  1. Well I guess I have a legitimate bitch I ordered a trigger kit and handguard 4 days ago and it just now showed up. Sure there was a weekend in the middle of the shipment and I'm about 3000 miles away from them but 4 days? Come on!!!
  2. Measure it w/ a cleaning rod, just make sure you have the bolt closed so the rod stops at the face of the bolt.
  3. I just put mine in yesterday and had a bit of trouble but I just kept backing it out and made sure I wasn't cross threading it and it finnally cut itself in. I think the new threads on the plug are just a little sharp, that's what it looked like when I held it up against the old plug. Also I put a couple drops of oil on the new plug. It may be that what ever proccess they use on them ( like bluing)after the threads are cut adds a tiny bit of thickness. Just a thought.
  4. I did look at the extracter when I first got it and was inspecting the bolt and didn't pay too much attention to the last little catch it had because I planned on running it like an AK. It was when I was later checking my gas ports to see how many I had that I tipped the puck out and then looked in the gas block at the same time I had inadvertantly pushed on the charging handle with my right hand and when I let off I noticed the piston hit. There is enough play in the piston where it mounts to the the bolt carrier that it does ride up on and into the gas tube and not slam it head on and then u
  5. I just spent the last 2 weeks figuring out what it'd cost to go that route. For the price it will cost me to convert the entire shot gun with my new plan I would have spent the same amount just on the hanguard and gas tube set up. If you feel like spending $500 on a $300 shotty and then decking it out with another $500 for conversion parts you're not spending enough money but this seems to be the place to come to remedy any "extra" cash flow problems you might have. I'm not gonna say til I post a pic and thats about $600 away.

  7. I have the same hammer I just haven't gotten it out of my box in about a year.
  8. When hot gas pushes the piston back, the air behind the piston has to have a place to vent, or it will create resistance to the piston's rearward movement. Plugging the hole prevents the air behind the piston (puck) from venting. Funny I just got done reading the "vodka special" write up and couldn't figure out why they would completely weld up the hole. I could understand maybe making the hole smaller but to weld it up all together? That gas has to go somewhere. Ummmm..... there is a bit of bad info in that thread. I'll just keep it simple by agreeing with those that say leav

  10. It probably wouldn't hurt to turn your air pressure way down and then work up to a higher pressure until you had enough instead of just hitting the block with 90 PSI right off the bat. Just a thought.
  11. Ouch! Thats gonna leave a mark.
  12. I noticed in some videos that when the bolt is released slowely it "catches" about an inch before seating. So today I noticed where it was hanging up when I had the gas plug off looking at my ports. The end of the piston makes slight contact on the bottom of the gas tube then rides up and into position. This doesn't seem to be affecting anything but it is 2 sharp edges making contact at a high rate of speed normally. Any thoughts on this?
  13. I hope that he has a stack of them so when he does start they can keep up with demand cause I want one or two as well and I hate crying.
  14. I think dinzags site says that the AK74 brake or the 00 choke will accomadate the bayonet.
  15. Dinzag sells a slip on lug to go on before the front site.
  16. I am. Saigatech's work is some of the finest I've ever seen. I think he posts these pics, (of badass guns/parts he's not selling), to torture us. No kidding whats next waterboarding. Nice stuff saigatech!
  17. Thanks guys I finally found the stuff to make it happen on Dinzags site (sticker shock) and that'll have to do unless I can piece some of what he offers together myself. I was looking at that PG on the ironwood site and a pic from here and they are just too stubby looking. If I can find a molot/VeprII style like the new plastic ones from MD arms only in wood I may just sell a kidney to build this thing.
  18. I thought if I was gonna get an S12 it would have to be wood at least the PG and 2 pc. HG. I found the HG at Ironwood but want a molot style PG w/ fingergrooves.Kinda wanted to find the PG first so I know what TG to get and I need to know whats involved in fitting the 2 pc. HG. I'm just now starting to figure out this site so if I missed any info on this stuff don't lynch the n0oB.
  19. There is an S12 w/ one in the pic thread about halfway through I think.
  20. Let's go shoot sometime!! You're killin me with your secret little toys. Are you Batman?
  21. I just joined too and I agree, that is what I had in mind when I decided to get an S12, incredible work.
