1. I received mine today /Me likey like Mikey! I can definitely see this as a left side charging handle, which I want very badly... Mo'money
2. I stand all amazed, that someone would start spending money and fucking around with a FIREARM, and not know 100% what the fuck they are doing. OH, Wait a Minute... No I'm not
3. Don't make any modifications until you've taken the time to put at least a few hundred high brass rounds thru it, this is to test functioning and break it in. Make sure it is in good working order and not in need of any reliability servicing covered under warranty... Don't void the warranty, until ya know its a keeper. Very first thing to do is check the ports, three clear ports minimum, then complete disassembly, check for burrs, lightly lube, shoot the shit out of it to break it in. Once you get acquainted with'er in her sporting form, you'll appreciate'er even more with'er freak on.
4. Very proud, sad to think they have no real plans to continue the program, besides pay the Russians to ride their rockets... Sad But then again, we probably won't be able to afford that by the time this Administration/Government gets done trashing our economy. I remember as a kid in like 3rd grade, watching the glide tests being done off the back of Jumbo Jet. Been watching the shuttles go up and down for a long time now. I have a couple friends that have their pics taken in freefall with the shuttle going up behind them... Very cool! There is not one Astronaut that would not have
5. Hey Bolivian, I just bought a new Saiga 12, I took it to the range today and I can say without a doubt that it is awesome! Everything works out of the box, although I did buy some 10 round mags. I also bought a recoil buffer, but I wanted to shoot the Saiga once before I installed it, and those slugs certainly do deliver a lot of kick, so be prepared if you plan to shoot slugs. Also I'm a Saiga 12 forum noob, lol The use of recoil buffers in the S12 has proven to be problematic. If Mr. Kalashnikov had thought it needed a recoil buffer, he'd have designed it with one
6. Screw dental floss, I use 40lb fishing line... It doesn't break so easily, unlike the damned dental floss. I use it to pull the spring down, and then reverse it, and use it to pull the rear leg onto the BHO lever. And yes, notching the BHO lever, makes inserting the safety lever a breeze. Retaining plate FTW! With these, I have reassembly down to a couple of minutes max.
7. Hmmmm... $500-525 vs $700... You decide. I'd tell'em I found a better deal, see if they'll come down significantly. If not, then I'd buy $300. worth of good 2 3/4" 00 & slug, save the rest for FFL transfer fee, and whatever is left, spend on more ammo. Just my $0.02.
8. No, 3" are just fine, gun is designed to fire them. Just make sure your using the lowest gas setting and OEM recoil spring. Not alot of added benefit, except perhaps for some hunting. I wouldn't shoot'em alot, as they can/will increase normal wear & tear. No, do not shoot anything less than 2 3/4"... The gun is NOT designed for'em... Safety first!
9. Defense/Combat OK we've specific scenarios and ones that calls for max reliability and stopping power. NO.
10. Mags, as long as they're in good, dependable, working condition aren't the deciding factor for me. Deciding factors IMO are, 1) Crimp & cartridge material, will it consistently feed well in my gun? 2) Ballistics, fastest, furthest with the most energy? 3 ) Shot, how many pellets? 4) Price, money talks. As far as I know, they both are 3" 000, and both have 10 pellets at 1225fps. I'd have to buy a couple boxes of each, and shoot'em to see if one has any/more FTF/FTE than the other. The most consistent wins... If neither has any FTF/FTE, then price decides.
11. 147gr 9mm is in IMO, really over rated This is not just my opinion, research it for yourself. Best bang for your buck is a good 124-125gr +P,, Cor-Bon Self defense or Speer Gold Dot are good, I use the Speer. Some will even say the Cor-Bon 115gr +P is better than the heavier 125gr, due to its ballistics. Bigger is not always better.
12. Don't bother with serial numbers. Inspect the gun, open the gas block and confirm both by sight/touch, use a pick to check the ports, minimum three open ports. Surefire & AGP have the best reputations for stick mags, only other real choice is OEM mags. I've Surefires, and every one has fit/functioned 100% brand new. MD Arms 20rnd drum, no other contenders.
13. Welcome! First off... $700, your getting Cancel that layaway if you can, without taking a loss. Ya should save for awhile, and then buy online for $499-525 and pay less than $600. with S/H & FFL transfer fee. Prices keep falling, by the time ya have your cash, it may be alot less. Impulse buys are sucker buys... Don't be a sucker. .................................. Remember, when ya do get it in your hands, inspect it. 1) How many ports and are they clear? 2) Take it to the range with a couple boxes each of low & high brass, try both on both gas settings, shoot
14. I keep liking the way that Warsaw looks on so many S12s, I may just replace my M4 stock... Spend yet more $$$ on this shottie
15. Wow+ Again, mine required some exertion to install, much tighter than your average prom date Nice solution, I saw that threaded hole when I inspected my new Krebs. .............................. XXasdf, I've only used the original sights and Krebs. I can compare to my other guns equipped with ghost ring sights, and say, "Krebs Rock!" Best bang for your buck, ease of install & functionality is great. Super fast target acquisition, excellent sight picture and accurate. I shoot alot of slugs and absolutely decimate 10" 'Shoot-n-C' targets at 50+ yrds, with most shots inside
16. where in Alabama? nothing in Northern Al I'm in LA, that is to say, Mobile.
17. Well, if you haven't voided the warranty yet... Send it to VanKiller/RAAC, shoot him a PM, he'll fix ya up.

I advise using some sort of pick to reach into the blindspot and see if you have two hidden/partially obscured ports.
Often the gas block may partially/completely cover two ports, using a pick (a bent paperclip works) you can reach in and feel unseen ports.

I have three ports, but can barely see the foremost two, using a pick I was able to ascertain that they're there and clear.

Have you fired the gun yet?

20. 1 = high brass 2 3/4" & 3" 2 = low brass/recoil Always start/use with the lowest setting that your ammo will reliably cycle the action with. If you get the Gunfixer plug, -1+ is for high brass/magnums and then work thru settings 2 & 3.
21. Tapco Stock and Saw Pistol Grip from Carolina Shooters supply Fire Control Group and Tromix do it yourself trigger guard from Mississippi Auto Arms Front AR style site and rear ghost ring from Krebs. I used a lacquer pen to fill in the white parts and a red paint pen to do the red in the "F" I also used a set of 1911 screws to fill in the holes towards the back where the original FCG was located. As this was my first attempt at this sort of thing, I stuck with the basics. I must say the hardest part was removing the factory rear sight. It took two cutting wheels and about
22. Now, if you desire options, you're likely going to need to observe 922r compliance as you exchange parts. 1) Do you want to convert, i.e. move the FCG to its original position? Then you'll need to... a) Pick a new FCG b ) Decide whether you want to reuse the original trigger guard or buy a new one. c) Pick a pistol grip. 2) Choose your buttstock & forearm. 3) Choose and install, either a Chaos or KA, US made gas puck. 4) New sights? 5) Brand of US made magazines? 6) Muzzle attachments, brake, flash hider, choke or just the thread protector? ..................
