What Sling is on your Saiga-12?

Hello all,

 

When I bought my Saiga-12 it didn't come with a Sling, I was just curious what slings others have used and if they worked good / fit the gun well?

 

Does the standard AK-47 sling with leather strap ends work?

Tantal has the correct Tan Russina slings with the leather tabs.

AK-100 rifles, and pretty much all S-12's that are in my catalogs have this sling.

 

 

 

Get the one with the black leather ring, and the galvanized fittings, which have the rainbowed effect like anodizing to the metal. A search will back this up. 1 of my Izhmash books has the more bulgarian greenish tan as well. black leather ring, and galvanized fittings as well. and these usually have current late 90's, or 2000's markings....my 3 do.

The sling in your first post's pic is Chinese. You can buy the correct Russian military sling (as in the other pics) from several places including www.rusmilitary.com

I added side loop type hook points at the front of the stock and the rear of the handguard so I can use single point, double point, or three point slings equipped with HK style claw hooks.

It's not fancy but gets the job done. Also it can hold shells in case I need a slug or some other round I don't use often.

Who's got a good black sling though?

I've got a Ultimate Tactical Sling from 'Cheaper Than Dirt' and I put it on one of my Saiga-12's. Great sling at a good price.

Walmart sells a nice black and narrow sling that fits. Under ten bucks, will work until you find what you want.

It's a Bulgarian issue AK sling, and it's black.

+1 on the Bulgarian and Russian slings. I have that same sling as DHunter on several of my Saigas, as well as the thicker, softer green one which is also Bulgie.

When I was in the store looking for slings the problem I found with most of them was the attachment was too thick to fit through the factory loops.
