Here is my Idea- someone in the US starts building Saiga 12,20, 7.62,223,308 and that way they are 100% made in the USA and we will not have to worry(as much) and there needs to be a US based ammo MFR to supply the 7.62X39 in a 'military ball' config for all of us shooters. And one more thing-watch the movie 'V for Vendetta" it will make you go hmmmm.....remember remember the 5th of November,the gunpowder conspiracy.... GOOD FLICK. Not to hijack the thread but ....... I saw a SWAT team from the city of Irvine doing an 'exercise' in a closed up senior living center in my city of tustin.

Hey Chicom-nice to finally see someone else from Kommiefornia as a member on the forum-I am in the oc also. I have a 308 saiga and this rifle is -in terms of the 'PRK AWB' law-this one is really weird. AS DEFINED by the OVERALL law this rifle IS NOT an 'assault weapon'-GOD I HATE THAT TERM for semi auto rifles-but I digress- The Saiga 308 has a standard stock,can accept -ahem- ONLY FACTORY 8 rd mags,has no way to mount any dreaded front end pieces-bayo lug flash hider etc due to thee front site being all the way at the end of the barrel,cannot take a pistol grip -without modifying the FCG-y

hey guys,thank's for the comments,now on to the ??'s. 1. Indy- The only 2 'REAL' DO(INjustice) 'approved ' style receivers are either flat bottomed-not fully machined, or the magwell and mag release area has to be filled with a sort of epoxy that fills in all the gaps. HOWEVER-if you drill and tap the mag release button,get a dowel and setscrew-or a long enough set screw-you insert the 10 round mag,adjust the dowel/set screw till you cannot depress the button at all,fill in the hole/setscrew head with jb weld or some thing,and paint it black,it is 'fixed' according to the law AS WRITTEN. I need your input people- I want /need to refinish my STG58 and thinking of redoing my AK's,L1A1 also. What is the best product to use in terms of durability vs $$ vs difficulty in doing it myself. Should I try duracoat or ?? I do not want any of that digital crap,just a solid color, and do I have to try to strip off the original paint,worn parkerizing, etc. Thank's for the help and even though I know weapons,I have never refinished the metal parts or a whole gun,just the occasional rifle stock.

Hey thought I would post a few pics of my M4 carbine I just built up last month-'Kommiefornia legal' but can be cured pretty quick if needed/wanted. My other rifle is my great Czech Mauser with a 20 round trench mag and the best stock i have ever seen on a military surplus rifle-=check out the grain and striping on this baby! Personally I would rather have 75 rounder done up like the chinese drums-you can store them full and just 'wind them up when you want to go blow them off. Also good for storing for the SHTF or 'zombie' days,or whatever else comes along. I would also like a similar drum made for my FN/STG58/S308-1. I have tried the betamags and my experience is mixed. I guess I am a ''yes' though

Hey I am running late on these but....... Excellent Smithers(mr barnes voice) to BRG3 for my walnut rifle wood set for my 308 s-1-still deciding on best oil to use to finish it up. There was no earth shattering kaboom because Indy ,Dinzag,or BRG3 bought all the 'Illudium Q38 Explosive Space Modulators' they could get their hands on. Cool-Like the Krink in 556-I just WISH there was another-more reasonably priced- source for these. Hey guys,REALLY appreciate all the tips-FINALLY got the STUBBORN bitch off!!!! I tried the prying o' the screwdriver and all i got was splitting off a sliver on the innermost part of the buttstock nose-will be gluing it back into position-stock still completely useable/fine. I also tried the rock back and forth method-nogo. Ihad a friend grab the stock and I had the muzzle end-bolt carrier and spring removed-safety 1st!!- and we pulled hard-no go and i stopped us befor we both went flying.I finally had to wrap a sock-tube- around the pg area and use my 1lb mallet to break it loose-about 6 go

Yea it is kind of neat,read an article on it in small arms review,but I think for the price I would buy a converted S12-if I can find on for sale ftf! and within 4-600 miles of me-HINT!!!!!!! anyone!!!! but still-would be a hoot on full auto!! and the 762x25 is known for being a pretty good armor piercer-it will defeat most level2/2a vests and does good on old cars
