  1. Here's what the statutes say for PA: §6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license. (a) Offense defined.— (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2), any person who carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm concealed on or about his person, except in his place of abode or fixed place of business, without a valid and lawfully issued license under this chapter commits a felony of the third degree. (2) A person who is otherwise eligible to possess a valid license under this chapter but carries a firearm in any vehicle or any person who carries a firearm
  2. Dummy me. The definitive thread on this feature is a sticky at the top of this board (Case neck Swelling PICS). Here's a pretty good pic: Regards, Sapper
  3. Sumsky, I think I found one in Schneiderman's thread. If you look at the picture in the first post of this thread, you can see a step in the chamber above the red circle he drew. Unless I'm mistaken (and I very well may be) this is the step. I'd open mine up and get you a picture, but I'm on a business trip away from my beloved x39. Schneiderman's Thread Sailor tells how to determine if the chamber is stepped in this thread: Cowtown's Thread Regards, Sapper
  4. Sumsky, Thanks, I know a lot of guys here don't care for the OD furniture but it fits me fine. The mag is from K-Var (Bulgarian, 7.62x39, OD green, 30round, polymer waffle-pattern magazine) and can be found on their website. At the time I bought it none of the board sponsors here sold them, but they may carry them in stock now. I bought this x39 in July 2009 and it is marked as a 2009 production. It has a flat trunion, did not have a threaded barrel, did have the pistol grip nut hole, and had a dimpled versus pinned FSB. I think this set up was pretty standard for the time it was
  5. Sumsky, The dimples are located immediately above the magazine opening in the receiver. They are approximately an inch to an inch and a half long and about an eighth of an inch wide. You can see them in this photo of my x39. They are present on many of the newer guns and are supposed to provide reinforcement for the magazine when inserted. Like NB said, though, your rifle will function just fine without dimples. Regards, Sapper
  6. Sumsky, Nailbomb beat me to the punch, but everything he said +1. Pay special attention to the FSB as some are canted from the factory. This isn't a hard fix - and some people live with it if it isn't too bad - but why not save yourself the effort of straightening a crooked one. I've never heard of any S-12 type vodka special issues that affect functionality in the x39s. Good luck! Regards, Sapper
  7. Here's a few of mine... S-42 Mauser, 9mm Parabellum, produced 1937, Waffen stamped, all matching numbers Mauser HSc, .32 ACP, produced 1941, Waffen stamped, all matching numbers Ruger LCP, .380 ACP, produced 2010 (post-recall), every day pocket carry B.U.G. Elsie Pea in one of her many dresses. Regards, Sapper
  8. Sartwell, Sweet Stick - Congrats! BTW, Which TG is that? Regards, Sapper
  9. Here it is almost finished. (Still have to refinish the AK-74 FSB and muzzle brake.) Regards, Sapper
  10. Thanks Mike! 5121, 6121 & 7121 Regards, Sapper
  11. Smitty, Congratulations and Essayons! I'm sure you tried your best to sell him on the glamorous and exciting life of the Combat Engineer, but I don't blame him. Engineers do all the work while the Infantry gets all the glory! Ask him if they still sell beer in the vending machines in the barracks over there. Regards, Sapper
  12. LG308, Thanks for the super generous offer, but if my wife is serious and I get a new S-12 for Christmas I'll probably just build it with stamped furniture. I was completely ready to change my evil black gun into something more traditional, but I can't pass up the opportunity to own one of each! Thanks to everyone here for the kind offers of parts and advice. This has to be the best community on the Internet! Regards, Sapper
  13. lg308, I'll join your "Wicked Sensitive Crew!" Regards, Sapper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3eZ-KgwXkY
  14. Thanks GKFC, I was kind of thinking the same thing. How long do you think the wood screws would have to be for this to be a stable set up? Also, is the neck of an AK stock wide enough for horizontal screws like those on the folding mech, or would they have to be set vertically? I'll probably never butt stroke anyone, but I don't want it to break the first time I set it down. Regards, Sapper
  15. Guys, Thank you all for the great advice and suggestions. This is why I love this forum! Thank you Cobra for your kind offer. You've helped me out more than you know (I've read damn near every post in the archives over the last year). Luckily for me, I got an e-mail from the wife last night (it's 0820 here as I post this) asking what I'd like for Christmas. Since it looks like I'm going to be home for the holidays this year, she said Santa might bring me a new gun. I had my eye on an SGL-21, but I think I'll get another S-12 and build my AKS-12 from scratch (the SGL-21 sale ends be
  16. I guess in my book "regular" and "almost unheard of" are contradictory terms. Well if you like it so much there maybe you should look into immigrating. Good luck with that. Really, Flash? That's a bit trollish don't you think? And while I'm not going to feed the troll, a closer reading of my post will show that I DON'T think we should adopt their criminal justice system. Theirs is a flawed philosophy (as is ours - ask the families of Mike Huckabee's mistake). I was expressing an opinion that obviously differs from your own. But a childish remark like "maybe you should loo
  17. Greetings all, I'm tossing around the idea of changing my evil black S-12 into a more traditional-looking AK wannabe. As you can see, I cut the tang to install an internal block and ACE folder. A quick search here indicates that my only option for installing an AK-style stock on my gun now is to replace my rear block (hence the need for a new tang). My questions are: 1. Are there any AK-style stocks that can be used without a tang? 2. If not and I need to replace my rear block, do I have to use a Bulgarian rear block or can a Romanian be made to fit? 3. Just how hard is it to

  19. So what are these 'regular amputations' being done for if there are no crimes being committed? I wrote "almost unheard of." And there are no repeat offenders. Regards, Sapper
  20. While there may be some validity to the studies that show capital punishment is not an effective deterrent in the US, I'm currently in an "extremist Muslim" country where I can safely walk the streets at midnight with hundred dollar bills hanging out of my pockets. Violent crimes, street crimes and property crimes are almost unheard of in places where criminals regularly lose body parts. I've witnessed public executions here on two separate occasions, and I definitely feel safer here as a kafir (infidel) than I do as a citizen in most American cities. Do I think we should adopt their criminal
  21. Cobra, You rock! Thanks for the pics - they're exactly what I was hoping for. Regards, Sapper
