Paints done. I made a camo paracord sling for it. If Mike done like it...... I got 2 other options with a matching tan and a green. LOL < thinking ahead. Here's how she looks, not totally perfect, but what is? I'm pleased. I did it in Rodesian Camo with a Barbwire overview. Something different; -

Ok, this has been dead long enough. With the nonspectaular use of the Codra mags..... I hunted down a deal on a G3 mag adaptor and 2 modified tapco mags. It really needed a G5 for this kit and the G3 was a FAIL, so I sat down and made the G3 into a G5 with some time and effort. It works nice, and our buddy Mike will have to get use to mag changes because it's almost easier to rock and lock the mags in backwards. I couldn't stand all that sheet metal crap on the front rail holder and rear mag catch. I cut all that out of the equation. I pulled the nutserts from the stock for all the mountin -
Mosin Nagant M44 Stock Repair
akastormi replied to self_inflicted's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
Self Inflicted, Shandianos makes a very good point. With the VZ52's, original stocks are hard to come by. I do own a spare M44 stock. Before you get excited.... It'll add to the fixer upper title. It is solid and not laminate, shows it age of handling wear, not an ounce of finish on it, still smells of cosmoline, has the old style sheet metal sling slide in the front and nothing in the sling hole in the butt. I was saving it, for reasons unknown to me now, I just had to look and see if it was still in the stock pile. LOL It has all the metal hardware, handguard and the cleaning rod. If you- 5 replies

$80 for a top load?? Yeah, I'd buy that. Thier going for $120 +
-
The top load Romanian and Russians are nice. They wont fail you, but you have to have a thumb of steel to load them. you gotta press the lever down for each round you insert. Other than that, they are strong, sturdy, take abuse drums. I like the conture of the slant forward for the RPK's on bipods. I own several drums from Romanians to Chinese and I do like the back load and wind up, but I have had even the Chinese drums jam up. The top loads.... Never had a jam, slip, or any problems. They're just consuming to load.

Mosin Nagant M44 Stock Repair
akastormi replied to self_inflicted's topic in Other Weapons - RIFLES (non-AK based)
I've fixed many a cracked stocks in old rifles, some split right through to the action. If you can get the crack opened up just a little even, use Gorilla Glue. Follow the direction on the package. I wrap the cracked area with surgical tubing to keep things together till the glue sets up. It will hold, you will brake the wood before the glue fails. this crack was right through the side to the action; After the fix;- 5 replies

Well the ranges I visit seem to be; mine behind my house and out back of Nailbomb's garage. So. . . . Not to many people will complain about a Bulgarian bayonet on my Mossberg Persuader. If they do, I'll laugh.

Airsoft Training!?
akastormi replied to Fitty%'s topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
I used airsoft for training... When my buddy would slow down to early in the corners on his racing lawnmower. TING TING TING TING Strange how it worked, it did lead to some horrific roll overs, but he learned. -
Like it says, I'm looking to sell my MAS-49/56 in 308. I've owned this rifle for over 8 years, it has never failed me. I will admitt it is a Century import and converstion to 308. THAT SAID... I have replaced the gas tube that was cut short and had the chamber reamed again. That cured the inherent Century problems with these rifles. The blued finish is worn and about 70%. The wood does show it's age, with some dings and scratches, but with a wonderful speckling grain. It's the reason I never swapped it out. I never did buy the scopemount or scope for this rifle, so please don't ask if I have i

MAK 90 Stock/Forend Options
akastormi replied to kiddykane's topic in General Discussion - Any topic is welcome here!!!
Well it depends on if it's a milled or stamped with a straight or slant cut reciever. Milled- you could use a Choate thumbhole or custom fit any wood thumbhole. Stamped straight- anything will work with some fitting. Stamped slant cut- Choate thumbhole again. If your creative, you can weld the reciever back into a straight back. OR visit Ironwood Designs, they make stock sets to fit MAK90's -
