Marine study finds all-male infantry units outperformed teams with women

A summary of results released Thursday from the unprecedented study showed that all-male ground combat squads were faster, stronger and more lethal in most cases than units that included women.  The women also suffered higher injury rates during physically demanding training.

Only a retard or a liberal wouldn't know that already.

Good men are trained to protect women and children. That would not go well in a fire fight. You would always be thinking about the chick one hole over from you. Is she ok? Boom, you're dead. Just a theoretical.

Can you really carry my ass with gear off the field?

Once a month do we stop fighting. Girls will all be in sync if working together for a period of time.

Got a kick out of the "Rangers" that just passed the class. Yeah, they never gave West Point Cadets any favors in school nor would they give any favors to women under the magnifying glass.

It's all bullshit. Women serve a great role in the modern military, it's just not in the infantry.

It's not limited to the military either. I used to be in construction and run jobs. Every time a woman was hired it slowed the job down. Even if she was a capable employee I'd still have issues with chivalrous guys trying to help her with any task, ignoring their own. I've had to let hard working men go simply because they couldn't focus on their own tasks. Not to mention the "drama" it seemed to create. Very frustrating and avoidable...

My daughter is a freshmen at ODU in Marine ROTC. She can switch to Navy if she wants. I told her either one is fine as long as she gets her degree in Mechanical Engineering.

She does not want to do infantry, but likes the challenges the Corp provides. The Gunny is currently breaking down the freshmen to see who has it and who doesn't. She is holding her own, watching several males breakdown, cry and quit. She said the other day she wasn't sure if she really wanted to put up with all of the extra shit.

My advice was either Navy or Corp get your degree. On the outside though a squid is a squid. A Marine on the other hand will be in a tighter group and looked at with more respect.

I have worked with woman in the Navy and fixing power plants. Some are really good at what they do and some are not. I do know a few that can out do the men working, drinking and fighting.

You may have one or two ladies out of 100,000 that could pull off infantry. Just not enough to make a big deal out of it.

I have yet to come across a woman who could handle swimming pool structural and mechanical work in Florida. Lots of them think they can until it is sledghammer time or when a pool caves in and has to be mucked out by hand and then bedded with tons of #57 stone by hand. They don't generally do very well with some of the more complicated rodbusting. I'm not building your average pools though. The will and heart can be very strong, but the average female body is not built for certain duties.

Pointing out a few examples of women who are as capable as some men does not change the physics.  We don't get to build armies out of the top 0.1%.

But even if we did, the top 0.1% would still be men.

Just stating that blatantly obvious fact makes me a sexist these days.

In areas where physical ability doesn't matter women do as well as (or better than) men.  There are countless ways a woman can serve that don't involve humping a machine gun or carrying a wounded soldier off the battlefield.

When will the politically correct liberal socialist commie idiots ever understand that Mother Nature has found it works best for the species to have bigger men and smaller women?  Duhh.  These dummies are trying their stupid best to determine that evolution is wrong and their ideas are best.

Female affirmative action is a complete failure.  An excellent example would the American Fire Service.  Physically speaking a very good big strong smart male firefighter will be superior to a big strong smart female.  Male brains are wired to protect females.  Nothing we can do about it.

I think it all boils down to the notion of some sort of equality. We are not all equal, period, and it is a fantasy to even think that we are. If we were, it would be a very boring world to live in and no accomplishment or characteristic would be noteworthy because everyone could do it or would have it. I'm all for a woman having enough strength, stamina, and intestinal fortitude to put a man to shame at an activity that men dominate, but those women are very rare. That in itself makes them that much more noteworthy. As long as standards are not lowered to accommodate them and as long as they do their job as well as their peers then good for them. However, if they can't perform well enough to truly be an asset to their team then they need to respectfully withdraw from their role.

I've always said "equal but different" when the equality thing comes up.

Men & Women are equal in value (it would be silly to argue otherwise), but we are different.

We compliment each other sexually and in many other ways.

When my daughter was young, I used that to try to explain that women do the dishes while men fix the cars.

Then she said, but the car doesn't need to be fixed every day. Crap, Mom got to her first.   :)

Most women can't, but there are some who are stronger than most men. I have had a couple of women that could carry their end of a main rail as good as anyone in the crew! Elevator main rails are 16' long and weigh 15" a foot. We used to carry them 2 people to a rail- grab it off the truck, put it on your sholder and the 2 of you carry it into the job and stack it for hoisting. I even knew a woman steam fitter that was as strong as any man on the job, and did some beautiful welds!

Most women can't, but there ARE some that can!

And SOME men are professional football players.  What does a 300lb lineman prove about me and you and 99.999% of men?  Nothing.

The reason that professional football works is that it's a pure meritocracy.  There is no silly notion of equality.  Every player is chosen for his ability.

If the same utterly objective standard was applied to women in combat, yes there would be a few who would make the grade for combat units just on ability.

Unfortunately their presence would still degrade the capability of the unit.  The presence of women is a distraction to men.

Alot of women can but there will always be a number of men that are distracted from their own duties. A woman could be the most capable one of them all but her presence alone will cause a percentage of the men to be distracted and underperform. It's not fair but it's true.
