Jguff330 2
I just finished doing the conversion and I'm not sure if I missed something. I have the tromix conversion from CSS. The new disconnector spring IS in there. It will lock back manually with my fingers but not when I rack the bolt carrier.

Spacehog 2,218
Your hammer is backwards. Or upside down. Flat portion on the hammer wings should face up for the sear (hook) of the trigger to catch.

forsaken352 235
Your hammer is backwards. You let him off way to easy. I had a good little laugh to myself. Not because he didn't know any better, but just seeing the picture of the hammer in backwards. Maybe the next one won't get off the hook that easily, but we all have to start somewhere. All in good fun, of course.
gunfun 3,931
It occurs to me that the only reason the underside is curved is so that it can ONLY work right side up. Otherwise with flat wings, it would kinda work upside down and the armorers would be going nuts.

gunfun 3,931
Yes, but from an engineering stand point, that is a clever bit of "idiot proofing" designed to reduce the number of things that need to be eliminated on trouble shot later. I can respect that. Something tells me the early versions were a flat bar stock with a flat wing inserted and welded.
308SAIGA 55
It's all good, I am just glad you had the since to come here and ask before you took it to the range... The real dumb asses would have gone and shot the thing..... Good Job.....

The back would more than likely have to be rounded, or at least tapered, to work with the disconnector. Especially with the double hooks.
