  1. Here's a photo that shows the different models. The one AZG posted is a Saiga 040 (IZ-407).
  2. Dubs, What AZG said. The 040 uses the same adjustable gas system found on most Saiga 12 guns. They differ from the 109 by having a different RGB, hinged top cover, top rail, front sight, and some have magwell's. I bought mine like this... http://legionusainc.com/iz-412-saiga-12.html Then, Leland at Sierra Ordnance Company added the 100 series folder and refinish.
  3. In an effort to take one variable out of the equation, today I swapped all my magazine catches to the JTE extended version. Here is one issue as to why we're are all experiencing different results when fitting mags. Ahhh, Russian tolerances. I need more time to look at things because there is something else going on which is allowing some mags to seat deeper in some guns than in others. One thing I did notice was that my 040 magwell had been sanded on the front creating a looser fit. Anyways, here is part of the problem...
  4. Lol. I know, I know. I just wanted to see it. I do have to admit that I have a DC-9. I bought it for nostalgia. It reminds me of being young and drooling over them with my little brother.
  5. I asked the guy at the LGS if I could see the AB-10 (Tec-9) he had under the glass. He asked, "Oh, that grease gun thing?" I couldn't help but laugh out loud. It goes both ways Tony.
  6. I can't bitch. Around Christmas, I was sitting on a pile if doubles or triples on a number of guns. Needing a new truck, I sold everything I could stand to part with. Folks were tripping over themselves to run up the GB bids. I haven't been keeping up, but during the panic $900 was the norm, if not low. Now, if I needed one and wanted to spend hat kind of cash I would buy a noncoverted 030 from Legion Arms USA.
  7. -Matt Damon told The Sunday Herald in 2003, “I actually hate guns. They freak me out.” http://www.nypost.com/p/pagesix/stallone_schwarzenegger_and_more_7WZv9jKHBtYkyIGQty5XnL Shit! I thought he was good in the Bourne stuff. Fucking figures.
  8. Someone took the wrong approach went somebody said to, "Fire one up."
  9. Ordered three VG Tacticsl mags and had a chance to try them today. I did not have good luck. The feed angle is too low for my gun. When loaded with anything over five rounds, they would not feed. When loaded with five rounds and under, the feed angle seems to increase and I didn't run into as many problems. Compared to every other S20 mag I own, these have the least amount of curve, or angle, when inserted in the gun. Still scratching my head...
  10. Horrible iPad photo showing a Molot mag in my Saiga 040...
  11. My 030 and 040 run the Molot mags without issue.
  12. You guys won't beleive me but but I wore Whites for 15 years nd wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are a good boot but the quality has taken a turn. Oh, yes Tony, they are in Spokane WA. If I were to go with a logger boot again, I would buy Nick's. Also built in Spokane. Due to the high heel of logger boots my Achilles started to give me fits. It let to lots of issues in my feet. So, many years/miles later, I went to a flatter soled boot. Believe it or not, I am soooo much better off in either Lowa Baffin's or Scarpa Fuegos. They last about half as long but only cost half as
  13. Super cool. Those obliques are awesome!
  14. Don't go with the super extended one that has a bolt on button. That, IMHO, is too big. I had one and would unexpectedly drop mags because I wouldn't hit it on accident too easily.
  15. Distal, Awesome! Can't wait to see more. Do you have any Molot Vepr12 and/or Izhmash Saiga 12 magwell magazines? I'd love to see them.
  16. Gotta love the loose Russian tolerances. Lol.
  17. Well, i'll be damned, it does have a lrbho. Without having both SGM style mags in hand to measure it is hard to tell much. One thing I do notice that your SGM 030 mag doesn't have, but the SGM Vepr mags do, is the little furring hump a few inches down on the rear on the mag. The factory mags have something similar as well.
  18. SGM 030 mags do have the LRBHO slot and function rather well in my Iz-447. Really? Did they change the design. I could have sworn that they did not have a LRBHO when they were first introduced.
