  1. The way these politicians talk these days I honestly don't think they give two flying fucks about re-election. We are witnessing something historical here. GOOD POINT!
  2. She already has a pump Mossy .410, a Marlin .22 mag bolt action, and a Remmy 597 semi .22. I got a .44 lever to go with my .44 revolver. I have a feeling she'll go with the Kel-Tec pmr 30 when it comes out. I can live with that, because she shoots with me a lot and is getting pretty consistent.
  3. Don't underestimate the power freedom. I have L.E. buddies and servicemen friends that have told me that they swore to protect the constitution at all costs. Sure there will be 'yes' men who do what they're told, but there are a lot of guys on the ground on our side. The old fat asses in the offices won't go door to door. Besides, most politicians don't want a violent blood bath on their hands-not good for re-election. Hopefully, we can get the sick bastards out of office before any of this happens.
  4. I agree folks, a .410 slug is 96 grains and for her to control it, I have my doubts. The .45 LC in anything but cowboy load would be too much too. I dislike the .380 because it's about the same as the slug in weight and power-maybe less. The only revolver she likes is that darn Judge, I can't talk her into a 38, which is on par with a 9mm. I showed her the new Kel-Tec pmr-30 coming out, and she might like that. 30 rounds of .22 mag would bring a lot to the table IMO. I always choose revolvers for the obvious reasons: always cycle, not picky about ammo, you take the brass with you-in case you d
  5. Come to think of it, mine beats the hell out of brass too. I don't care so much about that as it doesn't like HP ammo. It cycles FMJ fine and it even cycles HP if I only put 4 of them in the bottom of the mag. I'm playing around with springs and making my own follower to see if I can improve it. I got a Promag 40 round drum to cycle 35 rounds-that's pretty good from what I hear.
  6. Welcome aboard. You'll find every piece of info needed to do any Saiga here. The "other" forums are a blast too, a lot to learn and discuss. Best site on the web, period.
  7. I watched a couple more of his vids while I was there. He's the first conservative spokesman I've seen with real entertainment value. As for the Indians, they never had a chance. They may have been uncivilized, but they are human and they were born here. But to the victors go the spoils, right.
  8. Hell of a show. Traffic sucked, there was a monster truck show, some quilt show across the street, and $8 parking. It was in the big building-thankfully and even though it was crowded, the isles were wide. I'd say about 1,200 tables. Lot's of selection, very few sham wow, jewlery, non-gun or knife related tables. Prices were all over the place, but mostly in line with reality. I saw a Saiga 12 for $459, a Saiga 7.62 for $329, Yugo under folders for $559, .30 carbines still at $600-they don't seem to move. Handguns were all pretty reasonable from what I saw-I wasn't really looking for a new one
  9. It's hard to believe that with all the revenue that would create that it hasn't happened yet. Besides the tax, you would have producers, distributors, after market do-dads, etc. I think it's a combination of moral leaders, alcohol, tobacco, and pharmacies not liking the idea of more competition.
  10. I got a long one for $94 and it's in great shape. A quick check list when looking at one. 1. Bring a flash light and look down the barrel, if not bright and shiny pass on it. 2. Work the bolt, if you need a 2x4 to cycle it-pass. 3. remove the bolt-just hold the trigger and pull the bolt back. Major damage or messed up pin is all you really need to check. 4. After you get one, laser bore sight it and use a sight drift or hammer and punch to adjust the front site. mine was way off so the bayonet would fit. It's accurate as hell, but years of welding and cnc laser and plasma has my eyes a
  11. Check out the furniture these guys got from another part of the site. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=51829 I'm going to make my own, and if it's not too much of a pain in the ass, I might make more to sell at a reasonable price as a hobby. I'm making a transparent green set for my S-12, then transparent black for a 7.62. I'm also using curly and tiger maple because it's my favorite wood.
  12. D'oh! I'll let ya know how it went. Crowds, overpriced and crowds..... I pretty much know how it was going to be but I was really hoping to find a Mossy 500 Bantam in 20 gauge or 410 to see if the LOP is the same as an M1 carbine. (The M1 carbine seems to fit the g\f perfect but I can't afford another expensive mouth to feed right now). Sucks because she was actually excited about going. It's going to be nasty, there's a monster truck show there this Saturday too, so I'm expecting a crowd. I got my wife a Mossy bantam .410 and she loves it, if you can find a 20 gauge, get tha
  13. She has her ccw and carries a Walther p22 loaded with cci stingers, I know, I'm not happy about it either. She has her heart set on a Taurus judge public defender-I got her a .410 pump, and she likes the idea of common ammo. And she also likes the Walther pk380 for it's obvious similarities to the p22. I've been trying to push her towards the 7 or 8 round Taurus .22 mag revolver, or a nice little .38 revolver. She won't budge. So here's the question, out of the pk380 or the Judge P.D. which would you trust more. I trust revolvers more myself-.44 mag Taurus tracker, though I'll probably get the
  14. I'll be there Saturday around 2:00-2:30. I hope it's in the front building this time, it's a lot less congested in there. My goal is to walk out of there with a Saga 7.62, a 5.45, and my buddy wants two 7.62's. If I can't find 'em this time, I'm having Stoneybrook order them. I'll have a black (Slayer) hat on backwards, I have about a 3" chin beard, and a little red-head wife with me. If ya see me, introduce yourself, I look forward to meeting fellow Pa posse.
  15. A-36 will be fine, be sure it gets the same clean and paint that your plates do. Rail road plates are a great idea. Steel in general is pretty cheap until you get into the exotic stuff like aus-8, vg-10, galv-anealed, D-2, 12%+ chromium stainless, etc. I used to shoot dull circular saw blades with my uncle when I was a kid.
  16. I've got one on my S-12 from before and now after the conversion, and it's not terrible. I replaced the saw grip with a Hogue. I'm waiting on my curly maple lumber to show up in the mail and I'm going to make a nice wood set. The adjustable stock only serves the purpose of making the gun smaller for transportation since I only shoot it at the same setting for repeatability. These guys are correct about the trigger-night and day, and also if you don't intend to convert for whatever reason, get a new fore grip and gas puck and stick to U.S. mags. I hate to see good people become criminals for br
  17. Use any grade of cold rolled, clean it thoroughly with acetone or rubbing alcohol, and paint it with a good outdoor paint-Krylon is a good inexpensive choice. Stay away from hot rolled because it rusts much quicker and the quality of the grain may cause it to break or shatter from repeated impacts. I laser cut plate steel a lot and I am very familiar with the properties of the steel. Hot rolled stuff has a lot of inconsistencies that make it a poor choice for just about anything. High grade tool or spring steel would just be overkill for this purpose. Hope this is helpful.
  18. I hope they work better than the 1911 drum and 15 rounders, I had to do a lot of mods to get them to function.
  19. Don't forget about South Carolina and Idaho pushing to drop the dollar and go back to precious metals. "Give me control of a nation's money, and I care not who makes the laws"-Rockafeller.
  20. "We have no plan to invade the U.S. main land because there is a rifle behind every blade of grass"-Japan's WW2 supreme commander. Pretty strong endorsement. You guys nailed it, it would be constitutional free people against state dependent big government types. No contest in my book.
  21. I've been watching this as well. Sounds like a declaration of war is in order. Fight them over there, so we don't have to fight them here sounds real good to me. Leveling Juarez would be a great start, except there are a lot of American companies there thanks to NAFTA. Remember when Reagan came into office Iran hostages=done, Panama college students kidnapped=done. Where's the iron hand to beat that narco-state into submission. If they took the gloves off of you Texas, Arizona, New Mexico guys, it would be cleaned up real quick.
  22. If you ever drive up here for an Altoona/Bald Eagle show once I'm done laughing at ya for coming up for about 20 tables, we can go get a beer. The Harrisburg show is big, I've been told York is "better" but I can't personally compare. Hell, I was just in Altoona a couple weeks ago for the sportsmans show/Ted Nugent. I'll PM ya next time. The vendors seem to like York better than Harrisburg, but I think Harrisburg is bigger, especially when it's in the front building.
  23. Nice! Did ya see any Saiga 5.45's? Not a single one I don't understand it. Come to think of it, I saw only a handful of Saigas at the whole show. No idea why, lots of WASRs, Tantals, AMD-65, etc. One guy had a whole table of Tantals. Which is strange because in September I saw almost a table every 20 feet with a Saiga of some sort. and December was only slightly less. Though there was a vendor with Izhmash plum 5.45 mags I just got done inspecting the gun. It's lightly used the dealer said, but looking at the inside the original owner couldn't have put more than a dozen rounds
