AlexanMD 2
Well I went to the NRA Convention yesterday and found this at the ATI Booth. My understanding is that this is the prototype, that was just approved for import. This sucker was heavy, and felt very true to any other AK. The photos are poor from my camera phone but the rifle had a front notch for a side folding buttstock catch , I was told that would be there in the final product. Not sure how the thing is importable but someone must like GSG. It sounded like it would be several months before this would hit the street. Reverendfranz 160
How heavy? that looks about perfect. I was pretty happy with the GSG-5, but as a practice tool it doesnt do me much good as i dont own an mp5. ive been looking at the romanian trainers, but have some trouble finding one at a decent price. AlexanMD 2
How heavy? Really heavy. Blindfolded one would not notice the difference between it and a standard AK, in my opinion. Receiver was all metal, and not thin stuff from what I noticed.
Cobra 76 two 2,677
Maybe they got past the PG because of the caliber? Strange... Bolt stop selector is nice. I don't like the TG but I can fix that. The buttstock is fugly too. Thanks for sharing the pics.
MD_Willington 11
IIRC most of the retarded laws we all put up with deal mainly with center fire and not rim fire ammo...
taurussvt 0
IIRC most of the retarded laws we all put up with deal mainly with center fire and not rim fire ammo... You raise a very valid point.

jaak 0
i have to say, depending on price and magazine availability, i might pick one up. i could then enjoy shooting an ak(and not breaking the bank) again!
MD_Willington 11
Honestly, if I didn't have to deal with my states retarded laws, I would own one of those plus the GSG5 I have a bunch of .30 cal ammo cans jam packed full of .22LR
SuAside 2
i think the real question is: are they worth it? eastern european countries have had shitloads of .22LR trainers for AKs in the cold war era. is this 'new' rifle any better? and why?
