  1. I am guessing most will not return them due to the wait time or some other reason. A buddy of mine purchased a Promag 10 rounder and has had nothing but trouble with it. He gave it to me this morning when we went to the range. When i got home, I deduced the shells were getting stuck at the top of the mag, as seemed to be the common problem with these mags. As stated earlier, I used a screwdriver handle to spread the sides out a bit and ran boiling water over the area to let the poly give a little. I them ran cold water over it to "set" it. Once I cleaned the mag up, oiled the spring and reasse
  2. Went out today to the range and put 75 Remington sluggers through the Promag 12. In a word, FLAWLESS! Promag got it right with this drum. I look forward to getting another one soon ....... after I get my MD20.
  3. Just got mine today. I had to file down just a very little bit on the rear shelf where it was contacting the mag well. I got it to fit yet still nice and tight. There is some slight side to side movement but it does not bother me. I hand cycled some shells through it and there was no issues. Now I need to get out to the range.
  4. I have a DPH tri rail for the Saiga 12 which I modded to use Knights rail covers for trade. Comes with three 11 rib KAC covers. I had this mounted to my S12 however I did not fire it while it was on. It is in fantastic shape. All hardware included. I am looking to trade it for: 2 AGP 10rnd mags
  5. I love my Chaos extended quad rail. After removing the rear factory sight blade, the Chaos rail went right on using an allen wrench and a few taps of a rubber mallet. Took less than 2 minutes to install. I do suggest using a drop of blue locktite on the screws.
  6. As to the AR tubes. Which is better? VLTOR or the CAA? I know the VLTOR is milspec and the other is commercial. I am wanting one of these with a Magpul MOE and thick stock pad.
  7. Just got home and installed my Chaos rail with sights, and it's great! I also took my Primary Arms RDS (Gen 1, but very similar to the Gen 7) off my Draco, and it co-witnesses on the S12. I'll be getting a Gen 7 soon as my Gen 1 has survive over 2500 rounds on my Draco! Oh man, good to hear. The Gen7 should work then. As a side note, I ordered some TXM covers and they do in fact fit the Chaos rail perfect. I'm ordering the Primary Arms Gen7 dt on Monday.
  8. It's top bottom and sides. I did have a full ladder panel laying around and tried it. You can cover all but one notch with one ladder panel on the L/R sides and bottom. On the top you have seven notches exposed using one ladder panel if you have Cameron's HK sights installed as I do. So three would cover 90% of the rails. Maybe buy one more to cut up and use for the remaining notches. Outstanding, thanks.
  9. Has anyone gotten/tried the 8 rounders or cut their 10 rounders down to 8s using the new floorplates? Just wanted to get some feedback before I go cutting mine down.
  10. Now that I have the Chaos extended quad rail with the HK sights, I have been looking for an optic that would co-witness fairly well. The Primary Arms Gen7 red dot looks good in that it mounts very low on the rails. Would this work? Also, will the Magpul XTM rail covers work on the Chaos rails?
  11. Wow, that is a nice stock. I don't mind the right side fold since I would not shoot it folded anyways. I would get it for it's compactness in transporting or carrying. My only concern is the poly folder button. I wonder if they sell just the button in case you wear out the original. Not to say it would wear out but I tend to abuse my guns. BTW: What is the length of pull?
  12. You need to move to Florida. No state tax. Cost of living is much lower than Kali and houses are dirt cheap now. Drums for everyone.
  13. I would save some $$ and get at least 100 rounds of 00 Buck or even slugs (2 3/4" will do fine). Buy a little at a time if $$ are tight. Once you have them, go out and shoot the S12 on setting 1. The S12 has to be broken in. Mine is a 3 port but all are clear. I would suggest if one of the 3 on yours is blocked, send it in. Don't give up, it's a great weapon. Lots of great guys on here who know all about this shotty. They have helped me a lot and are great to talk to. Before you know it, you will be knee deep in mags and drums. Oh, and welcome to the wonderful madness that is the S12.
  14. I had the same issue on my S12 and my Yugo M70. It's an east fix. You just have to tweak the spring leg with a needle nose a bit to get it to stay. After I did mine, I had no further trouble. There is just something about the AK platform that reminds me of my old 84 Chevy K5 Blazer. Easy and enjoyable to work on and lots of fun to beat up.
  15. Whoa, wait a minute..? I am quite new to quad rails for the S12, especially an extended rail. Thankfully, mine is being shipped out 2moro with the HK sights! In reference to your post Fox, do the rear and front factory sights need to be ground/removed before installation of the Chaos extended quad rail? I removed the rear sight is instructed for install of the Chaos rail. All I did was duct tape off raound the rear sight to protect the finish and used a Dremel with a high speed cut off wheel. Took less than two minutes. I got 90% through the middle of the sight and just gave it a tap.
  16. The Saiga platform is good quality and overall a good investment. That said, yes the furniture sucks but lets face it, when you convert (restore) the S12, you are going to ditch the furniture anyways. Some S12s may be rough out of the box but there is so much potential for it to be what you deem as perfect. Railed forends, multiple stock offerings and a wealth of aftermarket parts will help you realize your dream S12. It's not just a shotgun, it's an adventure into an enjoyable project that results in your version of a kick ass Russian shotty. My whole reason for getting a S12 was to have
  17. When did you purchase your quad rails IIRC 10-12-10
  18. the new css polychoke has all those features covered. side by side comparison before after big difference Nice...
  19. Mine went out yesterday as per a reply to my email. I'm going to prep my S12 by removing the rear sight tonight. Woo Hooo!!! Should I leave the front pin sight on or remove that too?
  20. Funny you should say that. The pumpkins are already in the back of the truck awaiting their fate on Saturday. Many thanks for the opinions on the Sluggers. I've only used Speer Lawman or Winchester slugs through my S12 so I figured I'd ask.
  21. We just went through two classes on bomb identification. Very interesting yet scary stuff. I would have done the same thing as you.
