My Saiga .308 project (pics)

Recommended Posts

Here is my almost completed Saiga .308. All she needs is some glass on top ! I'll have that taken care of in a few days. I did all the furniture work myself and I had all the custom machine work and refinishing done by a local AK wizard. I think the rifle has turned out quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Enjoy :rolleyes:

Great looking piece!

Is that a NoDak flash hider?

I had that FH machined......custom made baby !

I am going to have a nice suede leather cover made for the cheek riser as well. I have spared no exspense on this rifle. I figured if I am going to be a "Bear"......might as well be a Grizzly ! :devil:

She looks good, I have a few questions please:

Why is your receiver longer then mine, your PG fits on the receiver itself mine does not, see;

And is that a sight/brake combo? does the brake thread on or is it attached to the sight.

That's Excellent! I have been looking at all of the conversions here for the past several days and can't wait to get an S308 to start my own. I am looking into doing a conversion very similar to what you have there. I think the mechanical aspect of moving the FCG forward is a real "no brainer". If I can rebuild the drive line and transmission on my bike in less than a week I should be able to finish the trigger part of the conversion in a few evenings.

Where is everyone getting the ventilated hand guards? Are you all making them yourselves?

I have found all the other parts necessary to build a nice conversion but, I can't find a Saiga 308 to convert!! They seem real hard to get lately.
