GerryV 14
Would rather be seen driving the '59 Belair, but would definitely want to be in the '09 Impala in a head on collision between the two. http://tinyurl.com/l3hfrs Edited September 18, 2009 by GerryV
nalioth 405
Welcome to the era of the new forum software. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CU-k0XmLUk P.S. It's a Malibu, not an Impala. Edited September 18, 2009 by nalioth
sudaevpps43 31
Damn, that Bel Air looked to be in mint condition. Couldn't they have found a less cherry Bel Air to sacrafice for that crash test?
TonyRumore 1,332
They forgot to mention that the driver of the '59 probably wasn't wearing a seat belt because seat belts were not installed in the car. I am not sure about '59, but my '50 Chrysler did not come equiped with seat belts at all. The owners manual was pretty funny as well......."while learning to drive your beautiful new Chrysler, find a clear open field for practice." Later it goes on to say "Your new Chrysler does not require hi-test fuel. Any regular gasoline, 100 octane or above is all that is required" Tony
Paulyski 2,227
Would rather be seen driving the '59 Belair, but would definitely want to be in the '09 Impala in a head on collision between the two. http://tinyurl.com/l3hfrs After the accident, the Malibu driver lost his job due to his knee injury. His wife subsequently left him because she was a gold digger & was only with him for his money. However she did a couple of amateur pornos with his brother & best friend before their split. Alienated from his friends, family & wife, the Malibu driver turned to the pain killers for his knee injury to kill the emotional pain & became an opiate addict. He never re-married because no woman would have him due to his addiction, trust issues & poor taste in automobiles. He became a homeless junkie & his mind fell to substance induced dementia. He grew to be a bitter man & lost his faith in the lord. Eventually he wound up in a lousy nursing home with shitty staff. His care was neglected & he developed bedsores which were UNBELIEVABLY PAINFUL, not to mention the pain from his teeth rotting out, because they are never brushed by the shitbag staff. But the small doses of pain meds did little to help the pain because of his high tolerance to opiate based painkillers that developed from his previous addiction, but that doesn't matter anyway because the medication aid at the nursing home was stealing his meds to get high. He died slowly, in pain, in a sea of urine & soiled diapers because the staff didn't change him & they knew that he couldn't tell anyone due to his dementia. His death finally happened when his mind deteriorated to the point that it could no longer make his organs function. He died alone. A bitter man with no faith. He cursed the lord & forsook salvation. I think he would have been better off in the Belair. Edit: F%*K the insurance industry! Edited September 18, 2009 by Paulyski

sudaevpps43 31
.......The owners manual was pretty funny as well......."while learning to drive your beautiful new Chrysler, find a clear open field for practice." Later it goes on to say "Your new Chrysler does not require hi-test fuel. Any regular gasoline, 100 octane or above is all that is required" "...100 octane or above...", LOL, when was the last time gas stations even carried 100 octane or higher gasoline? Around here the only place I know of where you can get it is from the aviation gas pumps at the airport.

It's funny, those old cars with no seat belts, and a steel dash.
