  1. Az... That sucks. I hope that something good comes out of all of this. Hmm... Maybe an opportunity to build an even better one?! Have a better new year, man...
  2. Before you purchase a lower handguard for your Saiga application, you should know that there is an ugly-assed square hole in the bottom for the tupperware vertical foregrip that you will want to weld closed and smooth out. -unless you like that kind of foregrip.
  3. Hey Bob! Did you build that? Definitely not something you would see at legoland!
  4. Nice scatter guns for sure. I like the eleven inch. I just got my ten inch from Tromix. Haven't shot it yet. Still waiting on paperwork. Does the muzzle blast curl back around and torch your hand?, or is that just a special treat from the eight inch?
  5. Indy, each unit shipped will include a hazy xerox instruction sheet on how to drill for, and set a blind pin that inhibits the reciprocating action of these toothbrushes. NY compliance was second only to IL on my list of design criteria for individual state statute compliance. I will not ship to CA.
  6. I'm actually taking pre-orders for a picatinny rail equipped toothbrush that I've been working on. I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag right now as there are still some things that I have to get squared away with the prototypes. But, since you have mentioned it... Right now I'm in negotiations with a competent injection mold maker for a production run of er, like, twenty or so. I know, I know... you guys would rather have one made of steel. Well, let me tell you, the polymer that I have selected is strong as fuck! I'll post a confusing table later on outlining the strength of this ube
  7. I'm beginning to think that it doesn't matter what it is, if you can think of a way to attach it to picatinny rail you can sell it. I think that my next AR will have have curb feelers, a drink holder and a compass all mounted to the forend.
  8. That actually made my morning. Sometimes its nice to be reminded that the arts are not the wholly owned subsidiary of the left. I'm proud to be lifelong fans of Alice Cooper and Ted Nugent. Thanks for this Thread .22_shooter!
  9. I also have a close friend who served in the IDF. His commitment to the security of his home country is astonishing. I don't know how the idea of compulsory service would be received here in the U.S. There is one thing for sure... There would probably not be so damn many pussies among our young people. I see every day young men who have no clue as to how to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Young people with a sense of entitlement who think that the government is there to provide. Metrosexuals who have never had to do without. The wussification of America. No strong role models. N
  10. It seems to me that if the horizontal foregrip were that good of an idea, more of us would be doing it by now. I'm sure that someone would already have experimented this to death. I think the difference in wrist position (although seemingly subtle) would stress and prematurely fatigue the rotator cuff. The ONLY possible advantage MIGHT be to facilitate easier rock and lock magazine changes. I think... surprise, surprise... that the French have tested the horizontally mounted foregrip. If that tells you anything...
  11. Folding stock recommendation... Either the Tromix folding stock or the ACE folding stock. The important thing is the folding hinge or mechanism. In either case both the above mentioned stocks use the ACE hinge. I hate a wobbly, limp wristed, cattywampus, loose, difficult to deploy, difficult to stow, zero cheek weld folding stock, so, I did my research and went with the ACE. The only problem is dealing with ACE. I don't think they are out and out disshonest, but I think they have possibly too many irons in the fire and are often slow to ship and laxidasical about answering their phone. They ma
  12. Thanks for the reminder. It's time to re-up my contribution to this site. I was thinking... A five or ten dollar contribution seems pretty damn reasonable, considering the amount of time I spend here and the knowledge I have gained. And to think,... this is all offered freely to begin with. Thank you SAIGA-12.com and everyone for being here.
  13. Oh shit...! The new guys a poet! Very clever. Thanks for thinking of us on this Christmas eve! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all law abiding firearm owners everywhere!
  14. The tang should be cut off flush with the receiver. Do this with a dremel and an abrasive cut-off disc. Leave it a little long and finish it in with a file. As for the ACE internal receiver block, there is a little trimming to do. Not all AK type Receivers are exactly the same. For this reason you will have to trim the two areas that I have marked in the photo. These two surfaces will occlude with the underside of the rear trunnion. Use a file. File and fit, file and fit... until the ACE part slides all the way in. Don't trim too much because you want the block to butt up against the trunnion.
