  1. Absolutely correct regarding LE. Most would be there if they could, but unfortunately most of their time is spent writing reports, cleaning up the mess, and the only contact they are able to have with those unable or unwilling act in their own self defense is to deal with the aftermath, If you haven't read it, the following is a great essay. If you have read it, it's probably worth reading again. Either way, I'm sure you will relate. http://www.gleamingedge.com/mirrors/onsheepwolvesandsheepdogs.html WS
  2. Well now, wait a minute. Loaded with slugs your S12 is effectively a .73 caliber canon. No match for a .50 BMG, but with a 20 - 30 round drum, not bad for a civilian defense weapon. I'd love to take that .50 cal to the range! WS
  3. BTW, you are asking us to play "Pin the tail on the donkey" here. If you think you have it all figured out but one word - why not post what you have? Even if it isn't in English the information could be helpful in assisting you to figure it out. If you are just looking for someone to match wits with you - I'm afraid the image quality leaves everyone else at a distinct disadvantage. WS
  4. Also - hard to tell from the image. Is the first word "Jager"? This could have bearing upon who recorded the date, and what date was actually recorded. WS
  5. IS the date recorded as 6,02, 1979? If so the export date could have been either Feb, 06, 1979, or June, 02, 1979. A better image would help. WS
  6. Try photographing it with a timer and tripod outside in full shade without the flash. The glare makes it almost impossible to read. Thanks. WS Also bear in mind that continental Europeans record dates using Day, Month, Year as opposed to Month, Day, Year as we do in the US. WS
  7. Fifty bucks seems like a small premium to pay for peace of mind, a warranty, and customer service. JMHO WS
  8. The 9mm round (IMO) can be extremely effective in the hands of someone who is proficient with his weapon. Many times I think we get caught up in an obsession about caliber size here (bigger is always better), when we should be concentrating on training and proficiency. My own drills tend to center around how fast I can get the firearm out of the holster, on target, and dispatch rounds on target to center of mass, and head. I am personally fond of Mozambique, double tap, and head shot drills. If you don't have a piece of personal real estate you can use for drills, I recommend investing
  9. What kind of feedback are you getting from Iraqi police officers? I'm guessing they're using them a great deal more frequently than our domestic LEO's. WS
  10. Have looked at both and use the Tromix guard on some of my builds. The engineering is excellent, and installation is fast and trouble free. I haven't used E-Tac's, so I can't give you any guidance there. WS
  11. Also, I wouldn't worry too much about a little dust. I continued shooting mine during a sandstorm at the local outdoor range this week. Never missed a round or a target;) WS
  12. The over travel is normal. The simplest solution would be to install a second stop toward the top of the receiver, but that could prove cumbersome, and interfere with operation of the charging handle. Once you get used to it, you'll learn to manually stop the safety in the proper position. WS
  13. Apply the Duplicolor sparingly and evenly. Use just enough to cover, and wait for it to completely dry to the touch before applying the next coat. You shouldn't need more than two or three coats - max. I think you will find your results are much more satisfactory. The instructions on the can are for painting engine parts, and aren't really useful for painting guns. If used the way I have suggested, I think you will find it is excellent paint for the S12, easy to apply, and easy to touch up. My guns get lots of use, sometimes take a beating, and no matter what finish I have used, I have

  15. Price range for a used 19 is usually between $400 and $500 dollars. Price differences between new and used are generally nominal. I have purchased both new and used, and have found no difference in the way the guns shoot. I'm actually quite surprised at the accuracy of the 26, but the 10+1 capacity has me carrying the 19 most of the time. Once again, with thanks and gratitude for your service. WS
  16. The hole is there to eliminate back pressure and resistance to backward movement of the piston. The hole allows gasses to escape behind the piston (puck) as it is forced backward by hot gas vented in from the barrel. Closing the hole works directly against efficient operation of the gas system. WS
  17. Cool video, and website, (that I can't read, as it's in German), but, of course, we can't buy Molot Vepr-12's over here. Why must you taunt us so?! I clicked on their "Hosen" link on the left side of the page, but alas, was not what I expected from a European web site. Ja, nun... Was erwartest du denn von einem europaeischen Website mein Lieber? Schwartze Lederhosen mit Stahlknupfen vielleicht? Sag mal! Mit besten Gruessen, Waffenschmied
  18. I heard on public radio that the world has plenty of money for investments. The problem is that there is a lot of skeptism on many investments out there that investment bankers are stimyed towards making a move. I'm sure once the books open and the right people are able to see how profitable Izhmash can be, that there will be an influx of money that would bring new blood into the company. Its just a matter of "wait and see". Until then.... just like last year, let the panic buying begin. UPDATE: Izhmash was purchased by Cerberus Capital Management, who plans to build a factory in
  19. I was a bit confused at first and thought the post may have been from England. Brain fart... I was wondering what brit in his right mind would cut down a barrel with Britain's draconian gun laws. But that begs another question. Do the German models have a fully functional gas system? Some of the European models I have seen in You Tube videos require one to manually rack the bolt carrier back to eject and reload (completely retarded). I also remember a post from a Frenchman who had an S12 with no gas ports. He was very keen to learn how many ports to drill, how large and at what angle.
  20. Is the gun gas piston operated or manually operated? I ask because you may or may not have to have a look at the gas system. If it has been disabled, there's no point. WS
  21. You're kidding, right? A double barreled breech loader, with a scope and tactical light for almost five hundred bucks... Dude I can empty a 20 round drum into a target in the time it takes you to bust that thing open and reload two shells. To each his own my friend. Have fun with your tactical stage coach gun! WS
  22. C'mon Camon. That's Herman Munster himself - none other than John Kerry!
  23. As kids, most of us recited the pledge of allegiance every morning as school started, and in social studies and history classes were required to learn about our country and the principles of the founding fathers. Regrettably, while most of his contemporaries were doing exactly what I have described above, little Barry was attending a Muslim school in Indonesia, and presumably received plenty of indoctrination while attending the Madrassa. Perhaps the poor little tyke, confused by his fathers abandonment, and subsequent replacement by another Muslim father figure, forced to abandon the
