  1. Normal, the gun won't cycle without it.Puck or piston? According to the manufacturer, the actual piston is the puck/tappet, not the piston attached to the bolt carrier. There are two aftermarket pucks which serve as 922r compliance parts, the Chaos & King Armory, and the KA tappet (puck) due to its design also serves as a upgrade The S12 is a little different from most piston driven semi-autos, in that it has a gas puck (tappet) in the gas block which operates the bolt carrier's piston, rather than the piston being directly gas driven.
  2. Low brass seems to pose a issue with the majority of S12s, it just wasn't designed for wimpy shotshells.Either feed it the high brass it desires... Or put the four items mentioned above on the gun, should eat pretty much anything after that. Other things you could do, would be to add a port or enlarge current ports.
  3. [info'mercial speaker] Folks, you get not one, but two! Yes, two loaded drums... And thats not all, reloads! You get not one, but two reloads! Now folks what would you pay for this? All this in a handy dandy container? All this, with our Bonussssss cutting board? [/info'mercial speaker] Looks good!
  4. Can't go wrong with the Gunfixr plug, no matter what it is a fine accessory. And the KA puck should, as designed, make maximum use of all gas, especially helpful for low brass loads or if slightly under gassed. Two other accessories to contemplate, both will reduce the amount of force it takes to cycle the action. 1) http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...inspring/Detail 2) http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...r-recoil/Detail What kind of cycling problem(s), and with what kind of ammo(s)? Have you counted & checked the gas ports, should have at least three clear
  5. I've used all three, original, Chaos and KA... They all worked, no noticeable performance differences.I'm going to have to give it to KA based on, it's fit within the gas block, it's design which is supposed to maximize its use of available gas & the material of which it is constructed.
  6. Definitely not a SBR by definition... Take it to the range and fire for effect.
  7. And you have been shooting it with a bare tube sticking out the back of it? Hello bolded text... He hasn't fired it.It is a rifle awaiting its proper buttstock, it is for all intents and purposes partially disassembled. It is not therefore, IMO, a SBR... Tho my opinion does differ from that of the BATFE. I think your safe as long as your not taking it out for a little work out at the range.
  8. Can I get a credit towards my next purchase? I plan on picking up the new Tromix Charging Handle, http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=548 EDIT: Just got your PM, yeah, credit on my next purchase. I'll send it in asap.
  9. sounds good, bit size? I used a 3/32.
  10. Greetings Mississippi Auto Arms, I was perusing the site and noticed a recall on the specified part, ***TAPCO Saiga 12 & 20 Gas Piston (SAG0701) *** I'd like info on returning the part in question, is there a replacement or a refund/credit?
  11. Wolf 00/slug Get mine on the cheap at Sportsmansguide.
  12. As part of my reserve stockpile, I keep 350 rounds of 00 & 150 slug, 500 was just a nice number and fits nicely into two ammo cans. For target & GP, I keep anywhere from 100-500 on hand, mainly Winchester #7.5/#8 100rnd value packs and Winchester Super X 00/slug 15rnd value packs.
  13. Chile, Was this just a superficial chip, or was the mag modified? Curious because of the 5 year warranty and why you wouldn't pursue that? Good tip BTW. A good sized chip outta a floorplate, I dropped a loaded 10rnd Surefire mag onto concrete at the range.Overfilled the area with JB, let it cure, filed/sanded, like it never happened. I bet you could rebuild feed lips and such with it.
  14. If it ever does wear too much, or you crack/chip it... May I suggest any of the JB Weld products as a quick fix... Worked for me. Mix, apply, cure, file/sand to shape and your good to go.
  15. I have to wonder, he list it as having a TAPCO G2 FCG, yet its not converted... Hmmmm... Lets put a half decent FCG in it, and still use that shitty linkage. That's like the proverbial casting of pearls before swine ............................... 14 -7 = 7... Compliant.Of course there is what some hold questionable, i.e. the possible issue of using mag parts to meet compliance, &, whether or not the thread protector is a Muzzle Attachment and constitutes a 15th part for compliance.
  16. Question: Will using the 25% reduced power recoil spring with high brass loads lead to excessive wear & tear, if not outright damage? Answer: Yes, in time it'll definitely damage the rear trunnion, and possibly the bolt/bolt carrier too. ......................... Ya need to use full power recoil spring on high brass.
  17. Mine has 7-8, depending how you count'em.
  18. yeah, when cutting down from 12 to 10-8, ya don't mod the spring. Now going down to 5 rnds or less, I would think ya'd need to mod the spring. I'd be thinking about what the average spring force was for the 8-12, and then use some sort of scale, e.g. fish or trigger pull, to figure how much spring ya need before cutting. I just went ahead and bought a Surefire 2 rnd in case I go outta state.
  19. LMFAO, the red dot is specifically designed for crossbows... Think it'll handle the S12's recoil Truglo TG8350b http://www.truglosights.com/content/produc...d_dot_sight.asp
  20. I buy it for as cheap as possible, anywhere I can find it. Really, seriously... Just keep your eyes open and anything half decent that is -$1.00 per round, grab it. ............................. For good clean target blasting fun, ya can't beat Federal or Remington 100rnd value packs for $23-26, or 25rnd boxes of Winchester's Super X 00/slugs for $9-14., at Wally World or Academy Sports. I bought 250 rnds of Winchester Military Grade 00, from Cabelas for ~$6. per box of 5rnds. Fiocchi #4 Buck/00 buck, 10 rnds for $5.97, and good deals on Wolf 00/slugs, at Sportsmansguide.com
  21. Cheap POS bead, with too short of a sight base anyways, ya did yourself a favor. Time to buy a Krebs Combat sight and start seeing a better sight picture. Once you've the Krebs installed and the FSB co-witnessed on the remnants of the bead, you can grind the rest of it off. That or fuck around with welding a new BB on

    Jams

What type of jam, failure to feed/eject?Is this a new gun, with relatively few rounds thru it? If so, it may just be a matter of breaking it in a bit more. Lube, put a little grease on those metal on metal areas, oil the rest, dry lube magazines. Check mags for tight/rough spots, fix as needed. Check you gas ports, at least three (3) and clear. Helpful accessories for any load, is the Gunfixr plug & KA gas puck, better control/use of gas. For low brass/recoil, try the 25% reduced recoil spring/hammer spring, less force needed to cycle the gun.
  23. for now, until the atf says its the piston, not the puck ^^This^^At any time the BATFE can rule that it is the piston/puck or both. Regardless, people have bought these, and since I haven't a notice posted... I posted it.
  24. Most of us have heard of the problems with this part warping... There is now product recall on them. http://www.mississippiautoarms.com/index.p...products_id=177
