Ron, actually ... but i think if you take a look at his voting/speaking record, you'll find he's just another rich politican. though not nearly as much as Romney is lol. as for the war issue, we've had this conversation several times, so all i want to say this time is that i think it is a bad idea to reject or support a candidate based on one issue. can we spread freedom, democracy, and prosperity
  16. got a factory new, sealed 7.62x39 10rd magazine that I don't need. $25 shipped, reply here and PM me if you're interested.
  17. touche Gaddis. that's one of many reasons I don't vote for Democrats. unfortunately, the majority of "neo-conservative" Republicans these days aren't much better when it comes to spending and subsidizing special interests. however, while an amount of that money would certainly be "wasted" on minority special interests, etc. - after all, spending $ that doesn't belong to it is what our gov't does best - some of those billions would be bound to go to education, the economy, and a variety of other things that would benefit every citizen. plus we wouldn't be in a multi-trillion dollar d
  18. I agree with you that Saddam was a tyrant and a terrorist of his own people. the question now becomes is it our responsiblity (or their own) to improve their situation. i would emphatically say it is their own responsibility and i'll tell you why. first of all, it is simply not possible for America to police the world and help every country. we're going broke right now just with Iraq. who would you suggest we clean up next? where does it end? it is simply impractical. like Dr. Ron Paul says, the best thing that we can do for the world is to set an example of Democracy and Freedom
  19. how is this acceptable when Obama claims that Bush's "same action" isn't? because it's not the same action. Pakistan is where (according to our "intelligence") bin Laden and the majority of the Taliban/Al Quaeda leadership has gone. going into Pakistan - to chase down these criminals, not to depose their government and setup a new one - would be a continuation of our actions in Afghanistan to hunt down and punish those who were responsible for attacking us. a perfectly honorable and justifiable thing to do. Iraq on the other hand, has done nothing but distract us and cause us to
  20. wow, tough talk, very impressive. maybe if you spend more time calling people "right-wing ignorant yokel hicks" and less time being one yourself - or took a break from imagining dropping 30,000 civilians to their deaths - you might recall some actual history: that the Iranians took our hostages AFTER and BECAUSE the good old US of A deposed their democratically elected leader and installed the oppressive Shah. were you expecting a "thank you"? if some foreign country did that to us, would you recommend your fellow American patriots do nothing? it has nothing to do with compassion, or wi
  21. HAHAHAHA that smile on her face is priceless! "yeah, it was ok" sure.
  22. This is so true. "We have been blessed to have lived in a country where the Founders were wise enough to put so much [information and freedom] into the Constitution." -Dr. Ron Paul It is so good to hear words/speeches like this. We really are lucky to live in this country, you could have been born in Somalia or Afghanistan - you were born here, where we have freedom. Even though it is often under attack, we are free. We must defend our freedom! Anyway, check these out (at least part 1, where the above quote came from). It's also interesting/funny to note the user name of the p
