  1. Ooookaaaaaay then... I always look for the safety scratch on AKs at the range. Guys with a well worn safety scratch I pay attention to when they speak. People with a very light or non-existant safety scratch... Yeah well..
  2. Woah there. I don't know where you got that reading of the Miller case, but it is very wrong. Miller didn't allow at all for any absolute prohibition of any firearms. It allowed for a tax on firearms that were not of a practical military purpose. There's a huge difference there. Yes, a strict reading of Miller does mean that you have to be part of the militia to own a firearm, but people always forget the most important part of the Miller case... Yes, that's right. You don't have to join the militia, you are part of the militia by default just by being an American citizen.
  3. Maybe I'm reading you wrong, but the Miller decision was very strongly pro individual rights. Also, this new bill clearly exempts hi-capacity magazines or assault rifles possesed before the date the bill takes effect. Not saying I like the bill. It's absolute BS and needs to be killed in a vicious manner. But, we need to get our arguments right if we are going to be listened to.
  4. It was the collection of former NRA Director Bruce Stern.
  5. First off, I shoot dozens of birds off the ground. Some species actually have bounties on them. There's nothing wrong with that if you are culling invasive species. That said though, him shooting through the fence and across the road is most definately illegal. What a tard.
  6. If your rifle is only shooting off mark three or four inches at fifty yards, that is a very easily adjustable amount of error.
  7. Well, there are several answers to the questions. They depend largely on the locality of where you live. Some places it may be illegal to own a pistol grip or high capacity magazine S12. Is there a function differnece between pistol grip and sport stock: No Is there a performace difference: Depends on the user. Some people find the pistol grip version to be easier to point. It really just depends on what you plan on using the shotgun for, and what your personal preferences are. If you like sports style shotguns and want to shoot clays with it then the sporter configuration will
  8. It certainly makes for an entertaining building clearing weapon. Too bad you can't use it on the motorcycle chase level though... something about only using a weapon that can be effectively used one handed... BAH
  9. I briefly thought about locking my first edition copy in a safe so I could horde it in pristine condition to re-sell later at a stupidly inflated price... but the guys at the office got tired of me telling them how awesome it was and pretty much.. well.. I'll save the ugly details, but they got the book. A few laps of the office later, it now has some character to it. Such is the price to pay for owning a copy of MHI I guess.
  10. Please please please let his punishment be having a bunch of pissed off Saiga owners (and Tony) get to jab him repeatedly with Shark Brakes on the end of sticks/barrels/whatever we can get them on.
  11. Holy egads. Were you holding the rifle by the magwell perchance? Normally case head failures dump the mag and blow off the itty bits, but don't really do much more than scare the shooter.. if they are holding it by the fore arm. Oh, I'm not saying I thought it was a case head failure in the video. I'm saying that the rifle was prepped to fail in a specific and planned manner. Consider the failures possible and the physics involved. Water in the gas tube. Not likely. Water in the gas tube would work as a piston. gases coming from the barrel would push the water backwards aga
  12. You should tell FBMG that. http://larrycorreia.wordpress.com/2008/06/...uld-be-up-soon/
  13. You are thinking of Cynthia Mckinney, former D-GA Carolyn McCarthy is the one famous for the, "Shoulder thing, that goes up" quote.
  14. Whoa boy! Calm down a bit. NATO =/= UN.
  15. I saw a Tromix .50ae at a gun show in dallas two weeks ago. Looked real purdy like with "Tromix" in gold on the side. Thought about picking that one up. Though about it a lot harder then I would about picking up on that someone else "changed up".
  16. You know the funny thing about international treaties and pacts... The usually show up written down somewhere. Can we see the NATO pact that stops import of AK based firearms? I've known too many LEOs, and too many "there I was" stories to believe everything that comes out of a blue brothers mouth unless they wrote a report about it.
  17. There is no gun registration in Texas. There is no paperwork required at all for a ftf private sale. However, I do recomend creating a reciept of sale just in case. And I curse at thee Captzeno. I saw a .410 and a convert x39 at that show and both were stupidly overpriced. Curses upon thee! j/k Great find.
  18. I have multiple AK pattern rifles that do it. Never had a problem function wise from it.
  19. HOw I read this the at first glance... That caused a bit of a double take.
  20. RE: Glock rails and extra grips. The ruling is pretty clear on this one. If you have a long gun that can accept the grip, then you can not be held for constructive intent for AOWing the Glock just by simple possession of the two items. If you only have pistols and the grip, then yes you could get pinched for constructive intent. Read the Thompson cases for clarification on this.
  21. Wouldn't it just be easier to kill the Polar Bears, since they produce greenhouse gases just like the other animals and are therefore responsible for their own demise?
  22. You drove off with it. You deprived the owner of his property. There's nothign in the law about you wanting the item, only depriving the owner of it. And unless you accidentally drove off with it you intentionally deprived the owner of his property. Don't you mean, "in my eyes it wasn't stealing", because it's pretty clear that under the law of the state you live in you did commit a theft. Yes, yes, I know that you are going to say again that you had no intent to keep the item. Doesn't matter. Can you show me anywhere in the applicable law it says anything about intent to posse
  23. I guess that no one in the DC Metro police has ever read the Constitution. Come on guys, it's even housed in your jurisdiction. Go over to the national archives once or twice and give it a reading.
