  1. That brass shit could be some of that corrosive Yugo surplus ammo. If you store your rifle in a safe, take it out of the bag. Those bags tend to hold moisture in really well. Do you have a safe heater(golden rod) or a bucket of desiccant, that will eliminate excess moisture.
  2. Another Father stolen from his child. Another Son taken from his parents. Another Wife now lies in an empty bed. Another Hero vanquished. May your sacrifice never be forgotten. Godspeed officer Taylor
  3. Zak Matthews, you really need to study up on that shit dude. No fukn kidding. I'm in California and have no such right. The only time deadly force is justified (in Cali) is in the home or if one has a mortal fear for their life. If I go and blast somebody for breaking into my truck than i'm pretty much done. Take some advice from an opressed firearms fanatic and licensed collector. Take a class that covers use of force law for your state, and study all the firearm P.C.'s. Knowledge is power my friend and you never know when that shit can keep your ass out of jail. I h
  4. nalioth, your going easy on the guy.......you O.K.? J.K. BTW how is the clean up going down there?
  5. There is always a better way...........Right? I would like to run one of these through the ringer, for me personally 500rds minimum, then i'll trust something. I have learned one thing about firearms and gunsmithing, the oldfarts did shit one way because it lasts. If you want to be sure that a brake will stay put, thread and weld it in place.
  6. It takes a steady hand to do that and get it right my man.
  7. Send it back. I'm thinkin' something isn't lined up. If your running out of adjustment at 25yds the gun's gotta go. Like I said, it sounds like a barrel/trunnion issue. Rear sight is mounted on the trunnion and front sight on the barrel. Those should line up pretty fukn close.
  8. Now that I think about it. When that gun was manufactured,I wonder if the barrel and front trunnion aren't lined up correctly. Thats the only thing I can think of that would make it shoot that bad. Was it grouping but shooting way right? Or just all over?
  9. Usally what they do is, send you a shipping label in the mail or e mail it to you and print and ship. There is no transfer fee's for gunsmith work or factory warrenty work. Long arms are no problem right to your door. Hand guns must be shipped 24hr overnight only. The guy I know was actually shipped a brand new rifle. Cali law states new firearms must be logged in the D.R.O.S.(dealer record of sale) system. If they return your rifle back to you, no fees. It's the same as if you sent it out for refinishing.
  10. Send it back, there might be something really wrong. I know a dude who sent in,he got a brand new rifle delivered to his house. (I don't think that's exactly legal here in Cali) Hell they might throw in some mags, has the rifle been converted?
  11. I think it's OK, it's straight up and down, think I'll open up the slot in the rear sight and just put the front post to that side when aiming. That aint right, where did you get the rifle from. Shop, private party? Call RAA send it back and make them fix it.
  12. Yes a fucking porta band. After the cut has been made, you chuck the FACING CUTTER into a cordless drill. The facing cuters have guides that fit in the bore of the weapon. The guides go from .17 cal up to 12Ga. Brownells and midway sell them. The guide keeps the cutter at a perfect 90 angle the the bore. The cutter will knock out any imperfections in the saw cut. The first barrel I did was cut with a hacksaw, that SUCKED. When you use a cutter go REALLY SLOW and use cutting oil. Don't force the issue, those tools are really fuckin' hard and get very hot so juice em' up and get the heat
  13. Is the front sight base crooked? If it is well get it fixed. If its not........not sure dude. I don't think i've seen any after market drift adjustable rear sights.
  14. I've chopped a few rifle barrels with a Porta band saw. I use a facing cutter to get the muzzle lined up with the bore. I'm sure that set up would work for a shotgun , if the proper guide was used with the cutter.
  15. Nope can't say that I have. You ever heard "Too Drunk To Fuck" by the Dead Kennedy's.
  16. Sounds like your front sight base was pinned on crooked. I bought 2 7.62 X 39's together and they were both spot on at 100 yrds. I took it out to around 225 yrds off hand, all my shots were dancing around a 8"X 8"steel plate. There was nother dude that had a X 39 same with his. There have been reports of the FSB pinned incorrectly.
  17. It's cool bro. Buy what buy can afford. The point is when the TAPCO breaks don't be supprised. The ACE is a superior product with a butt load of options. Trust me we are all feeling the pinch. I got hit by a car while riding my Mt. bike in San Francisco. I've never tried to fly before, it really wasn't that bad untill I landed. Broken wrist, concussion, fuct sholder and back. Oh yeah I have a new born (she's 4 1/2 mos now) and a 14 year old son. Bustad up body and no money........I feel ya homie
  18. I was gonna say 4" penut grinder with cutoff wheel, and then swap out to grinding wheel to clean up the cut. Maybe little paint or somthing to cover up the exposed metal.
  19. Hey have you looked at keyboard cases or maybe try a case for an effects board.
  20. From what I have read, the law is still the same. Muzzle brakes ok, flash suppressors not ok. I haven't seen any updated info regarding the topic, BUT this law office is one of the most well known for gun advocacy. Hmmmm -Joe Where did you read that Joe? I just read the law. N.J.A.C. 13:54-1.2 i (4) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accomodate a flash suppressor. What I see is the barrel better not have threads at all. If anybody is planning to attach a muzzle brake, needs to get in writing a clarifacation from the New Jersey Attorny general office
  21. Your G.T.G. I would take a couple of pictures during the fab process, and put a USA mark on there. Maybe a name too like paladinco or something. On a surplus rifle forum they were talking about this very issue. What do you plan on making a stock out of? I've been thinkin of going the custom stock route. If I want a pistol grip then a mag lock must be installed.
  22. www.aceltdusa.com Don't get TAPCO stocks. There is a running debate on the s-12 page and the consenceus is TAPCO is not garbage, but there is way better out there. Check out the ACE stocks
