  1. Sounds like you have diagnosed your problem, the mags. Here's my guess, your gonna have the best luck with Izzy magwell mags or Molot Vepr mags. Seeing how your SGM Tactcal mag fell out, I'm guessing your mag latch isn't bottoming out all the way. You might need to fit the mags (no matter what brand you buy) to the gun. Dispite SGM Tacticals warning, I have found that their "Vepr12" mags work just fine in the 433 and 412, but are tight to insert. The Izzy mag latches are longer than the Molot Vepr latch. This is why your SGM Tactical mag is so tight. As I said before, they will fall out
  2. 100 series Russian folder. Hands down the best option out there. Now, price and effort to install might be of concern. But, if you want the best there it is.
  3. I only know of one aftermarket puck for the Vepr. Carolina Shooters Supply makes and sells it. It is exactly the same as the factory one but is made in the USA. so,it can help with your parts count if needed. I do not know of anything like the old "magnum" twister pucks for the V12 and if I did I would probably steer clear.
  4. Congrats. It feels good doesn't it? I was diagnosed with cancer at 18. I found a malignant melanoma on my hand. Underwent surgery and annual visits to the dermatologists ever since. That was twenty years ago. It feels like a lifetime ago.
  5. I guess I won't ever join now seeing how I can't post photos of me with my nunchucks and knuckle dusters. Too bad 'cause you guys would be all jealous and shit. Facebook = fucking high school revisited.
  6. Not a problem as in...they lock in, and feed shells as well as the others?Sorry. No functional problems. I was just mentioning that the two I received had shorter locking lugs. Basically, the face of the lug that the mag catch slides down and locks on is shorter than the other mags I have received in the past. This will cause a bit more vertical movement in the magwell. It's not a problem for me as I have swapped out the factory mag latch for a JTE mag latch. The JTE latch is longer than the factory latch. So, in my gun, these mags fit nice and tight without modification. If I had the
  7. Damn. Glad you're okay. Hope you come out ahead on the deal.
  8. The two I ordered from MolotUSA had rear lugs that were shorter (more material removed) than the other four Molot V12 mags I have. Not a problem, just interesting.
  9. Things of beauty they are...
  10. It will work if you go to the more reply options but not in the quick reply box.
  11. The latest update (4-5 months ago) killed it. Which, IMHO, sucks. When I made some adds on the WTS section I found that it allowed me to link to photobucket. Outside of that, I do like yeoletool suggested.
  12. Sunny, couple of things, as you know due to the very wide tolerances in AK and Saiga platform weapons there is a break in period that we advise. We tested these mags in six different S20s, the only issue we have had is the tightness of the eighth ninth and tenth shell when fully loaded. What we found that works the best is to load the mag on an open bolt and load the mag up with seven shells to start with and fire this way two to three times for a break-in period. Then load the eighth ninth and tenth and cycle until they all feed without issue. We also over-engineered the springs, you ma

  14. Those were imported to the US as model 108. It's been a while since I have seen one. I had the same sight rail on a 20 gauge but took it off and sold it to a member here a while ago. I'm gonna guess you'll have a hard time rounding one up. I know Cobra used to seek out the rear site base that came with those for a neat project he does. On the handguard, you shouldn't have any problem finding one here. If you make a donation and become a "contributor" you can throw up a WTB add. Good luck.
  15. That's the best news I've heard all day! Thanks for posting the update.
  16. red_cedar, Right now, the 040 runs better with low brass because it has more dwell time. The 030 is cut down and the 10 slot FH is pinned. I need to make time to do a little friction reduction work on the 030 and it should run low brass without issue.
  17. I have done business with Dubya. He is gtg!
  18. Congrats! Looks great! Question for you, did you throw on the faux booster to add barrel length due to it being 5.56? Or do you have some other plans in mind? I have passed on the 106UR models because I didn't want to go that short in a 5.56 in an AK. But recently I've begun to talk myself into one. Once my newly acquired 106CR goes back to Arsenal for repair (and the F1 is approved) I wanna cut my barrel to .5" from the 24mm threads and thread it 1/2x28 so I can run a suppressor or cover it up with a booster.
  19. The hippies wear just as much, if not more, tin foil than you guys.
  20. well that will put a hold on me getting any until I here better results. I hope you get that worked out. Just because they don't work in mine doesn't mean they won't work in yours. It's the way things go with these guns. Lol. Just posting my experience. More feedback from others is needed so we can all learn.
  21. I don't know how common this is, but I had a couple SGM Tactical mags that were functioning fine in two guns but hanging up in another. When the mags were not loaded into a gun they seemed to function just fine. Once loaded into the problem gun, the mag's follower would hang up near top. When I would load them empty on a closed bolt, the follower would stray down the depth of the bolt. If I would push the follower down with my finger it seemed to free up about 2" from the top. But, once I removed my finger, it would then hang up about 1.5" from the top. If I pressed outward on the sides
  22. Posted in the other thread but following up here as well. After adding the JTE extended mag latch, some fitting was needed. Mostly, the Molot mags needed a touch or two with a file. Of all three brands of magwell mags that I have (Izzy, Molot, SGM Tactical) the SGM Tactical mags are the most consistent when it comes to tolerances at the lugs. None of the SGM mags required any modification to work with the JTE latch. For whatever reason, someone sanded too much material off the front of my 040 magwell at the factory. I am now going to attempt to fill it back in with JB weld. One word of
  23. After adding a JTE extended mag latch to all my guns, my mag latch length is standardized. Some fitting was required, mostly on the Molot mags, but now all mags fit exactly the same across all platforms.
