physicsnerd 139
I think a modulation of this type of fungus was the basis for an episode of the X-Files. The fungus would grow inside the person and then burst out of their neck killing them and infecting anyone around them. Gross and creepy!
chevyman097 2,579
heh, if only the human race was so hard core! Takes the infected and dumbs them far away from the colony! lmao

DrThunder88 912
Well, I think we're all in agreement here: the rainforest must be stopped! Seriously though, that is pretty cool however disturbing. The video clip from Planet Earth is great too. I've not seen the whole series, but I love David Attenborough's work and the footage is supposed to be stunning. On the next Sci-Fy original Saturday night movie, Fungus Human Zombies! Starring Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Lorenzo Lamos. It needs at least one softcore pornstar to really be a SyFy movie.

BuffetDestroyer 969
So infected humans will innately go skydiving to coincide with their spore eruptions to maximize spread. I think this would make an awesome Lorenzo Lamas SyFy movie that I would enjoy seeing - instead of the skydiving zombies' chutes deploying halfway down, a giant mushroom pops out of their back and sails them safely to the ground! The snail zombies are pretty fucking disturbing too. We are only one step away unless someone already ate some of that infected bird shit..... Dun Dun Dunnnnnn!!!!
