  1. tell him to buy one and you can help him convert it.
  2. try going to www.carolinashooterssupply.com. that is where i got my parts from.
  3. those damn spot welds are what took me sooooo long.
  4. got to finally test her out and all went fine so i finally did the conversion. this is how she sits now until i can get new drill bits to finish her up. only thing left to do is drill the 2 screw holes for the trigger guard. i tried the safety and everything works right. thanks CSS just ordered the gas tube, lower retainer and black furniture to make the handguard look more like an ak. should be here in a week or so. thanks again css.
  5. i finally got to go to the range and test fire my new 308 and i am pleased that all went fine. i had no jams or misfires even with me using crappy old military ammo. the uinta 20 rd mag worked just fine.
  6. at the point of "no return" on my firstt conversion now. time to grind the trigger guard rivets.

    1. Mullet Man

      Mullet Man

      Its EZ

      Sure you'll nail it.

  7. picked up my micro desert eagle after having to wait 9 days on paperwork.i like it.

  8. it is a shame not all companies are like uinta.
  9. . I used BBQ paint before. It can't handle CLP. what is CLP? i was thinking of using BBQ grill hi temp black paint.
  10. this is as far as i am gonna go with her until i can get to the range for testing. i don't wanna do any permanant modifications until i know she shoots fine.once i know she shoots fine i will do the conversion and the muzzle break.
  11. It's certainly easier and more convenient, but the super-tight fit of the K-Var stocks means they are more securely attached to the receiver. Plus, the more substance of the connecting point makes them less likely to break in the event of a hard impact. my t6 fits really tight. had to force it in and no wobble at all.
  12. so is the trigger not actually moved up on this ^^ conversion? i thought that to have a pistol grip you had to move the trigger forward? i have not done the conversion yet. this is just a tapco t6 stock, pistol grip, forend and uinta 20 rd mag so it is 922r compliant. i will be doing the trigger conversion and will have to use a different pistol grip. in other words you do not hav to convert the rifle to use a pistol grip.
  13. i found some very nice videos on youtube. this guy has step by step videos i found helpful. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=XU96VbnSoTc buit if you just want to put a pistol grip on and be compliant you can. i have not converted my 308 yet but i have the parts.
  14. The sight block is from/for an AK74, I bored the brake out a little with a green stone on a dremel just to be on the safe side. Nope, just hand to pound it on with a rubber mallet and index it. I recommend not drilling and pinning the FSB until the rifle is sighted in. not sure if this would help you but if you want to get the fsb close on the first try you should disassemble the rifle as if you were cleaning it and then use a level on the reciever until it is spot on. then put the fsb on the barrel using the level as a reference.if the rifle and fsb are both level you should be abo
  15. got the brake yesterday. it is fairly heavy and very well made.i won't install it until after i test fire the 308 at the range to make sure it isn't defective. after that i will do the brake and maybe even do the conversion since i bought and recieved the parts the other day too.thanks css.you guys rock.
  16. has anyone recieved their free sample of the tru recoil gun oil? if so how good is it?i should be getting mine in a few days i guess. just curious to find out.
  17. bullet weight really should not make much difference for me should it? i only plan on shooting up to 100 yards max and a couple inches will not matter too much i think.
  18. paid for and did paperwork for a new Micro Desert Eagle .380.Now i have to wai 2 weeks to hear from them. :'('''

  19. might be getting a mini desert eagle in .380 soon.

  20. i paid $550 for mine plus tax here in MD.
  21. ok, you guys win...you wore me down with almost everyone saying to do the conversion. i have listened to the arguments that say the trigger will feel much better and make the 308 look better so i just ordered the basic conversion kit #2 from css. i should get it soon after i get the brake i ordered from css as well.when all is done i will only have about 7 imported parts in the rifle. i still have not decided if i will try and do conversion or get a smith to do it. either way she will be sexy
  22. incorrect.my 308.only needs front handguard to be compliant. waiting on post office for it.
  23. the inner spring on the 8rd mag is exactly the same one in the 20 rd soo there is a reason for care.
  24. decided to order the brake. i hope it installs easily and works well.i hate recoil.hopefully it will arrive at same time as my handguard, flashlight attachment and scope to complete it. (for now)
