I have found a few SGM 223 mags to need a file stroke or two off the bullet guide. And as canoecanoe mentioned there is a last round bolt hold open feature.....

The newer Techsights covers have eliminated the safety lever stop. I am using Dr Thunders cover removal mod, and I see no downsides to using Techsights. I love mine....

Fast shipment, good communication. Thanks.

USA Mfg. AK Magazine Floor Plate and Follower

K-Var has US made floorplates and followers for (10) mags -
Split the differance, the Ultimak should not be touching on either end. Make sure everything is snug. I have never noticed much stringing.....

See DrThunder88s thread on this page at the moment on the dust cover topic.....

Well just for ghits & siggles I put a circle 10 5.56 mag floorplate on my sgm 223 mag. All it takes is a few strokes with a file to round off the rear corners of the lower lip, then it will slide right on. I thinks K-Var makes US circle 10 compatible floorplates so one could get them if one were so inclined, and maintain three compliance parts. Myself although it looks clean, use magpulls to be able to yank the sgm mag out of the dang pouch, so what differance... at that point... does it make.

You might have missed the slot. I had to file a little on the SGM so that it fit the square lug at the bottom of the gas lug. Just a little and still had to apply upward pressure on the handguard as I slide it on. Other things others have done is bend the pin a little. A while ago some posted they used a slightly longer pin. For myself once I made sure I actually engaged the slot it was solid.

Well that was easy 10 minutes of filing a little and test fitting and a little more filing, and it snapped in all without touching the rifle at all. Thanks.....Marc.

I went through everything I could find in search, and pretty sure I know what needs to be done to make the circle 10 5.56 mag fit. Other than interdiction tab shortening, I intend to modify the mag. My question is will this mod affect the lockup of the SGM mag? I love how tight they fit.

Still have this? Ill take it. -
Dont know why I just now found this, but I would be in for some 30 rounders for a 223 Saiga as well.

This was bugging me so I stopped by the shop on the way home for a closer look. There are no caliber markings on these mags. Other than the circle 10 down near the bottom on one side, there is a 4 cast on the other side. Also the part # has a 74 in it which leads me to believe they are 5.45 mags.
-
I will inspect them a little closer this weekend, thanks.....Marc.

Are there slab sided 5.56 circle 10 mags as well as the waffle pattern? I saw some here locally marked 5.56 and had the circle 10 logo cast. Could they be mismarked 5.45 mags?

pm sent, thanks. -
Update: First I want thank the folks who responded. I have received the posted RTG Parts fsb, and it appears its going to work as is with no mods except for drilling the retainer pin holes. I received from AA-OK.COM a retainer pin set, plunger pin and spring for muzzle device and another AKM fsb complete still on a section of barrel. Thanks again.....Marc.

I had been to that site. I thought the AKM was 7.62. Would love to find the polish beryl fsb. I will check those out. Thanks!
