Easy Inexpensive DIY Wood handguard for the Saiga 12
cguiro replied to Spacehog's topic in Tech Section
What was the issue? Did you remove too much material to get it to fit? Then you did it wrong... or more likely the handguard was BUGGERED up before you started... I have put them on multiple shotties... NEVER had splittingissues... All i did was cut it so the sling holes matched up, opened up the end by the gas block, re shaped the rear to fit in reciever. Hand sanded to fit. It was a tight fit. Maybe ill try again -

I wish I had a way to source a rifled barrel for my saiga... these in a rifled barrel would make a 300 yard gun I bet

Has anyone heard from Pauly?
cguiro replied to clubsoda's question in Pauly's STEELIN' - Custom Fabrication
Wow... this is nutz... i am happy i got my parts back before this all started. If i was you guys, i would be in contact with his local pd or sheriff.. but remember if you go criminal any parts that are considered stolen can be held for evidnece. Any how... maybe its time to pick someone to compile a list of actual names, pictures of the cashed checks, date sent in and any communication. This would be the first step to seeing how big of a problem it is. Then take that list and contact a lawyer who is in his state. Let him review the evidence/list and see what he thinks. Otherwise bitching here, -
Thats odd i have no experiance when it comes to this but maybe a get a longer gas tube (sks) amd cut it to fit
-
Thats sick. I wish in nj i could have them. I kinda wanna get my glock slide done in that green though..thats awesome
-
Vlad they state that the pistol grip petrudes under the action.... so if u bullpupped itor used a tapco pistol grip conversion(dont move trigger group) per the definition ypu are ok imo. The bullpup would put the pistol grip under tge barrel and the tapco would put it behind the action.

Awesome... mine werent really under sized just were tappered so i actually used a cleaning tool to make them a straight hole
-
Lmao!! We still do our own things to our guns and ideas!

Its simple. I did put a nice scratch in my barrel from a burr on the gas block. Look into having ur bolt and bcg profiled to. Helped alot for me
-
Curious how many NJ saiga 12 owners we got here! Maybe we can do a meet up and check out each others set ups
-
Good luck i live in central nj and I Couldnt find a damn person to work on my 223 let alone my s12. Why not pop off ur gas block and do the gas ports urself and clear the gas block. I did the ports myself but didnt have a a bit strong enough or the right shape to for my dremel to clear the gas block.

I shoot both steel and brass out of my AR's. I dont disagree with steel shortening the life of the barrel... but from a money stand point 350 a case of brass cased 556/223 on average and 250 on steel cased ammo, in the time that it would take for the steel cased to completely destroy my barrel.I saved enough money to buy a replacement barrel for both my ars, and still have cash for another case left over or whatever else. Just saying.
