kresk 10,063
My understanding is that it is pronounced 'See-yah-guh', with a long E, from a native-speaking Russian.
DaGroaner 2
I thought it was pronounced Sigh-guh????

XD45 7,124
Ah, thanks much. But this sounds like say-gu to me. I'll just call it "gun" from now on. They guy says it a couple dozen times and it's clearly "Sie-ga". Guess I'll have to stop saying Say-ga.
XD45 7,124
Is it just me, or is that the fugliest animal on the face of the earth? I think my Sie-ga is beautiful, but it's namesake is hideous!

Benjamin Franklin thought our national bird should be the turkey not the bald eagle using that sort of reasoning and the guy was a friggin genius.
IndyArms 10,186
hmm... Roast Eagle for thanksgiving... Cause the Turkey is protected as the national bird... Eagle, I bet, would taste just as YUMMY as Hooded Merganser SMELLS roasting in the oven... (For those of you who DONT KNOW... Hooded Merganser is a fish eating waterfowl. My buddy roasted one ONCE... never made it to cooked... it got thrown OUTSIDE after about half an hour, cause it stunk the house up SO BAD you couldn't take the nasty fish smell!!! )
