  1. Link to virus/spam sent to me by this user. As nixon said on Futurama, "Lets cut this turd loose!"

  2. I slapped a military ak trigger in mine and the bolt drags across the hammer as well, its frustrating as hell, but with a dremel and alittle bit at a time itll polish right up. Specifically about the handguard- mine has been an absolute pain as well. I bought a synthetic saiga handguard and it was stubborn as hell to get on my rifle when i replaced the factory wood stock. I took a dremel to it and kept at it and beat it to death, and am content with where it is now. if you got a factory synthetic saiga stock just take alot of the plastic off and beat on it until it caves under your stalini
  3. Alright fella's, we've seen all types of clonesm and now here we have an SR9 clone. In short, EAT IT! The stock is from a yugo ak, highly retrofitted; a total pain. Will post a finished photo with scope tomorrow. Its nothing more or additional on it, s308 with belarus low rise scope mount, barska scope, yugo thumbhole stock, and a simple romy trigger. the updated

  5. Goood friggin show! i can hardly tell them apart! kudos mate!
  6. What youre going to have to do is take loose your front sight block, and move it back, drill you a new pin hole and then fasten the fsb back down. Then, you need a threading kit to thread your muzzle (usually $30ish to rent). Its not too tough at all provided you have the tools. A gunsmith can do it but im sure hed charge a fair sum. As far as I know the only thing you need to buy is the muzzle brake itself and the price of renting a threading kit, maybe some loctite. $45 - $70 maybe. A word on muzzle brakes- if you get an ak74-style brakes theres a different between a double baffle authen
  7. The top covers are interchangeable between my s308 and my romy wasr10. Ive also seen many saigas with the top cover sight on them, just remember it may interfere with various scope mounts if thats an option- anywho, hope that helps
  8. The levers worked pretty good for me, mine also has 4 set screws on it to where i can actually lock it down on the receiver, but i dont have a device to turn the set screws:P. At any rate, theres alot of them out there with levers, and some are cheap and the other ones arent, it can be tricky to find a good one, but atleast you didnt go for the dust-cover-mounted scope mount:P Best wishes to ya and let us know how it turns out =)
  9. What scope mount are you using? A lot of them really are dinky. Mine hasnt had an issue- at any rate, alot work like this. If the outside of teh scope mount is facing you (mine says Made In Belarus), take the lever, lifting it out of its groove, and moving it to the Right. Slide onto scope mount base on your rifle, and then push the mount all the way forward (towards the barrel), making sure that both ends of the scope mount are in the groove of the scope mount base. Then, rotate the scope mount lever forward, then lift it to where the catch tab on the lever is put in the cm-sized notch on the
  10. Power to you mate! You must face off against my in-the-works hk91 knockoff:P. Oh, get this- If youre going with a thumbhole stock (without a grenade launcher, threaded muzzle/flash hider, bayo lug, pistol grip, or collapsible stock) you dont have to add x-number of us parts to be 992r compliant since your saiga wouldnt be classified as an assault rifle =). This meant I didnt have to recycle my whole trigger group- so i wound up spending $5 on my trigger . Heh, dont worry about passing up the sks, you have a yugo anywho:P. Even if you have an akm already, its not 308 like another sks would be t
  11. Dont expect a high powered bolt action rifle, its a good middle of the road gun. Its got more punch than my 7.62x39s and alittle bit better accuracy. Expect the blue to fade fairly quickly (mines showing some rough spots although ive not been at all rough with it). The trigger for the way its built is actually pretty reasonable. Mine has no trouble holding a zero with a scope. Fun gun to shoot, not much recoil at all on my 21incher. All around fun gun. Very easy to disassemble, and once you clean out the gunk grease on the inside very easy to clean. Tons of accessories out there and a million
  12. Whats it matter what the numbers mean? $200 is a great price for a Norinco Chinese SKS here in my state. All the gunshows Ive been to this year have SKSs at $300 base. If you walked out of there with it for $180 Id count my blessings- Id happily pay x-amount for the right item. As far as the Saiga, $400 might be steep if its the 16" synthetic 308. They're what? $370 new? Id try to haggle down to maybe $330ish. Im not sure he'd let you out of there both for $500- even without the pawn-shop markup. Theyre both worth more than that. Ive had no luck cross referencing or decoding those tag numbers.
  13. Acer said it right on. Let this be a visual supplement to what he was saying. http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c198/dea...cture35041a.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c198/dea...cture35043a.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c198/dea...icture35038.jpg The Slide the bolt down into the hole in the bolt carrier, now rotate the bolt until the green node matches the bottom of the red slot, wiggle in, and turn the bolt moving it up fully into the red node. The bottom link there is for the completed bolt/bolt carrier. Again, here for visual aid, acer's details are right on.
