  1. Those're decent prices. I'm tempted to buy an 8 to replace the one I sold recently.. but I bought a SA M-7 Classic this week and that pretty well cleaned me out for a lil while. GL with the sale, Mullet Man. I'm sure these items won't last long.
  2. Of the 3 choices available, I voted for AGP.. even though I've gotten better performance from Surefires. As others have said, the absolute best looking S-12 mags are the OEM 8-rnders. The rock'n'lock look best, with the magwell 8s a close second.
  3. Pics of the bullet guide would be useful.
  4. I miss not having to worry about an all-powerful Fed Gubmint that's openly hostile to the Constitution and which of our personal and economic freedoms they've chosen to attack that particular day in the name of destructive socialist "change". I was a kid in the 80's, and I miss Reagan.
  5. I think your spending priority should be to re-up your prescription/s.
  6. I didn't do anything special, (as we had ~50 mph gusts on hot days Sat and Sun), just a BBQ late Sun afternoon and a litte shooting on Monday. I put ~150 more rnds through the SGL21 with the Slide Fire stock, and I gotta say, keeping a 5+ rnd burst "on target" at >30 yrds is difficult, though spraying down the general area is no problem.
  7. Yeah, you really have to dump a lot of shells through a S-12 in a short time to make the gas tube uncomfortably hot. It's a lot easier to do with a Saiga rifle. After ~60 7.62x39 rnds fired quickly, (bump-fired bursts), even the front of the receiver is warm to the touch, while the barrel, brake, gas block, etc are hot enough to burn flesh, (or flash-melt snow, fun in the winter), quite easily. Anyway, I think your build is very clean and well-done, BlackNet.
  8. I don't think that's necessarily true. Both mags may be within the standard manufacturing tolerences, (loose, obviously), but that welded bullet guide may be just fucked enough to only allow one to work. Obviously, I don't know if it's the problem in this particular case, but anytime I hear "welded" and "bullet guide" in the same sentence, red flags go up.
  9. It seems like someone else here must have, but I have not. I don't have any Rio #4 buck, just their '00, but once I get my S-12 parts back from Lone Star Arms, (I'm having my bolt carrier and handguard updated ), I'll pattern some shells and let ya know, GunFun. I haven't forgotten your "Slide-Fire 75-yrd Challenge" either, but honestly; I very much doubt even the smoothest factory select-fire 7.62x39 rifle on the planet is particularly accurate at ~75 yrds past the 2nd rnd when fired offhand and set to "rock'n'roll". Suppressive fire doesn't have to be that accurate to achieve the d
  10. Hmm.. this is the first time I've seen this particular problem. What were you moving it with, a hammer and chisel? Anyway man, the part should be cheap enough and any gunsmith, (or anyone with a decent selection of tools), should be able to replace it.
  11. Thanks for the clarification, but it's listed as "VEPR" nearly everywhere, even by firearms dealers. So, in most cases, you're more likely to be understood if you refer to it as a "VEPR" rather than "Vepr". Well, let's come up with some acronyms for VEPR then. I'll start: Very Excellent Pretty Rifle Vyatskiye Polyany Rifle Very Exceptionally Ponderous Rifle They're just plain overbuilt and too heavy in any caliber under .308 or x54.
  12. Rio "Royal" Buckshot is good, reliable ammunition. It's normally some of the least expensive available, (still not what I'd call "cheap", no buckshot is), and has always functioned flawlessly in my S-12 and pump gun. I do wish it were star-crimped rather than roll-crimped, so it'd fit in a drum, but the difference in price more than makes up for that.
  13. That looks nearly identical to my SGL Saiga rifles. I have to say that you did a great job, man! You were much more thorough in your build than 99.9% of the Saiga sporter "103" conversions I've seen.
  14. The easiest solution to this problem is to either punch or grind an upper, (safe), position detent into the receiver for the nub to run into before it leaves the receiver and moves up onto the bolt carrier.
  15. Ya wanna see a real high-pressure Glock "kaboom"? Here ya go, in 10mm... The guy who was holding it when this happened wasn't seriously hurt. I think it's impressive how well Glocks handle overpressure.
  16. Hmm.. that's not a bad idea. I think I'll grab a rifle on my way to the bathroom right now! *edit: Ah yes, that was an enjoyable dump, and the first time I'd practiced shouldering and aiming my rifle from that particular seated position.
  17. I do kind of wish I'd kept the "regular" Draco I bought for ~$340 back in '09. Not because I think I'd shoot it that much, just for the appreciation in value. But, I sent it back to Classic Arms because the fsb was a bit canted... then put that $ toward another SGL21 and forgot about the Draco. There were a lot of good deals to be had in fall '09.

  19. I don't need the stock for that. I'll beat em to death with the fsb and lugs.. and maybe use the bayonet. but what is it's a hippie? Do hippies need to be killed in a particular way, like other bloodsuckers? If possible, I would knock an attacking homicidal hippie to the ground and curb-stomp em. Seems fitting.

  21. Yep. That was a bad reload. This problem seems more common with .40 S&W than other pistol calibers. A KKM.
  22. I doubt that was the cause. Even if you're shooting soft lead rnds, (which, to be on the safe side, most people shouldn't do), a Glock's barrel has to be very dirty to have any kind of overpressure problem.
  23. Great set-up, Jim! She looks badass. What's the barrel lengh, if you don't mind me asking?
  24. I'm just curious; why do so many 10/22 owners seem to dislike the stock Ruger irons? I've never had a problem with em. 'Course I don't know if they've substantially changed in the last 16 yrs, (when I got my stainless carbine).
  25. Thanks for the pics, man. She looks great! I haven't yet decided between that model and the IZ-433 for my next S-12.
