  1. I met a guy that has trained world champoin skeet shooters. He if you are looking at the sights it is very hard to shoot skeet. He said you just look down the barrel and 'point shoot'. I've never tried it, but I'm sure he knows what he is talking about. Don't worry about the sights.
  2. I ordered 5 and some other stuff a few days ago. It looks like I may have timed it well.... exited would be an understatement.
  3. No hangup there on one of mine. It took a lot of work to get it that way. The other one stops there, but runs great. I figured it wasn't worth all of that work if it already runs good.
  4. At least she isn't scared of it. My wife hasn't shot the S12s yet....
  5. The need to find that tool was getting old.... and it inspired me.
  6. No rapid fire? Sounds like a 'rainbow' range to me. I hate to hear that, but at least you can fire at targets. I go to a place that will let me raise absolute hell with my S12s, but I can't set up any kind of targets. I just go there for reliabilty testing so I guess it doesn't matter much. With these weapons, I would rather be able to rapid fire than shoot targets.... if I had to pick one. Looks like you guys had fun anyway. It's awesome that your wife goes with you too. When my wife started liking guns.... I knew she was a keeper. Did you have different ammo in it when the wife was shoo
  7. Personally, I would tear the whole thing apart and rework it from front to back, but I have never owned a new one that was under warranty (got one coming though). Send it back. I doubt you will be able to fire any low brass through it reliably and sooner or later you will want to do so. Don't do any mods.... simple or not, even if you think you might want to send it in for warranty work. You may want to contact Cadiz Gun Works and see what they say.
  8. I personally don't care for the Tapco folder. They are fine as far as I know, but there are many other stocks I would consider first. Actually, I would go with a fixed Warsaw length stock before the Tapco folder. Have you took a look at the AGP or ACE folders? They cost more, but I think it is worth the extra expense.
  9. You may want to get an axis pin retaining plate. Sometimes the factory 'shephard's crook' can be a pain in the ass.
  10. Well.... what parts are you going to use? ETA: how long is the barrel?
  11. The mags for $40 is good, but do you have any MD20 drums? I'd spend my money on a couple drums instead while they are still $100. I'm not really thrilled about the size of the drum, but the length of those 12 rounders is ludicrous. I have 3 12s and they work well, but damn they are long.
  12. From what I have seen the longer barreled S12s cost more. I say get it if it is still there.
  13. I always have something for sale or there is something I am looking for. I'll be back.... Thank you for the good review. BTW you didn't tell me this KVAR grip was brand freaking new! nice surprise and my pleasure
  14. The birth of a trigger guard? How many RPMs are you running there? Looks fast and clean....
  15. Great idea! And, very nice file work;) Thank you Mike. It took a while.... locating the points to file and finding the start and stop points for each side was a challenge. .... I thought you might like that one
  16. It's pretty easy to get to the pin now and turn the plug....
  17. so much for the money you spent on 2 day shipping.... Give 'em a chance and they will fubar your plans. I can honestly say that your story is nothing compared to the BS I've been through lately. At least your weapon looked good when it got there. All you need is patience now. My story is still ongoing and I don't feel at liberty to discuss it in detail because the dealer is still trying to make it right.... since January and 3 weapons later. WTF!
  18. I couldn't get rid of my ARs. They are dependable as long as I don't use dented reloads. I built all of them from top shelf parts except one that has a Colt 6940 upper (I call it my 'Ghetto' AR, lol). I have some AKs in 7.62. I just like them all using the same ammo and mags. After I get a couple Dracos with straight sights (long annoying story....) I want a 107UR. I think I will call it a day after I get that, but I have said similar things before. So many weapons.... so little money, lol. I'm really looking forward to starting a NFA stamp collection, but it will be a little while. Damn,
  19. When my drums get delivered, I will be going to the range to fire at least 100 rounds per S12. I'll try adjusting it after getting things gunked up good.
  20. OP, Are either of your sights canted? If they are straight, where did you get it? Did you have to specify that you wanted straight sights?
  21. I noticed that when I need to adjust the plug at the range, it seems more slippery than it does at home. This mod gives a little more grip. I haven't been to the range to test it yet, but it should make adjustment possible without a tool even after a little trash gets in there. Anyways, it is better than the way it came from the factory.... slick, lol. I haven't modded this handguard yet so I can get to the pin with the fingernail, but I may do it soon. Enjoy.... I did it with a file and some cold Blue.... I'd be dangerous with a vert mill and a lathe....
  22. True, I still need to brake it in. Im going to invest in a Gunfixer's plug anyway. Ive heard nothing but good things about it. Thats all I really want to do, is have it work the best that it can. Eventually I grow a bigger pair and give it a real pistol grip conversion so it can look as good as everyone elses. Here it is BTW. I assume you didn't fire it before you put the quad rail on there. Does the quad apply downward pressure on the gas tube or block the gas exit port? If so, put the factory handguard back on and try shooting it again. Also, look in the 'sticky' threads. You will lea
  23. At that price, I vote for giving it a try. Looks like a good value.
  24. I recently modified a G2 that I had laying around. I had the stock hammer and a Tromix modified hammer to refer to for measurements. The Tromix was a few thousandths narrower than the stock hammer, but I had already used the Tromix without any issues, period. Maybe someone got a little carried away or maybe they take them down a little further than the stock hammer to allow for inconsistencies from weapon to weapon. Glad you got it handled though. In Tromix's defense, these weapons, and nearly all AKs, aren't exactly one size fits all guns. In that aspect.... there's nothing like an AR, but th
