  1. I would give it more time...maybe another 100 rounds and then see what the results are. Mine got better as time went on, but I have found that the weak point in this platform are the mags.
  2. So will the existing Firebird parts I have (handguard & Tac 12 lower, fire control group) fit onto the NEW upper ?
  3. I agree on your test methods and applaude your efforts.
  4. I agree that muzzle rise reduction is more important overall. I also think based on others results with screw in muzzle brakes that I would be more apt to go that way, it get's that muzzle blast farther away, it isn't permanent and if you continue to make improvements, people can upgrade at a reasonable cost. Just my opinions here...so take it for what it's worth, I applaude anyone's efforts towards improving this platform.
  5. I think if you put some openings into the top of both halves...you might be onto something.
  6. So with that being said...are the base gun internals the SAME (trigger group, bolt, barrel, upper)as the Akdal or is it a different gun that just looks like the MKA ?
  7. Get it back...shoot it...enjoy it. Worst case scenario, you send it back again and get a new gun.
  8. That's what I was thinking too...it may be that they are the same company, under a different licensing setup. I was also wondering what the quality of the internals are...which one of you aftermarket manufactures are going to be the first to buy one ?
  9. The Limbsaver slip on works great...I don't remember the size though.
  10. I found this tonight cruising the net...is it a clone...a copy...you tell me. http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/natmil-tk-uzkon-br-99-semi-auto-shotgun-detail.html
  11. Why do you want a drum ? If it's for competition, just buy an 18 rounder from Roulette Tactical.
  12. They do sell a set of shooting glasses with an HD cam built in......hint...hint.
  13. It's not needed with the Tac12 lower.
  14. Well with that many out there, I think it is reasonable for a few bad ones to slip by. RAAC does stand behind the product...so no worries there.
  15. Is it just me or has there been a rash of new owners with not before reported problems ? Seems odd to me, as I am sure there are well over 5k of these guns out there and nobody I have heard about has had or at least reported any of these problems. I think I will call Clyde tomorrow and ask him some questions.
  16. Try a small o ring under the nut...it will keep it from backing off and it's a fast easy fix.
  17. The factory grips work good...if you stipple them they will improve too.

Good news for those waiting on a complete US made Tac 12...shouldn't be too long a wait.
  19. Let's try to stay on topic. Play nice..everyone has an opinion. ;-)
  20. Gun specific forums are a funny thing, it seems that when there are NOT alot of posts, it generally means that the platform represented is running pretty good. I guess that what we are seeing here. That should be considered a good thing. My gun has been flawless for over 3,000 rounds so far, about 1,000 of those rounds with the Firebird Tac 12 lower and forearm w/charging handle. Now all I have to do is get faster on my shot to shot transitions and all will be good. I am still on my quest to find the best muzzle brake...time and testing will tell.
  21. The 2 10 rounders clamped tend to get pretty heavy. I have had problems with mine falling out for no apparent reason. With that said, I have had problems with the 18 rounder single too, they have problems with the shells moving freely through the mag...the weak point of this gun is and always has been the high capacity mags.
  22. I thought about that, but until there are replacement barrels available, I am reluctant to go that way. There is definitely an advantage to have the compensation and choice of chokes too. I am a little skeptical about the mid barrel comps anyway.
