  1. Not to hijack this thread but....I'd have to disagree about my tax dollars going to pay for ESL. I might be wrong and things might be different now (a lot more people from other countries can understand and speak English)however, I know from my personal experience that if it wasn't for FREE ESL my parents might not have learned English as fast as they did. And ultimately our lives might have turned out different. We came here in 1988. My dad worked 14hr days for a $100 a WEEK. My mom worked less but also made less. Paying for rent, food, clothing, children stuff for my sister and I, there
  2. After every conversion I've done (5+) the action has always cycled smoother than before. Everything's put in there right, right? And as far as the BHO and spring, you do know of the fishing line/dental floss/string/etc. "trick" right? It's still not "fun," but it does make it a lot easier to install.
  3. That's funny (well, not really funny) because I noticed yesterday how much dust and lint were in the G19 that I carry. So after noticing that and seeing this thread, guess what's getting a thorough cleaning today . . .
  4. I find it odd that most people that preach "tolerance and understanding" are usually intolerant and not understanding of other peoples different ideas or points of view. Liberals, homosexuals, really religious types (no specific religion) . . . And does a question count as a phrase? It drives me nuts when I'm eating or drinking something and someone asks, "Is that good?/Does that taste good?" I just wanna say, "NO! It's horrible! It tastes like shit! That's why I'm eating it . . ." E.S.L. - English as a Second Language - Look, if you're want to live in America, you need to learn to
  5. That is a sweet collection indeed.
  6. Noticeable but not bad. I'm used to these . . . But to be honest, I did put a Vortex flash suppressor/hider on that 7".
  7. I did have a feeding problem with my 8" when I first got it, but Tony fixed it. So of course now it runs like a top! So even if you did have a problem 1. it would most likely be recognized early on and 2. Tony has a lifetime warranty so I wouldn't worry about it. GET IT!
  8. Triggers: I would recommend standard trigger and doing your own trigger job. The Hogue grip: I have one and love it. I plan on swapping out some (if not all) of my Tapco SAW grips for Hogues. Gunfixers Plug: Get it! I don't use the rest so I don't know . . . And Welcome BTW!
  9. First and foremost (no offense Shannon) I would like to offer my condolences to Dean and his family. +1
  10. If it's really an "S-17" it would have to be a Tromix. Technically . . . (I'm sure Tony or Bob will correct me if I'm wrong.)
  11. 12ga. (powerful and plentiful ammo), 8" barrel (compact), 20 round drums can be had at the ready (and lesser capacity stick mags, too) that can fully reload the shotgun in a few seconds (the 8+ round stick mags are beyond the capacity of an 18+ inch pump), AK reliability, an ever-growing myriad of options and accessories, etc. . . . (I know I'm leaving several things out.) How can you not justify it? ETA: Welcome if you stay and hello if you don't!
  12. That's great about saigateen. I missed that post. My wound busted open after they took the staples out and I was leaking a couple of pints a day of biohazard all over everything. It was nasty as all hell, but the wound is nearly healed back together again. My next deal is radiation and I've heard both good and bad about it. I've heard it REALLY fucking sucks and I've heard it's no big deal. So, I'll find out and let you all know. LOL I haven't heard anything out of Shannon lately. I can't wait to catch up. Well, it wasn't a post. It was on the "Recent Status Updates." And yes,
  13. Sure, another one of you guys to rub it in, LOL! The wood and finish on both of the ones I have had were pretty nice. The wood especially. I think I am going to repaint it with some black grill paint though. I don't want it to rust where I ground down the barrel nut. For the time being I just put CLP on that spot. It's been fine for several weeks now. I finally got the chance to shoot mine, and wow, did it smooth up the action!
  14. Day in and day out I drink Budweiser, but when I want something different, or to celebrate, I like Chimay and white ales. I've tried to like dark beers but I just can't . . .
  15. If I hadn't shaved a couple of weeks ago (it'll grow back) and had darker hair, that's pretty much what I would look like. And damn straight sunnybean, it never goes out of style, just like a T-shirt and blue jeans . . .
  16. Well guys, how are things going? It's been a little while since an update. Maybe it's been mentioned here and there in other threads, I dunno, I've been trying to not spend so much time on the computer . . . I saw a couple of days ago Juggs said that Saigateen's tumor had shrunk by 50%! Kick-ass! Bounce - Holy shit that's one hell of an incision. I assume it's healing well? And Shannon, hell man, you started this , what's up with your treatment? How are things progressing? David
  17. Thank you for the kind words. I hate getting screwed/screwed around, so I try to have great "customer service." And may I say, your communication and payment were both very prompt!
  18. BWAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!! :lolol: :lolol: Oh man! I just saw that on their site! LOLOLOLOL!!!! They make it sound like there is just one gun for sale with the canted sights, but I am willing to bet there is a whole pile of them! When I called and asked for another gun, I started off by saying, "I just picked up my Draco..." and the nice lady on the phone replied, "...and everything is perfect? Right?" and she kind of chuckled. They must have got a really bad batch in. I kinda feel sorry for them now. Well the whole thing does suck, but that's funny as hell! ETA: "that's" being wh
  19. There is a metal (steel, I assume) "bracket" (or whatever you want to call it) that catches on the pin in the gas block just like the original plastic one, so it fits tightly. But yes, there is space on either side due to the larger diameter of the .308 barrel, as you said, oxyehho. But the space is barely noticeable, IMO.
  20. If the .223 is not converted/restored you will have to modify the buttstock a little to clear the pin that holds the trigger. If it is converted/restored, I believe it will fit with no modification. If it does need some, it will be very little.
  21. Well what can I say, sometimes I have a silver tongue. It was a little while ago, though. Maybe they've been screwed over since . . . I've got two that wobble when locked open. One is just a little but the other is pretty noticeable. I may send the more noticeable one back. I've got pretty bad luck when it comes to purchases, but I'm used to that by now . . .
  22. Yeah, I remember seeing that. I don't remember which vendor (not asking) and I don't care to go search, but I do remember thinking that it didn't sound right. If you want to weld up the back and have a stock-less rifle or shotgun, then fine, assuming OAL is legal. But you can't turn a rifle or shotgun into a pistol without swapping out the receiver, right? I know this has been discussed but I just can't remember because that's not something that is appealing to me . . . ETA: And fuck no he didn't care, why would he? He just sells the parts so he wouldn't be the one potentially doing anythi
  23. I had the same thing happen to me. Just contact Tim Mourning at Ace Ltd. and he should take care of you. If I recall correctly, he sent me the replacement hinge before I sent in the defective hinge.
  24. One MILLION dollars!!! Sorry, I couldn't help it . . . And since you joined the day after me, I'll make the price a little more reasonable. Nope, never been on an M4 Intrafuse stock. It's the standard AK version with original HW and I think I might even have the paper, with instructions and whatnot on it, that came with it. PM inbound.
