  1. Another one in Portland tomorrow. Might run into Pauly. http://www.ceasefireoregon.org/coef/turnin.html
  2. " Victim identified " WTF He wasn't the victim he was the perpetrator who wound up dead for his crimes. The victim is the shop owner. This semantic spin these cock suckers in media put on events like this piss me off.
  3. Maybe try contacting Gun Owners of America. I'v heard they have people that help with this kind of thing sometimes. Or call Eric Holders office and tell them you're buying it for a Mexican drug cartel, it should go right through no questions asked. Oh come to think of it they might have canceled that program. Good luck.
  4. Right place at the right time. I hit that lottery once with 200 rounds of 44 mag JHP's and 100 round of 44 special for $30.00 Gotta love it.
  5. I'll give you $20.00 for the 308 stuff if it would make you feel any better.
  6. Might be a good idea to have a professional peak at it. The goal is to have the bolts be the weak link. If the welded portion is not as strong as the bolts I'd have to agree with Chile. Beware the fat chick! Really it's impossible to tell from pics on the interweb.
  7. FUCK, My wife saw that and wants a whole dining room set. Now I have to buy 31 more saigas. Lol Very imaginative I like it.
  8. JonnyE, That is a very articulate explanation. I won't bother to qualify my statement. The truth is the engineers responsible for industrial machinery worth millions of dollars have the lubrication puzzle solved. Industrial lubricants are much better than any lube marketed as " GUN LUBE ". Your local auto parts store has what you need. Molly-lube mining equipment grade grease and dexron-ll ATF. And I still use 3M break cleaner. ( although it is said to effect the paint on a saiga ) for gun solvent on all my guns except a couple collectors pieces that seldom come out of the
  9. Mine is 3@ .093" and it's plenty. There is a ton of info on here in the tech section. I am no expert on these guns but it sounds like you have enough gas. Just a little friction problem. I would suggest lots of research before over gassing a good running gun. From what I understand the weak link is where the op rod connects to the carrier and too much gas pressure can damage or cause that section to crack. Like I said I'm no expert.
  10. Agreed. I'll buy a door and build a vault before I buy another safe. I just wish I could find a door for a better price but not willing to compromise on quality. Besides, consider what's inside that door looks cheap all a sudden.
  11. That's it. I am a computer retard. Brown safe seems to have some of the nicest stuff out there but they are proud of it. Base models about $3 K.
  12. I think the main difference between a vault door and a regular safe door is you can't open a safe from the inside. I thought about the same thing with cutting the body off a safe but I don't like the risk of being trapped if the door got closed by accident. I wonder if a guy could find a demolition contractor who does old banks. I think an antique style bank vault door would be cool as hell in my basement. Seems like anything on the web starts about $3 K and goes up from there.
  13. 3/16= .188" you sure?????? Mabe 3/32 @ .094" ?
  14. +1^^^^ I am fairly proficient at metal work but what Pauly does is a whole different level.
  15. Pauly's glass bolt was the best $100.00 spent on mine. Form what you describe, sounds like it might just be the last little bit of friction reduction needed.
  16. None will be anything " proof " fire, theft, flood, whatever. More like resistant. I have the biggest liberty available and it's full. I would say get a big one whatever you decide on. Another option is a vault door and build a gun room.
  17. That's exactly about right. I got a couple of them. So far problem free. Even with plastic FCG it's not bad at all. And you end up with about a six pound M4. Mine are Plum Crazy tho.
  18. Thanks for the input. I try the search before posting a redundant question but couldn't find anything on fine tuning a manual adjust plug. I am a computer retard so mabe I just didn't get the magic words in there. I did make a small radius at the #2 position with a chainsaw file. Ran a hundred rounds today with one FTE . The hulls are kicking out about 2' to 3' . I'm pretty happy with it but I'm going to take a couple more strokes with the file and test it again. The way the threads line up on my gun in relation to the Vplug I can turn it in to achieve another setting two on the
  19. I'd rather just do this LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtH18VOZmDM That's high-fucking-Larious.^^^^^^
  20. I know exactly what you mean. it's like putting $1300.00 dollar perellies on a $800.00 Jetta but it is where the rubber meets the road so to speak. It took a crow bar to open my wallet the first time I went that rout but it's the only way to get full potential out of a straight shooter. A lot of people under estimate that .17 Nothing better than embarrassing the guy with a high dollar varmint set up with an off the shelf .17 Find the ammo that it likes and avoid cross wind and surprise the shit outa your self. Happy shooting.
  21. Used one on AR platform. Not mine just a guy I ran into while out shooting one day.It would only go about 100yrds. I bet it would work a lot better on a 12. Might be worth a dirty look and a laugh to walk out on Pmkinridge with nothing but that and a putter in your golf bag.
  22. A friend of mine has the sweet 17 on his and likes it OK. The trouble is parallax effect when cranked up. My thoughts on glass, buy the best you can get and don't look back. A jagged hole in five shots is as good as it gets. You should be able to hit bunnies at 200 yrds. with that sweet little 20 grain pellet. Buy a good scope you wont regret it. Nearly all my bolt guns are sporting a scope that cost more than the rifle. My latest money pit.
  23. I'v got the cheapo savage. My wife gave it to me for Christmas one year. The action feels like crap but savage does a really good bbl. Like you said absolute tack driver. I had a VX1 3x9 Lupy on it with ballistic reticle but didn't quite match bullet drop so that went on a 30-06 . Zies conquest with rapid - Z reticle is what will go on it. I think they have one now matched to .17 ballistics. My latest build is a 338 Lap. Mag. so funding the .17 is on hold.
  24. My .17 is the same way. I keep two snakes for it, one dry and clean, one for solvent and a little JB bore cleaning compound. Works wonders. Three passes with compound and three passes dry and clean. All shinny and bright and ready to put one in a bunny's ear hole. Love those old lever guns you got there. Guns passed down from an earlier generation have a very high cool factor to me.
