    New Saiga 12

It is kind of surprising how light and handy they are compared to other auto loading 12's.As far as reliability I have had no issues with mine.Literally thousands and thousands of rounds with out any real issues. An occasional FTE but this is always when screwing around with bird shot on the #1 gas setting. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
  2. I try to find a way to keep a photo copy with all my SBS/SBR's.I have them in my gun bag but it gives me piece of mind knowing that the gun has one with it at all times.
  3. In the SAW grip a copy of my Form 4.
  4. In an imported semi-auto shotgun magazine that can hold 5 rounds or less = O.K. (10 or less in an imported semi-auto rifle).* If you want to use magazines that hold more than 5 rounds (10 in rifle) you need to bring the numer of listed foreign parts to 10 or less. I know it makes no sense, but then many gun laws don't. * Excluding exceptions for guns imported prior to passage of 922r, and not taking into account various State laws. Ahh....It all makes.....no,it still doesn't make sense. But my thinking was that they were both Russian but it is the capacity that
  5. Actually the surefire mags come with a little card in them that says if you use the mag it meets ALL THREE of the 922r requirements. I guess the body, spring, and follower count as individual parts. Not sure how correct that is though. -Emt1581 My local gun shop called me yesterday and said they had 4 of these surefire mags.(they also have 1/2 dozen Tromix guns waiting to be transfered)I told them to set 2 aside for me.I will get out to the range next weekend. They look crazy in this gun. They take a bit of effort to lock into my newer, stock S12. http://i33.photobucket.com
  6. The problem with importing the 8-rounders is that they turn a stock Saiga-12 into a 922r violation. If you have enough US-made compliance parts, you can use them. I am curious. If that is the case, why doesn't the factory Russian 5 round mags make it a 922r violation?
  7. I bought one on Monday at a local shop for $600.I felt that was a reasonable price considering,if you can find them,on the net they are $550ish.Throw in some shipping and a transfer and you are right at $600.
  8. For VEPR-12 because the production capacity of the factory is so small and demand in the FSU supersedes production. Wheeeeeen they get new machinery and can raise their production numbers they will do it... So,we may eventually see a "sporterized"gun we can convert with a factory magwell, drop free mags,LRBHO and a bolt release?
  9. Totally off the topic of the 8 round mag here; Can someone tell me why the Saiga S-12C EXP-01 or the Vepr shotgun aren't being imported in a "sporter" configuration?Couldn't someone technically import one with the lame stock on it and a 5 round drop free mag? Or is it a non sporting gun because of the features they have?
  10. I am in NE fl and have some Class III toys(8" Tromix too )I may make it down there with some friends for that. Any limits on the tannerite? We were going to do a 5 gallon bucket at the hernando machine gun shoot before the forest fire shut it down.
  11. Someone needs to do their homework on Bill Ruger and his "contributions" to the gun community.
  12. I have one for you guys;I like Aimpoints.I use them on my AR's.I have been wanting to put an Aimpoint on my Tromix shorty but I have H&K sights on it. With that said, does anyone know if there is a rail that sits low but far enough forward that the rear H&K sight doesn't get in the way?Something like what Bravo and RS are using but is known to clear the H&K rear.
  13. Looking foward to one for my Tromix gun. This brings me to another set of question though. That 12S in the above posted video, what is the deal on that specific gun?Does something like that even exist in this country?Anyone importing de-milled guns and reassembling?I mean, that has got to be the most capable shotgun on the planet.Last round BHO,mag well with drop free mags, side folder etc. My Tromix S-17 is a blast but after seeing that vid I need a magwell and a last round BHO.

  15. A friend loaned me his to try it out.He is super busy and won't have a chance to make it to the range. With that said,I gladly took it from him to test it out tomorrow.
  16. After showing my local gun dealer(who is now a Class III dealer)my 8" Tromix they fell in love.I guess that is a good thing because they ordered several guns from you today. Either way,I'm glad I have mine now.
  17. az_shootist, not meaning to take anything away from Tony's new toy.... but that bolt action rifle of yours looks SWEET!!!! Providing you're willing to share some info about it, I'm going to PM you with some questions (I'm in the market toward procuring something similar). ~Gary Not trying to take anything away either but that looks like a Mcmillan Tac-50.If so that is an insane rifle.I read a story somewhere about a Canadian sniper team in Afghanistan putting a guy down at 2300ish meters with one of those. As for Tony.....You really are crazy as you seem.
  18. Like wise.My 8" Shorty needs one of these. I have a few friends who don't post here who will buy at least 1 each.
  19. This may or may not be news to anyone. However,I was bored on sunday and had my trusty new Tromix SBS in hand and decided to see what would pattern the best out of it.Before I get started I want to thank you guys for all the useful info I have found on this forum and Tony for his amazing work. This gun is unreal. With all that said,I wanted to see what this thing would do at 25 yards with various 00Buck loads.I had some Fiocchi,Wolf,Remington-wally world stuff and some Federal LE 132 Flight Controlled wad buck shot. First is the Fiocchi. This was the worst performer out of the bunch.About
  20. Not with these Sauvestre's.They are designed to perform out of a smooth bore barrel just as well as a rifled barrel. These thing clock almost 1800fps out of a smooth 18" barrel. Just sucks that they are hard to come by. BTW,they went through almost 38 inches of ballistic gelatin and the wound cavity was HUGE.I will see if I can find the picture....
  21. holy shit i want some of those!!! where did you order those magnifacent beasts... a USA dealer? Barrier target - 20 gauge steel plates; SHOT @ 50 YDS with the 2.75 inch load
  22. I have a bunch of these in 3" magnum; http://www.sauvestre.com/index_us.htm I am sure one of those would put a bear down in 1 shot.
  23. I can't view the link at that forum since I'm not a member. Regardless,I have a friend on SWAT and have spoken to him about this incident(we have a full time SWAT here so they all know each other well)he told me first hand that most of the shots were placed in the abdomen and torso with a few in the face. While I have never shot anyone that is just unacceptable to me. This was during a undercover drug bust where the dealer found out(officers didn't know at the time)that he had been dealing to an undercover officer and decided he was going to shoot said officer. What he didn't know was th
  24. It is insufficient for even that.A local SWAT officer shot a guy 28 times with one at close range and it didn't put him down.It bought them enough time so another officer could deploy his .40 handgun and drop the guy. Something like this would be awesome; Compact,7.62X51 I just can't find anything not to like about it. Read about the Leonidas here
  25. Thanks. That basically answers my question. I am looking more for a SHTF type situation.I have a Remington 870 for HD.My Saiga is a Tromix 8" gun and I don't intend on using it for HD etc since I want to avoid using a class 3 firearm for that sort of stuff if possible. I do however have lots of Federal LE 133-00 and LE 132-00(Flight controlled wad)that I would like to leave stored in mags just in case...well you know.
