Macaholic, I appreciate your admiration for the Mac guns. What has gotten you into trouble is the way you consistently fight against anyone who wants to modify their mac and the manner in which you conduct your "fight." You've really crossed the line above by labeling the Lage upper as "dangerous." My Lage uppers have NEVER given me a problem (I've had 3 of them). Bob can comment more directly, but that looks like the newer Tromix handguard Mr. Lage was telling me about. The gun I'm selling has the older/shorter Tromix handguard. It is new and without defects. Gunfixr makes a very nifty non-reciprocating FAL style left sided charging handle. Jake

Did you get all the little bugs worked out on your FAL style conversion? How great is the risk of the weld snapping, and a handle hitting your face (on the regular conversions) I don't always have the best reading comprehension, either! Gunfixr's FAL CH is very cool in that it doesn't reciprocate with the bolt. No worries about the handle whacking you in the face. Jake

I happened to be looking at the Leapers/UTG website and saw that this rail is made in the USA...UTG PRO Saiga 12 Ga Quad Rail System. I know we've got plenty of great rails already, but has anyone tried the UTG/Leapers made in the USA rail? Any good? I would really like a chart that compared the various forearm rail units out there in terms of weight, width, etc. Jake

Two point sling. My favorite is the VTAC padded version available here: (Link Reloved) Mr. Lamb the man behind this sling has truly been there and done that. I've used this sling on a converted S12 with good results. Jake

I saw R&R Targets' converted Saiga's at SHOT and was very impressed with the innovation and finish of their work. Nicely done guys! Jake

I saw a couple new drums from Promag for the S12. One was a 20 rounder that looked very similar to MDArms' drum and another was a 12 rounder. Dealer pricing was suprisingly inexpensive. The 20 rounder had a thumb latch to bring the follower down a bit to aid in loading. Rear cover was clear on both drums. Jake

I was a little supprised when the owner of Viking Tactics who fought in some of the nastiest places for our country's most elite force told me he never used full auto when putting down the bad guys. Sure FA is used, but not really with shoulder mounted assault rifles. That being said, FA is fun! Jake
