  1. I stumbled across this Moscow times article that seems to say Molot are not affected by the sanctions "In fact, Russia itself has several non-Kalashnikov factories that produce AK rifles. Izhmash, the producer of the popular Saiga AK rifles for Kalashnikov — which is owned by sprawling state-owned corporation Rostex — is merely the most well known. U.S. customers will still be able to purchase Russian AKs from Molot — which produces the high-end Vepr line of Kalashnikov rifles. The standard 7.62x39mm ammunition used by AK designs can still be purchased from the Tula Arms Plant." http://www.t
  2. Mine are the same as yours, the fixed is different from the side folder. My side folder catch was a little long, so I filed it down to the same size as my fixed, now they both fit equally nice.
  3. I'll probably save for another year or so and get an AR-308, I never had much interest in the AR-15. We'll have to see how the cheap ammo situation goes before I consider another AK. On the ammo note, maybe in another 5 years people will stop hoarding 22LR so I can find some for sale for reasonable prices and I'll get an M&P-22
  4. I tried just voting the first question, but it made me answer both even though I do not find these magazines too expensive.
  5. I don't have a Saiga 12, but rest assured, I will be getting your Vepr 12 mags
  6. I completely agree. The market seems well supplied with plenty of options in that size of mag. I really hope we don't end up with like 6 round "poodle's nut sack" DS mags. Agree, I wouldn't buy 8 round DS. 5 round mags look to short anyway, I need something to compliment the size of my manhood.
  7. I have changed my mind and decided on a 100 round capacity preference
  8. I think I just pissed myself
  9. 20 rd. I think length wise, the single stack 12 rounders are just a little too long for my preference. So anything closer to the length of a single stack 10 would be ideal. But I really can't argue with 22 rounds, that would most likely trump any length concerns I have. Also, Vepr 12!!!
  10. I've heard the kel tec su16 sights work, and if that does the xs low profile sight should work as well. I'm not really a fan of either of these 2 though. lpa bar looks a little too high but has the adjustability I want, so I might try one out anyway. I'm Interested in any other options as well, if anyone else has any.
  11. Keep an eye on Legion for the russian chokes, they're out of stock but they are the only one I've seen carry them http://legionusainc.com/threaded-12-gauge-choke.html I'm waiting to see when the LPA BAR11WD4 comes in stock to see if it's low enough to work with the front sight. PSI said sometime this month, and midway is expecting them 6-21. A little pricey, but I like the adjustability so I really hope it works Another option I'm considering is the XS ghost ring, but it might interfere with the dust cover release. New england custom gun makes a really low adjustable pe
  12. Fact. However I'm talking about aftermarket hammers, specifically the G2, which sits much higher than the factory hammer in the cocked position. If you take the time to measure it, it only makes sense to profile it down, otherwise it will obviously produce more drag. Most people don't run the factory hammer for cheap 922 parts. Yes, by all means run a factory hammer if you don't need the parts. I probably would not profile one unless experiencing issues. However, I rather enjoy putting my own work into something to get it to run perfectly.
  13. Because it's a proven method to increase the reliability of running the lighter loads that these guns weren't designed to run effectively.
  14. The hammer face has been altered in the picture. That's definitely not just a typical tromix mod.
  15. have you seen the aluminum one that Legion got it? http://legionusainc.com/molot-competition-magwell.html I would have jumped on this one a few weeks back, but I've convinced myself to wait and see what becomes of the magwell for a potential MD Arms double stack
  16. I think CSS sells a already profiled hammer http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/css-saiga-hammer.htm Although if you have the confidence to convert a gun, you could do it yourself without any problems. The main purpose is to lessen friction, and I like to file mine so the hammer hits the firing pin flat on instead of on an angle. a file, some 400 grit wet dry sandpaper with a little wd40 on it is all you really need.
  17. they went up last week to 525 unconverted. wtf
  18. I wish Harbor freight sold mills like that for a couple hundred bucks
  19. Are the mag wells on these butchered like the wasr-10's? I've been wanting one of these, but I heard somewhere that this might be the case.
  20. Obvious question, but is the grip binding on the trigger at all?
  21. Shit, I got one for 430 when Obama was reelected and everyone was freaking out. Give it a year at most.
  22. me too, just ordered a second one today for this very reason
