  1. Good lord!! I'm all about function>form but JEEZE! it's like..... maybe they go out of their way to make stuff ugly as hell! That's even worse than the AR one, which was at least starting to grow on me because everyone says they work so well. This one here..... It's an example of why American design went to the shitter sometime in the 70's or 80's. I'm sure it's function is great, but it looks absolutely horrible, almost as if it was a joke. I suppose they might sell a few, afterall there's people around that swear Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliants were driveable cars. Sorry for sla
  2. Is this flying under everyone elses radar too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JzVEKVRAh4&feature=player_embedded I stumbled upon it by chance, the link was on STU's about us page http://saigatechusa.com/
  3. Mine was SO close to not working. On mine the dust cover has to be removed before the aimpoint/rs mount combo. (which was extra tight because of the added dust cover retention hood I added.
  4. I agree with TX, few people in the US know it's potential, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. I just wish the stuff was cheaper and more available.
  5. The mounting is similar in that the top tang is the same length/screw hole location on the rear most screw, there isn't a screw under the recoil spring button, BUT being that it's a thumb hole stock, the grip screw mounts it as well. So it's a lot sturdier than if it were a regular milled stock
  6. Speaking of the stock..... who makes that one? It appears to have a little more drop than the standard ak tapco. It's from a milled Bulgarian rifle, I got it from the bargain section on kvar's page, just looked to try to find a link for you but didn't find it on kvar or arsenal's pages
  7. PA, I didn't see those pics till now, I like your set-up alot, it looks clean without the rail (funny how people are about stuff like that, if we dont have it, we want it, if we have it we wanna take it off! Haha) I was thinking of doing that monster brake on one also, do you have any other pics of it?
  8. The factory rear sight? It's one of those things I just didn't do yet, I plan on smoothing that area down when I blast and park it (one of these days) for a while we didn't have the ability to park a bbld receiver, that's since changed but I have a couple irons in the fire so to speak. Glad to see so many people like it, it's feels good to give something back to the forum even if only a few cool pics. (btw I barely got the handgaurd at a gunshow, the guy selling it didn't wanna sell it to me after I told him what I wanted it for because it "wouldn't fit and couldn't be made to fit"....
  9. Well build another S12! (duh) lol That's what I'm about to do cause for some reason I gotta have laminate and rifle sites too
  10. Thanks, but it's cause it is! The grip itself is actually off a beryl, but I thought the 74 style HG matched the stock better, so I only used the VFG part of it. The VFG is nice on the rare occasions I use drums
  11. RS Regulate AKM mount, I got it from Primary Arms
  12. Thanks, funny thing was, this one was my 1st and a "throw together" I have another one I'm about to start soon that I believe will be a step up by avoiding the things I ran into building this one (plus changing it up with some variety some)
  13. Looking forward to shooting this, as you can see it co-witnesses very well.
  14. thanks for making me want a 3rd S12!
  15. Can someone explain the difference between the two new pucks so that a dumbass can understand the difference between the two? Thanks in advance.
  16. I haven't been on the forum a whole lot lately and hadn't seen that before, thanks a lot for posting the pic. Who could argue with that being bad ass!?? On topic of practical, Lets face it, Most of what we do in this hobby is because it's cool, I know some people wanna say they're planning/training for this and that, maybe some are, who knows..... I know if I needed a shottie for HD I'm grabbing my 870, cause they can take it into evidence and it'll look a lot better in court! Back on topic, the more I think about it as far as the recoil goes, it wouldn't be any different than being kn
  17. I'm wondering if there's any factual knowledge out there if the 1pn-34 (big 1stGen maglite size night vision) will hold up if mounted in the S12? Thanks in advance for any experience.
  18. Unless you're using slugs exclusively, your shots are never going to be in the exact same place anyway (for the sake of argument assuming they would be all in one hole using a scope mounted on a rail or whatever) My point being, it's a shotgun, not a precision rifle and the cover isn't going to move enough to throw your whole pattern off. (IMO)
  19. The people that are making these crazy comparisons are making comparisons comparable to comparing a AK74 to an AK74su (or to be fair, even comparing an AK74s to an AK74su since those are both folders (yes I realize neither of the Saigas fold, but just to compare apples to apples) my point being that you either "get it" or you don't. I'm not criticizing those that don't get it, a regular Saiga does most people fine, even a modified Saiga does most people fine and that's fine too, but to think that you could modify a standard AK to "krink" status isn't feasible. (possible yes) but by the time yo
  20. Sorry if this was asked before, but will these accept an HK style night sight insert? These look awesome, I have one converted S12 and one I was gonna leave stock but.....I think I need to be ordering some stuff in the not too distant future!
  21. Does anyone plan on, or already make a replica of those RSB/FSB?
  22. Because the 25rd drums didn't come out yet....
