  1. Oh the reaction in this area. Was almost as good on that one as it was after the Boston Marathon bombing. People around here love when the state overreacts
  2. I've watched many of his videos and I can't stand him. Watching part of that video, I can't believe a word he says. In the midst of having issues he's posting text saying he found it to be reliable. He's a hack and his videos are long, boring and often now just feel like 2AM infomercials. It's a neat idea but only if it performs. Last thing you want to be doing at 2AM when a burglar is busting through your window is have to worry how many times your going to need to pump before you get a round chambered
  3. I'd say G22. G17 would be for keeps as 9mm would likely be easier to find due to the hoarders. SO use it up, toss it and move on to the rifles
  4. Gabby Giffords husband had an AR. I think a more important picture would be the politicians that own or are protected by people with guns and want you and I to not have access. Then we can put that up and let people see the hypocrisy
  5. Given this I'd go with an AK or pump shotgun. In this scenario, you may be able to fend them off by simply having enough in your group to scare off theirs. I'd imagine if a group came up to a house and suddenly heard multiple AKs or pumps being racked they might disperse. If not, they get to find out how many are experienced first hand
  6. My thoughts on the matter would be to give them something that removes experience issues. First issue I'd try to avoid is magazine problems. Having some experience showing people that don't know a thing about guns how to shoot is magazines can be a problem for some people. So I'd choose something with an internal/tube mag. Then, as has been stated, any additional safety option I can have on it would need to be available so it'd need a hammer right out in the open with a half-cock safety. Figuring they prob wont have much use after a first shot with something in a higher caliber, a .22 would be
  7. I voted black but if you are looking for a nice color to go with that will set it apart, try going somewhere completely different. IE. Polka dot that shit
  8. Since we are talking SHTF and melting crap. Say .gov completely fails and melting down post-1982 pennies is now an option. What are negatives to using zinc as a projectile (besides weight) if you absolutely needed to melt down something to turn into bullets?
  9. What barrel change were you planning to make? As far as my non-Californian-ass understands it, a Saiga is considered an AW and needs to have a bullet button or similar tool added to be legal. I am no lawyer and do not even live in the state, so don't take my word as law.
  10. Most of the people you speak of here on the east coast have no plans at all. They expect .gov will handle everything and make things right. Including feeding, clothing and securing them.
  11. Or any city with heavy industrial using combustibles. They haven't had a good track record lately
  12. As a libertarian, I feel as long as what he does doesn't impact me, he has the freedom to do whatever the hell he wants. If we stop allowing people the rights granted in the bill of rights because we don't agree with their life/lifestyle, there are a lot of people out there going to be very upset with the outcome
  13. I'd venture to say one of the 3 most popular .30 caliber rounds would go to 7.62x39. It has the benefit of being dirt cheap in comparison to the others. Terminal ballistics aren't as good as those you mentioned so if that is part of what you are looking for, the .308 is the more economical choice of the 3 and has basically all the benefits plus a bunch of its own, like rifle availability
  14. Stay: And here are my reasonings. 1- ignore function is available 2- although his poor choice of self defense pistol is annoyingly brought up constantly, if peoples poor opinions got them kicked off here we'd lose a lot of people 3- his sexuality (whether confused or not) makes no difference to the forum unless you're actually trying to pick him up and are angry he doesn't have the correct hole 4- he may post stupid shit because he is young and inexperienced but without the assistance of those with more experience (and this forum has some good, informative, and experienced members) he w
  15. If only one rifle and side-arm was available, I'd have my Norinco 7.62 and the G17 as sidearm. With family involvement, probably toss an SKS on the wife and have her running the G22. Carrying bandoleers full of ammo for both rifles and toss a few cans of ammo in the car for just in case. Her family has a bit of land we would likely head to and try to hold down with water and animals available to hold out for a while. Good thing about this area is, once all the liberal supperiors died out from starvation and general not knowing a damn, it'd probably calm down quite a bit. Much less worry about
  16. Unless you are going to a pig roast or interested in burning in a volcano, Hawaii should be avoided at all costs. Rampant tax abuse there. They can do whatever they want because 99% of the tax base is liberal zombies, marching to the political crooks beating drums
  17. I'm going to take a slightly different answer than Ed did. I'll say that the stock market drop scared some uninformed away from silver and gold. Causing a decrease along with the stocks. Looks for a boost in price on these in the coming days as those converting their stock money over to metals start making their purchases. Once the false markets fiat metal prices have had their toll, the metal market will increase
  18. MA has GOAL (Gun Owners Action League) and Comm2A. GOAL is the legislative side of the fight to get rights back here and Comm2A is the judicial attack, taking on any and all cases they can to reverse or remove anti-2A laws. So far nothing has really changed (GOAL did get the state to finally allow pepper spray without a firearms license) but it would appear with the court rulings across the country there may be some swing in the pro-2A community here. Similar to Chicago, it seems as if the only way to get a good amount of really bad laws overturned is the court system
  19. This entire thread is lost on me. It's very much like a car accident though as I can't help but just wait for something to pop and explain WTF is happening here.......
  20. Wonder if those threads are original or added. I know there were some that came in with a tacked nut that was often removed. Great find. I like the Chinese AKs. Looking to try and get one in 5.56 now that I have a spare mag picked up on the cheap. Looks beautiful in the normal-for-an-AK stock configuration
  21. Not sure on the locking lug pattern between the two but if it does match you're going to want to have that head-spaced if you swap bolts Edit: Looks like Romanian bolts have shorter Lugs so you likely wouldn't have the bolt be interchangeable with the Bulgy without some serious work
  22. Be careful with that 7N6. It may have the rust due to the previous owner neglecting to clean after corrosive ammo was used. Clean up what you can and fix their neglect and she'll be happy with you I'm sure
  23. That thing looks like it'd flip with no weight in the back while braking. Prob a hoot to drive
  24. Of every caliber I have, .22 is by far the dirtiest. If you aren't cleaning any gun, it is likely to have issues. I have had less problems with the 60 than I have with the wifes 10/22. This due to the fact I thoroughly clean it after each range trip I've had with it (usually between 200-300 rounds) and she is not as adamant about the care on her 10/22. The BHO as said above by Darth is built into the gun. If you haven't made sure buildup in the BHO divot is properly cleaned out, this may be why you thought it didn't have one.
